For you deciding to opt out of children, I already said in >>#115 "every good 'could've been' that you could ever offer, that would also be link to your family, will never be, if you choose to not prolong your particular set of genes." That would be the con. though whether or not you're affected by it is entirely up to you.

No, not that there needs to be more people just for the lulz, but that we need to replenish the ones are will die in the future, by reproducing, and taking the chance of telling the new kids to help our species.

You missed the thing where I said reproducing is the most important thing we can individually contribute to our species.

Of course. That's basic economics: less people = less things overall to worry about. The problem is that we can't get there without taking really extreme measures. realistically, the adults alive today are doing whatever they promised themselves to do with their lives. some decided to fix our society, other didn't. They're basically used read-only DVDs, and won't contribute to society anymore if they didn't choose to. That's why it is important to keep reproducing: so that we can teach and indoctrinate as many future generations as possible into fixing our problems as species (not our individual problems(that's our fucking job as individuals)).
and yes 7.3 billion is a lot of fucking people. What can we do? Not reproduce? That's dumb! The moment every person on earth decides to become misanthropic, and not have kids, in the hope of reducing our numbers, there'll a day when every penis and vagina on Earth reaches their expiration date, that's it for it everybody.

no kidding
that's why we to look out after our own species. because the world don't give no shits about us existing

Me deciding not to have children will not result in massive population decline, not even if 700 million (10%) of people decided to do that collectively. We would still have an increase, only a bit less. So, we are not really effecting the world population increase all that much and there are no harmful effects from me personally opting out of reproduction. Sooo, no cons. 0, none, nada...

From talking with you I could only conclude one thing:
You think that more people in this world is a good thing.

That's it, that's all you give me? Nothing else, that s the only true benefit of reproducing? More people? Is this really it or am I missing something here?

Do you really think not reproduction right is going to have an everlasting resolve on the world's issues?
#128 - Blasphemer (07/18/2015) [-]
Just dropping the population numbers will not solve anything. Of course there are other things to be done, improved and resolved. But they are done much easier with smaller group of people. Trying to lead and manage the supplies for 7 billion people I assume is a fuckload more impossible than doing the same with 20 people.

0 people = 0 problems.
The world has no issues, humans do.
