Hey, so, after writing this, I realized it was a little depressing.

I agree. There are a few different types of people who are lonely.

The antisocial edge lords who act hostile to "normies" or whatever. They feel anger, that's their pain. They choose to be fucking difficult about being normal.

The ones who want to be a part of the normal spectrum, but can't because some part of them is too different. They feel ostracized or left out on purpose. That's a more direct sort of pain. It's not always their choice, but changing things about yourself while maintaining your image is alright.

Then there are the loners, who fit in with normal people, but sort of feed off their happiness as a whole. Even though they have friends, they really don't connect with anyone personally. It's a numbing kind of pain, where you get used to it, but you're never comfortable. It really sucks growing up because if you don't have anyone to connect with, you really are just stuck until you can move.

I think my greatest fear is someone finding out that I haven't been genuinely happy in a long time.

Naw man. I love being a loner.
Nobody to bother me with their bullshit.

Being alone is not the same as being lonely.

I recommend keeping a pet. You have company whenever you feel lonely, they shut the fuck up for at least the larger part of the day, depending a bit on the species, and usually also happen to be a lot cheaper to keep happy than most human beings. Your girlfriend will never appreciate a can of dog food like your loyal four legged companion will, and it's way cheaper than a 500 bucks engagement ring that you throw away after 3 weeks because the lying whore cheated on you with your best friend and his entire football team.

only if you act like an emo ass loner, I fucking enjoy each and every moment I don't get forced to do things and can just be alone, do my thing

Eh, only if you let it be a pain. It's all a matter of perspective, really.
