Eminem, Metallica, Iron maiden. Just some of the people who are far more talented than her.

Well, life is writing the best books, that is where our interests come from.

You are right about Creeping, however, it sounds so typical, because Metallica created the Thrash genre - so, basically, most thrash is based on the things Metallica did. That is why it sounds typical.

I don't know if you play an instrument, however, if not, that could the reason as to why you cannot appreciate the skill it takes to create and play this music, especially in that style.
However, it is very noticable that Phil Anselmo (from Pantera) is a much better singer than Hetfield from Metallica, at least that is what I think. If you want to hear him singing and not "rasping", try "Cemetary Gates" or "Hollow" by Pantera.

I've listened to it, and it is what I feared: It sounds like something that I've heard so many times on the radio (although I never heard that particular song). It sounds very typical, and that is the reason why I cannot listen to music like that. It starts off very slow and on the quiet side, and is increasingly becoming more dramatic, like the typical pop pattern. To me, it sounds very predictable, but that is just an opinion, I don't want to talk down your favorite song.

If you would like to listen to a metal opinion, well, one of my all time favorites is "Creeping Death" by Metallica, however, if you like it groovy, you might as well check out "Cowboys from Hell" by Pantera. And if you listen to "Heresy" from Pantera, you will notice how different the songs sound compared to each other - although they are on the same album! That is one thing that fascinates me about metal music.

I could see all those points being very accurate, maybe I'm just simple minded in my tastes. The back story to the song is interesting too, don't waste your time with it but that's where a lot of my respect for it comes.

I like metal though in general, most of my friends love it so I'm exposed. I'm listening to the songs you suggested now. My only issue is that I can't appreciate the skill it takes and don't have the ability to tell slight differences, so a lot of it blends together. I liked Heresy the most by far, then Cowboys. Creeping seemed more like an average metal song to me
