What's it about? Sometimes talking helps dood.
Also, if it makes you feel any better:
I've seen gore threads on /b/ that have gotten so out of hand that someone posted a video of a little girl being murdered and then the person peeled all of her skin off. After that they removed the flesh from her bones and piled the bones up in a pile - saving her organs for future sale. They left her head attached to her bloody torso and were basically laughing at the site of it. It was incredibly fucked up.
And even after all of that - nothing. I felt nothing and fall asleep just fine with no problems.

why the fuck did you tell me that man... here i am, a trainwreck after a horror/COMEDY movie and you bring that up?? cmon dude i thought you would know better.

I can't tell you're if youre trying to fuck me up further or help me... but seriously, i need someone to talk to now.
I'll try to explain the plot

Basically, the main character is a podcaster who interviews weird people to talk about during his show. By chance he finds a letter authored by this guy named Howard Howe in a bathroom, and gives him a call. He goes there, and interviews the guy while sipping on tea. Turns out the tea was drugged, and this dude was going on and on about how he loves walruses because one saved him or some bullshit.

Anyways, after waking up from being knocked out, the main character (justin long), is in a wheelchair and is missing a leg. He asks for a phone, a doctor, etc. but Howard gives him odd excuses for each. Eventually at night time, Howard reveals that he wants to make justin a walrus. And no, not transmuation, this is the human centipede shit. he sews his arms to form "flippers" and sews his feet together to look like a giant flipper, then he rips out his tongue and like completely reconstitutes his facial structure and adds to walrus tusks. the end result is an amalgamation of flesh sewn together to look like a walrus, and it turns out that howard has done this many times. and yes, justin is still alive as a walrus, but he can only yell as he cannot speak anymore because his tongue is ripped out. so now he makes disturbing yells, and truly looks like a deformed animal, but you can tell that there is a human underneath, which is the creepiest part, aside from the look.

at the end, howard winds up dying and justin is "rescued", but his time with howard has made him think that hes actually a walrus and so he lives at an exotic animal shelter (lol/ what the fuck moment).

so yeah, im creeped out by the plot of being totally helpless while some guy does that shit to you a
#157178 - Aezync (09/29/2014) [-]
and that howard (VERY well played by the actor) was so fucking creepy. like this guy is fucking beyond nuts thinking that he can relieve his time with a walrus through human suffering.
By the way, before I go any further, I would like to apologize for the awful writing and poor grammar. I can't help but write poorly due to the conditions and circumstances which have me flustered, to say the least.
Anyways, that's what's bugging me. This can really happen. It is possible to make such a monstrosity and have it be a living human, despite the appearance.

And god damn, my cousins were laughing through this bullshit. it's a black comedy for pete's sake, and im here, shitting my pants at night, which brings me to another piece of advice i'd like to ask from you... how do I stop being a pussy? this is giong to haunt me for the rest of my life... i've really been scared all of my life until i stopped watching scary movies up until this point.

like i said, I really appreciate your time and patience. I am a total pathetic mess right now... all help is grealty appreciated.

What movie?

Also, what comforts me is seeing behind-the-scenes videos from different movies.
Understand that it's all fake, and knowing exactly how, is how I overcome such things

it's called tusk, i wrote a vague synopsis below.

and maybe ill try that tomorrow... i don't wnat to risk frightening myself tonight.

If it's okay to ask, are you an alpha or beta when it comeds to scary movies? I could really use some personal advice on how to cope with them and how not to be a god damn pussy...

anyways, thanks for your reply, i appreciate you caring.
User avatar #157185 - xXThatxOnexGuyXx (09/29/2014) [-]
Ehhh, alpha?
Again, I understand how everything is faked. I know which programs produce which effects, which package said effects come from, which companies made the programs, how much the programs costs, etc.

Back when I was young, my parents decided to cut off our cable... So at night, I'd throw on a DVD, watch the movie, then play everything else afterwards and fall asleep to that. I'd watch every single behind the scenes and post-commentary there was.

Anyhow, for you, I'd highly recommend watching a PG title, eh?
Fall asleep to something cheery and positive.
#157187 - Aezync (09/29/2014) [-]
alpha as in like, you can take it and aren't affected like I am.
Interesting, will give it a try... i feel so low though, man, just hating night time lately.
User avatar #157188 - xXThatxOnexGuyXx (09/29/2014) [-]
I can take it, and won't entirely be affected by it.
Although personally, when it comes to more demonic build-ups like in American Horror Story, I'd rather not watch.

And yeah, definitely find a kids movie that you haven't seen. Or just a good TV show.
I recommend Futurama, Treasure Planet, etc.

lol well I'm a beta too so I may not be the best of help, but I'll try.
Firstly, you need to rank yourself on a scale of 1-10 to best see where you need improvement.
1 probably being: "I have anxiety, holy shit help me now!"
and 10 kinda like: "Yeah I've seen a man be slaughtered and mutilated. No big deal"
I'd say I'm a 7 since I get scared at jump scares and horror movies, but then I forget about it and no problem.
Second, if you're not a no-friends kinda guy, then I suggest finding a friend who's a pro at horror movies that could guide you along and take you on a movie marathon.
Third, if horror movies are what scare you and not something that's real, try and find behind the scenes, the actors in other movies, bloopers, etc. Anything that takes away from the realism of the movie.
Fourth, you need to accept the fact that horror movies are NOT REAL and that you have nothing to worry about. Maybe you could keep a weapon of some sort for self defense around you when you sleep as a mental anchor to know you're safe.
This is just at the top of my head so this is just some stuff I suggest.
#1575 - Aezync (09/28/2014) [-]

I feel so pathetic right now... my life is totally in tact but my conscious disagrees because of some stupid horror movie?

I am legitimately terrified that my gpa will plummet because of this distraction. I can't believe I'm at this level.

Anyways, thanks for trying to help man, I appreciate it greatly.

This board came out like 2 months ago. The real question is how you've been coming here for years.

All this means is that you're a beta when it comes to spooky things. Paranoid, draw conclusions to fast. All you have to do is stray away from spooky things. Watch some comedy or action and such.
Also recognize that absolutely no horror movie is real. Maybe read the movie wikis and see what other movies the cast members have been in order to break the movie barrier even more.
#1572 - Aezync (09/28/2014) [-]
not this board. I mean fj in general.. whenever i want to talk to the community, i got a board.

And thank you for your response... I am indeed a beta when it comes to this stuff, but I don't want to be anymore. I've wasted so much time distracted by my fears, I'm livid... any advice for not being a pussy when it comes to scary movies?

I don't know how good the actors are in it, but sometimes it helps to just see through their acting. Or try to think of it in a funny way. While I was watching one of the more recent paranormal activities I had to exit the theater for a while because I was laughing so hard at a part in it. (when the invisible demon thing picks up the girl and she's sorta spinning... I imagined the demon purposely winding her up like a top with a giddy smile, but just in a goofy way, like instead of trying to cause harm he was trying to entertain/provide humor for the viewers)

I used to get deathly afraid of movies as a child though. After seeing war of the worlds I had trouble sleeping/not having nightmares for quite a while.

From the ages of 4-17 the majority of my dreams consisted of me getting killed, receiving extreme bodily harm, or viewing loved ones and family members being killed.

My parents used to have me take meds to make me groggy so I would go to sleep easier, that often times just made it harder for me to wake myself up then so I would have to deal with the pain.

My advice is to either try to find humor in the movie somehow(watch it in a well lit room and go to sleep with the lights all on bright and make sure you feel secure[ie. be mostly enclosed, sleep with your back to a wall, make sure no entryways are open into the room, try to have a pet with you if possible, or just stuffed animal. If you have any religious belief pray/just pretend you have someone there to protect you who's a powerful being meant for good. The only thing that's harming you is your own thoughts.] I also suggest focusing on a happy time in your life extremely hard, look through photographs that make you happy, or just watch a funny stupid movie that will get you to forget all about the scary one.

Follow my advice for sleeping though, it'll seriously help. Fear of the unknown causes the imagination to go rampant. If all the stimuli is predictable your imagination is controlled.
#157122 - sugoi (09/28/2014) [-]
Gaben's wise words ring true even now...
But seriously you'll get over it in time, not much else you can do since from what you've said, you're naturally scared of things. Maybe rewatch the movie at home with the Benny Hill theme song on or in the day and analyze every damn part of the movie so it's less scary and more funny or stupid.
#157131 - Aezync (09/28/2014) [-]
I've been in that situtation before, and yes, it has passed... but I have a lot to do, and I don't have time to waste sitting here, depressed and pathetic.

I have no idea what to do with myself at the moment.... I feel like a joke.

Maybe it has something to do with me getting banned from league as well? I used to play it a lot, and it has been my main source of entertainment for the past few months. Maybe my brain associated happiness with playing it routinely, and now that it's gone suddenly, the effect of this movie is much stronger than it should have been?

What do you think?

Basically, it's when an image that was created in a non-visible part of the EM spectrum (infared, ultraviolet, this looks like it might be from an electron microscope, but maybe not) has color added to it, usually for some purpose, such as to show areas of higher temperature (like a thermal imaging camera) or density, or something of the like.

A false-color image's opposite, a true-color image, is usually referred to as a photograph, photo, or picture.

A false-color image's opposite, a true-color image, is usually referred to as a photograph, photo, or picture.

vlc media player is what he has installed, i do too, and it shouldn't do anything like record keystrokes, your computer should be in no way linked to his through that program. Now something like chrome remote desktop would allow him to see your screen an manipulate it, but you would also see something on your screen saying your screen is being shared

no clue what OPs picture did, my guess would be he lost well over 150 pounds and gained very little muscle,

your skin will tone up on its own lotion might help but not needed its just going to take some time

also if your goal is to lose this weight in 3 mouths and then never work out again with some idea that you can maintain you might as well stay fat it will be better for you then doing the yo yo every time you get motivated, if this is not your plan feel free to ignore that, but steady changes will do you more good then drastic short term bursts

if you look at it as a single game.its just decent at best.when you compare it to ds 1 it sucks.

the difficulty went from being challenging and rewarding to cheap.some traps are no longer detectable and most bosses are just made hard by giving them mobs or making it multiboss fight. enemies rotate towards you like they are in a rotating platform making them look pretty dang ridiculous and since they usually plaster about 5 to 10 strong enemies in one room it makes most stages just annoying to play.

the level design is just odd and mostly its just narrow tube that leads to a bonfire that teleports you back to the starting area once the level is clear. and lore was somewhat confusing and boring

what was the deal with the queen anyway??

Nashandra is the reincarnated form of Manus, Father of the Abyss (And likely the Pygmy) after his defeat at the hands of the Chosen Undead. Essentially, enough fragments of Humanity-- Which are fragments of the Dark Soul-- managed to collect amongst themselves after all these thousands of years that have passed, masterminded by the tiniest fragment, which was aware of its frailty and wanted that which it did not initially possess: Power.

Enough Humanity collected together to form something Human. A being of pure Dark, like the one they originated from. That being was Nashandra.

Nashandra appeared before King Vendrick claiming to be from a distant land, and warned him of a threat looming across the seas-- The Giants. She coaxed him into attacking them first, bringing back some great prize. Vendrick attained great knowledge of Souls after this victory over the Giants, and created the Golems, created Drangleic Castle, and solidified his power. Vendrick was very likely a Chosen Undead who should have linked the First Flame again, but instead made an attempt to escape the cycle of Life and Undeath that he realized kept happening.

Vendrick was the Light. Nashandra was the Dark. Vendrick might have thought that the Curse appeared after the Light or the Dark became too powerful, they were too far out of harmony and so the world attempts to create a way to rectify the problem by forcing someone to rise to the occasion and balance it. The two ruled in harmony for some time-- And then the Giants stormed Drangleic in an attempt to retake what was lost.

Nashandra's true colors appeared at some point. She wanted total rule, and she wanted to spread the Dark. Her influence had kept peace and prosperity amongst the King and the Kingdom, but now she wanted power. Vendrick, by this point, was far more concerned with trying to fix the Curse-- And stave it away from himself. He locked himself away to deny her the Throne of Want, leaving Nashandra to bide her time and maintain.

game was awesome, and dont believe all those lies under here about "great feeling when finally taking down a boss"
The feeling are as follows:
Hatred of a place after dying 30-50 times beacuse you are retarded.
Please beyond beeing covered in nutella when beeing done with a area (killing the boss just dont do it)
And at last, depression when you once again are stuck in the next are.

Repeat.

died about 400 times on my first completion of the game (used a keyboard and a mouse. Fuck dat shit)

Nobody says this game has bad design, this game's design is pretty beautiful honestly. Not as good as the Dark Souls I design, honestly, but its still amazing as always.
User avatar #59 - blacknbluebrony (05/20/2014) [-]
Hahaha no.

People play this game because it's actually genuinely challenging. Most other games will hold your hand and make you clear waves and waves of enemies with minimal effort. In Dark Souls, there's none of that. This game isn't afraid to punish your mistakes with gruesome death over and over again. You need to actually think smart in combat and time your moves carefully instead of just running headlong into the enemies and expecting to kill them.

And it isn't unfairly hard either, it's just a matter of knowing your enemies and what you're doing, and patience. When you finally clear a difficult area or boss, you actually feel a great sense of accomplishment. Plus the combat system is probably one of the best in any game I've ever played. There isn't any clear "better" weapons or armor. There are many, many different types of weapons in the game each with their own move sets.

Lastly, I love the way they do the stories in the Souls games. It isn't spoon fed to you and crammed down your throat. Sure you can go through the game with a vague feeling of what the overall story is, but if you really want to know it, you'll actually have to go looking for it and piecing everything together. And it also leaves a lot of room for your own interpretations of the lore, which by itself is already very good.
User avatar #51 - sneperker (05/20/2014) [-]
No, it's just the hitbox of the crystal lizards is a pain to deal with of you don't have a weapon that has vertical attack animations.
Boss design is a little lazy but that doesn't detract too much from the overall experience.
Personally i enjoy Dark Souls 2 more than the Dark Souls.
#50 - IMIGHTBEJESUS (05/20/2014) [-]
The first one was really genuinely challenging, but in a way that most enemies could kill you pretty quickly if you messed up, but at the same time, if you played smart and got good at the game, you could go through entire levels without taking damage, making it a really fun and challenging game, but from what i've heard (haven't played DS2, just finished DS1) the second one has a lot more enemies that are just unavoidable bullshit damage and that feel more like luck or you just getting hurt for no reason rather than it feeling like you actually did something wrong.
#84 - angelious (05/20/2014) [-]
you are correct. ds2 had a bad level design and cheap difficulty..
#49 - Womens Study Major (05/20/2014) [-]

By not eating, your body goes into starvation mode and deliberately fights weight loss, if you genuinely want to lose weight, you won't just try the easy way. Losing weight requires a balanced and consistent diet teamed with training. 3 miles of running/walking is enough to lose weight. You can't rush weight loss. 3 miles sounds great for now. You can do more miles quicker as you lose more too. Just be patient.

Holy shit. you are serious.

Your body is in something call starvation mode. Your body is trying to conserve as many calories as possible to help you survive a long as possible. You are going to lose a lot of muscle before you lose much fat, and the more muscle you lose the less stored fat your body will need to metabolize to function.

You body starts doing this if you have something like more than a 500 calorie deficit.

You need to consider things beyond just how many calories you use during exercise, and come up with a healthy diet and exercise plan.

www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html

What you are doing is really unhealthy, and really uninformed.

There's part of your mistake. You'll actually lose weight if you intake a certain amount of calories less than your prior diet, and work out a decent amount, since your body learns to sustain off of less, and works more.

Calories are not weight and should not be measured strictly as such. Calories are a measurement of energy that come from different kinds of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. You should be getting a healthy balance, and making sure that you get the good fats and simple carbohydrates. What you want is a balanced diet of where those calories actually come from. Starving yourself is not an effective weight loss method, and in fact can have some serious consequences, especially if you switch straight into heavy weight loss methods from an unhealthy diet. Not to scare you but I know a guy who went from very overweight to trying to train for a marathon, and he did so much damage because his body was outputting more enzymes than needed that he had to get his gallbladder removed.

Like I said, I'm not a nutritionist so I can't exactly diagnose your problem or tell you the best way to get results, but I know you're not doing this right the way right now.

Also, are you getting a decent amount of sleep? Does your workout consist of not only a variety of exercises, but also bringing you to the point of sweating? Not working out before going to bed? Those can have an effect on your issue.
User avatar #126343 - iridium (04/07/2014) [-]
That said, there are diets that work different for different people. For instance, for some people a low to no carb diet works better because their body digests carbohydrates different. Point being it's usually better to see a nutritionist/dietician/workout specialist about it.
