>I'm not the only one who remembers
>I'm not alone

I've seriously gone through about a ten year period where nobody else but myself knew about this game.

I never finished it. Curse you limited space multi-disc system. Curse youuuu

I still have mine. None of my friends knew about this game but I played it and loved it alot. I even started a game where I get those two items that half attack damage and half magic damage and get 3 of each, its hilariously easy when you farm up for them.

It's closer to like 1/4 or 1/5 damage with 50% evasion. I only used them once, too easy for me. I preferred just grabbing the Ultimate Wargod for fully successful additions every time.
User avatar #200 to #197 - wargod (07/03/2014) [-]
yeah, it's always more fun when i give people additions

I am too Lazy to setup my my PS2. I swore there was two items you can put on that reduce Magical and Physical damage by half. And they were 10k a pop. I was farming a mob near the bad guy castle on the 1st disk to get the money. After blindly looking it up there was a phantom shield that did it alongside a dragon shield and a angel scarf. I never got these items before so i wanted to play though with my 3 mains having both and it was insanely easy.

Legend Casque (Magic) and Legend Armor (Physical). You get the former in Lohan, the latter from Deningrad. There were also some boots that gave +5% chance to dodge attacks. So between those 3, less than half of all attacks will hit you and those that do will deal scratch damage

Loved that game so much.
Kongol was ******* useless.
I had a serious crush on Rose

My cousin stole the case (which had discs 1,3 and 4) while i was in the middle of it. When i went to his house that summer to try and take it back i found it in a closet.
Broken in two.
 like my childhood

Beat it on a regular basis....

Meru was my tank ._.
User avatar #125 to #99 - thesinful (07/03/2014) [-]
Meru hit like a goddamn truck if you maxed out her final addition. Also, Kongol was useless.
User avatar #193 to #125 - unclebourbon (07/03/2014) [-]
Despite the fact that he was a giant ******* barbarian, he was weaker than Meru. Even if you maxed out his final addition D:

My A team was Dart(Duh), Albert, and Meru.
User avatar #194 to #193 - thesinful (07/03/2014) [-]
Sounds about right. Though I'd often use Miranda/Shana over Albert. Awesome healing and there's more dark bosses than most other elements.

There's also that even if Kongol was strong as hell (which he wasn't), he only moved every 2-3 turns. Rose was decent but she tended to fall behind it seemed to me. Probably why she got the best weapon in the game, made her usable again. Only used Haschel a couple times I beat the game with every combination possible .

Took me longer than I care to admit to learn about final additions. I just kept using the next one as soon as I got it so I was shocked when Rose first learned Demon's Dance. I had a crush on Rose.
User avatar #195 to #194 - unclebourbon (07/03/2014) [-]
Oh dear merciful god./... Demon's Dance. That **** was straight up bananas.

I didn't really like having Miranda/Shana, even though they were healers, I just thought they were kind of useless... Everyone is a healer with items... So I would spend all my cash money on items and junk..

I agree though, Rose just kind of fell behind ****** biiiiiiiitch Thgough my friend had a raging yes for her... I liked Meru.
User avatar #196 to #195 - thesinful (07/03/2014) [-]
True. My inventory was almost entirely healing items. Rose was like a Red Mage or Butterfree: a crutch. Great when you first got them then they fairly quickly stopped being useful. Didn't help that her spells weren't that great. Demon's Gate was a one-hit kill but only against random encounters and no one went Dragoon for those.

Also I thought Meru had some of the craziest additions. I'm willing to admit I did a money cheat that gave me enough gold/gil/whatever to buy Ultimate Wargod so I didn't have to **** around with additions. Though as far as additions went, I'm not sure whether I found the " **** damage but SP out the ass" or " **** SP but damage out the ass" were more annoying. Probably the former since 1) I used Dragoon from almost exclusively for bosses or curing status effects. 2) You get Dart's Madness Hero in a disk whose hardest bosses will all rape your ass if you turn into a Dragoon.

I remember the one time I bought the Legend Casque early instead of the Ultimate Wargod. 1) It meant Doel got weaker when he became a Dragoon. 2) Legend Casque + Dragoon Armor for your party meant Faust was a cakewalk instead of That One Boss. Oh yeah I also learned not to level grind. Not only is it not necessary, but if you max out 60 for some reason , the final boss takes about 3 turns to kill. Once counted and got something like 35-38 bosses in the game and you're usually 40-42 by the end so yeah. Pretty much bosses only for leveling up
User avatar #202 to #196 - unclebourbon (07/03/2014) [-]
Yeah, level grinding was definitely something I just didn't do. No reason to. I'm the kind of gamer that is more interested in the story more than the game play. I mean LoD was a badassed game in the sense of a game, but It's extremely long too, so there was plenty of time to level up along the way. And if you're too weak for a boss, go and grind a little bit. The end boss for me took about an hour to beat, so if I felt like killing and hour or so, I would go do that.
#201 to #196 - wargod (07/03/2014) [-]
why you no buy me?
#204 to #201 - thesinful (07/03/2014) [-]
I always buy Ultimate Wargod. Most useful item in the game if you don't wanna blister the **** outta your thumbs every boss fight.

Picture completely irrelevant

i've had the game for about 10 years, and still haven't quite finished the last disk. i feel so bad i haven't finished it.

You and me both.
#135 to #117 - dublkros (07/03/2014) [-]
you haven't beaten it either, or you also feel bad that i havn't?
User avatar #140 to #135 - nyrintriball (07/03/2014) [-]
I always just stop on the fourth disk, so I haven't beaten it either.
