Our coppers have tazers and batons still. And in heavy rioting, things like rubbers bullets and water cannons. They don't really need guns.

Haha, okay clever clogs they have guns to fire the rubber bullets. But there has to be major **** cracking off for them to use rubber bullets.

They don't need the Police because all the criminals are either in gulag or the Kremlin.
User avatar #204 to #199 - sovietsamurai (06/20/2014) [-]
I am from russia, and I completely agree

putin is bastard ...

I am hope that we get real leader soon, but know it will never happen ...

it is too late for country ... politician are too corrupt ...

But, that is not to say that I still do not love my country ... I simply wish we to have a better leadership and to laws for changing around for good ones instead of to keeping corrupted officials in power ...
#206 to #204 - gerfox ONLINE (06/20/2014) [-]
A lot of people feel the same way about their countries. On my end it was a joke since I know little about Russian domestic affairs, and I can understand why they act like they do (at least to some extent) in foreign affairs.

It might be a small comfort thinking about the fact that even though you do have some corrupt officials in power, you have much less corrupcy than all other former Soviet states (if I'm not mistaken).
User avatar #211 to #206 - sovietsamurai (06/20/2014) [-]
Perhaps ...

I am probably going to get much hate for this, but some times I am missing of the former soviet union

and even though propaganda of the day labeled americans and west as enemies, I never really thought of them as such ... and to this day the very few americns that I have actually met are pretty very col guys ...
#215 to #211 - gerfox ONLINE (06/20/2014) [-]
Every regime or way of governance has its own pros and cons. I think it was a simple life in the old Soviet union, with little individual responsibility. That's also a con though, since also individual freedom and possibilities was very limited. Also, if your country is in trouble you would probably the first to be as well, and not the ones who were actually responsible. Whilst in a modern society there are always ways for you to manage.

In a standoff such as the US and the Soviet had you will always portray your enemy as "evil" so that people will actually be motivated to fight in event of a conflict.
User avatar #217 to #215 - sovietsamurai (06/20/2014) [-]

Dubai don't necessarily use these vehicles for general police use. They use them to try and eliminate the barrier between law enforcers and civilians. To better connect the people.
User avatar #117 to #17 - forbesydemon (06/20/2014) [-]
That's all very fine and well to pursue a criminal, but **** pulling a PIT maneuver in one of those. The amount of damage that'd be caused at those speeds and the cost of a crash would be insane.

Have you ever been to Dubai? Most of the people there are actually paid **** all and are forced to work in 120 degree heats for the entire day. It's a place of extremes, there's a fair amount of really rich people, yes, but there's also a huge amount of people who break their backs creating all the famous buildings/landmarks who are barely paid enough to live.

oh, my bad. Where I live most of my friends think it's a place of pure luxury and excess. Me and a mate went there once and it was run down to **** everywhere except the small, richer districts. I like the US cop cars the most. It's not because of anything technical, it's because when you see a lamborghini (or whatever the Italy one is), it's not as intimidating as this mother ****** . The damn thing looks like it's ready to rip you to pieces and then take a motor oil coated dump on you when it finishes.

You see this in your rear-view mirror with the sirens wailing and the driver giving you a death stare, and your heart sinks. The same can be said for any of these, but I think there's more of an effect with these kinds of cars.

i've neverrrrr seen those in my life. ive been up and down the west coast and i usually see ford crown vicorias, ford SUVs and chevy impalas (often undercover) also i've actually seen cops on horseback and on bikes as well. but they usually just look like this picture.
