I can't believe it's possible for a human to be so charismatic.

Especially after what he's been through in his life with the whole drug problem and all.

It's usually that sort of stuff which is make or break for most people. For so many it either destroys them or turns them into a fantastic person. One of my friends lost her mother when she was young, dad turned to drugs, real rough background. But it somehow turned her into one of the most upbeat, charismatic and positive people I know. I reckon when stuff like that happens some look at it and think things will always return to how **** they were, whilst others look at it and think "at least it'll never get that bad again".

TLR, dark pasts either ruin people or motivate them to become so much better.

I guess it's the miserable parts of life that make us into who we are.

Actually, you're right about this! It's medically called post-traumatic growth if you want to look into the science behind it.

This would be a lot more impressive if it wasn't another well-known celebrity whose worked with RDJ multiple times. Still, cool that he would show up on short notice to anything I guess

I don't think he'd show up to Patton Oswald's kids birthday soon. Does Paton Oswald even have kid?

If I were famous enough to call up Robert Downey Jr., I probably would. Samuel L. Jackson, too.

as much as i think he's awesome for doing this its still a bad idea

at this stage in life kids should be told they can't get everything and getting a world famous actor on your birthday party isn't a great start
#16 to #4 - anon (04/10/2014) [-]
Except that rich kids generally do get everything they want. She'll probably get everything she wants for the rest of her life.

Discipline them later. If I got RDJ at a party when I was a kid, I would remember it and be solidly grateful. Just because one big occurrence happens doesn't mean your child will be completely spoiled.
User avatar #11 to #4 - doombunni (04/10/2014) [-]
Yea kids need these kinds of lessons, but not every event needs some sort of life lesson. This kid probably had one of the most exciting days of their lives, something that doesn't happen often, and there's no need to ruin that
