This leaves out the rest of the speech.
"And lastly, everyone, I am sorry that I used Twitter to subtly address the fact that a guy who put his girlfriend in the hospital can, a mere two years later, be warmly welcomed back into society, and appear on shows such as Saturday Night Live, as if everything he ever did magically never happened. I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
A moment later. "Really, Greg, you know the only thing Chris Brown is guilty of?"
"A felony."
Also, I hate Chris Brown with a fiery ************* passion.

I know that it is wrong to blame the victim. But I don't know why so many beaten women keep coming back to their abusive boyfriends and keep giving them second chances. Even when they are not financially dependent on them at all, they still do this **** .

a lot of the time, physically abusive relationships are also mentally abusive. The abusers are extremely manipulative.

It's probably about investment.
Let's say they met a guy at a park, they go to a date once, and decide to not see each other any more. Not very invested.
Now let's say they met at their work, and she introduces him to her friends, then her parents, and go out for several months. Then they have sex. That's a lot of investment.

Some women don't want to leave someone like that because then it seems like such a waste.

Well my mother was too afraid to leave her husband. She was scared that he would kill her. You don't think rationally when you're in a situation like that.

In most cases it's actually a personality disorder, known as "dependent personality disorder". This is when someone is so desperate to maintain any form of social relationship, they are submissive to the point of causing danger for themselves. Often times they will arrange their lives in such a way so that the most mundane parts of their lives like where to eat or where to buy clothes can be decided for them. It is 3 times more common in women than in men. Often times they will return to relationships due to desperation, however dangerous it is.

Remember in Star Wars Episode II when Anakin confessed to Padme that he just has killed women and children in of sand-people tribe, and she reacted like: "It's human to be angry." If you have a psychologicaly depending bond to another person it can take more events to really be able to disconnect. Like when Anakin in Star Wars Episode III killed all the younglings in the jedi-temple and endangered Padme's, and actually also their children's life. That's the point when you start reflecting the relationship.

Now that we're talking about it I realize how abusing your wife has been a comming thing and still people (like squirtle) are wondering why women get back together with such men. I mean maybe you've seen L.A. Confidential? The movie sells in a totally believable way the fact that Russel Crow gets the woman in the end, which he has beaten. Noone objects cause it's the 30's. Blaming the victim has kinda become worse since now noone can understand anymore why the women come back for some more punching.

There's a tribe in Africa where they have a kinda contest. The winner gets a night with the most beautiful woman of the tribe. If she gets pregnant he's gets a good beating by sticks. No modern medical knowledge, but even they have figured out who's got the penis and the strong arm.
User avatar #20 to #16 - emokoneko (11/03/2013) [-]
It's because a lot of times, the abuser will make the victim feel like it is their fault, like they couldn't get anyone else, and/or that it was a mistake that they feel awful about and will not repeat. It's a psychological trap. Also, some abusers will use scare tactics, threats toward the victim or their loved ones, etc. to make the victim afraid to leave.

It doesn't make it right to go back to them, but I do see why it happens.

I get way too much into psychology
User avatar #105 to #20 - nighkey (11/04/2013) [-]
So true. And in my friend's case who got pregnant within 2 months of knowing a guy who already had 2 kids with different mothers, it's the "But my child NEEDS a father!" Thing. I asked her, "If you didn't have a kid, would you still want this person in your house?" They sheepishly say no, but their dad was mean to them and they want their kid to know their father. Some people just don't get it until they are in the hospital from being beaten, are pregnant with the SECOND child, and all the money their romantic interest stuffed into their boxers before the police showed up that cant be claimed by the rightful owner is for "child support" which has never once been paid on. Then when that jailed abuser gives the pregnant woman back her stolen phone as 'good will' realizing she can press all kinds of charges, she finds out through incoming texts how much he's been cheating on her and staying for free in there house.

All the while, she keeps saying like a broken record, every day, "Hes SO good with our daughter! He even changes her diaper and feeds her now! He's just so good with her." It's kinda sad, really....
User avatar #164 to #105 - emokoneko (11/05/2013) [-]
Yes, I've seen the same situation so many times. I hate how much social pressure and other factors makes a woman think that getting pregnant by a guy means she has to stay with him. I wouldn't marry or live with a guy for that reason alone, but I've seen too many women do it. It is really sad. I got married after getting pregnant, but if I hadn't already decided that I one day wanted to marry him, I wouldn't have done it.
User avatar #165 to #164 - nighkey (11/05/2013) [-]

I've actually always liked Fox news.
It isn't any more biased than CNN or C-Span, but since you guys have the mental capacities of goldfish, you all hop on the "Fox is bad" bandwagon just because you hear others say it and don't want to admit that all news outlets are equally biased.

Inb4 buttmad liberals tell me I'm ignorant.

P.S Fox isn't my only news outlet and I research everything I hear on my own.

Inb4 my "P.S" statement is ignored and I'm called ignorant anyways.

Fox is on the same level as CNN. They're both there to make money, and the best way to do that is to sensationalize the news. They both take part in telling lie numbers 2 and 3 as often as they can to reach as many viewers as possible.

Lie number 2 is telling the some of the truth but not all of it.
Lie number 3 is telling the truth in such an outrageous manner that it is unbelievable.
