im sorry you do this in school?

His point stands- it can be slavery nonetheless. It was a loose analogy, but it still disproved your claim.

im talking about school not labor in the mines. two different things there.

>It was a loose analogy
>a loose analogy
The point was different, but it still disproved your claim.

lol no it didn't.

Yes it did.
Your statement:
"its not slavery if its for your own common good."
That's ridiculously incorrect. You're right about school not being slavery, but your argument is ridiculous.
He said
">Herd up homeless people
>Make them work the mines
>"It's for your own good. You get a roof and a meal once a day." "
That proves that it can be slavery even if it's "for your own common good".
It disproves your claim. Give it up.
And for future reference "lol no" isn't defending your point, especially when you have literally no idea what you're talking about.

It's an analogy. It doesn't have to be about what you were referring to. He didn't say school was slavery, he was disproving your actual statement (what you actually SAID, not what you're saying you meant). Therefor; it disproves your claim.
Plain and simple.

>taking things too seriously
>making me feel uncomfortable with the amount of stress you have
>the comment was directed towards the girl complaining about school being slavery in the first place, you dingus. not slavery in general.
stop commenting back.

If you want me to stop replying, it may be a good idea to stop replying yourself, "dingus".
I'm under no stress and I'm not taking anything too seriously. It's a conversation. A discussion. Familiarize yourself with the concept. It doesn't matter what you were referring to, the statement "it's not slavery if it's for your own common good" is wrong, point blank. School isn't slavery,_ but that's not why_. It was disproven. I hardly see how I'm "under stress" for pointing that out.
Since you have literally no means of defending your point (and have made that obvious by whining in every reply without actually giving a contradiction), this discussion is pretty much over nonetheless.

you consider this to be a full out debate, trying to be right so you don't have the pressure of being wrong once in a while in your life. this isn't a debate. I don't even want to talk to you, but I want to enlighten you before I make this final comment. you obviously are misinterpreting the first comment I made. the person in the comment commented how school is slavery basically. I replied to this by saying "its not slavery if its for your own common good." I was talking directly to the fact that school is not slavery. of course, the FJ community took it as if I was implying something completely different, such as it can't be slavery even if you get food or shelter but still have to do hard labor. this isn't wasn't I saying. anon didn't disprove anything, he didn't even relate to what I was saying about school being slavery, loose analogy or not. "school isn't slavery" well no **** Sherlock that's what i was trying to say, but you obviously thought I was saying that "its not slavery if its for your own common good" as a general whole. don't bother replying back, there is nothing you can say. you didn't understood what I said, now I have to go back and forth with you to make sure you are fully aware of what I am trying to say. I am only referring the first comment to school not being slavery, nothing more and nothing less. so goodnight and good luck you dingus. and make sure your giant ego doesn't absorb this much arrogance in the future.

I stopped at "you consider this a full on debate..." because you're already wrong, and frankly the fact that you think you have any idea how or what a stranger on the internet is thinking is retarded.
Have a good day.

No it's not. Not even a little. No school, in America at least, forces their students to work for the school, the school works to give kids an education. It's a public service. You're ******* brain dead if you think school is anything like slavery.
User avatar #107 to #52 - bladebites (11/05/2013) [-]
For the record; school isn't slavery, obviously. That wasn't my point.
User avatar #106 to #52 - bladebites (11/05/2013) [-]
I never referred to school specifically, an neither did the original comment. I'm simply stating that the remark "its not slavery if its for your own common good" is completely false.
