Honestly, just hurry the **** up and legalize the ******* thing. I'm tired of this ceaseless bitching about something that I personally couldn't care any less about. There are worse problems out there, but no, THIS is the **** we focus on because it's SOOOOOO ******* important that everyone can pick a person and random and say, "I can marry that!"

I honestly wouldn't even bother if it weren't for the fact that I see one-sided ******** propaganda for each ******* side all over the ******* place. "Gay's are against God!" No **** , so is a great variety of other things that we do on a daily basis. Lying, stealing and other such sins. Wanna hear a fun fact? According to the good book they're all the ******* same in God's eyes. So you lying about picking your nose in public? Yeah, rates right up there with being gay apparently. HOLY ******* **** , looks like our **** stinks after all.

And to you stupid ******** trying to justify it by using a child as a medium, you can very well go soak your fat, illogical head in a sewage drain. It's a child, not ******* Plato. Justify your actions logically or don't justify them at all. **** BOTH sides of this argument, you're both filled to the brim with moronic, ******* ************* .

Well you know what? It matters for some people. It's not just about "oooh look! I've got a ring! Yaaaaay!!!" There are a lot of legal protections that married couples get, and they're sort of really important. There are families getting financially screwed over because the parents are of the same gender. For instance, if I die young, I would prefer that my family is NOT dicked over financially. You know why? A lot of rights are passed on to your spouse after you die. It's not fair, it isn't logical, it's ancient and it's completely unethical to ignore these rights for some people. Sorry if you don't care about a huge population of people being denied their rights on a daily basis, but for those of us who are actually affected by it, it matters. I want to have a family and I want to make sure we are just as protected as anybody else's.

Read up on these, maybe.

I'm not against those who want it for legal protection, I'm against those who want it for, and I'm using this term very loosely, "bragging rights." I honestly despise those who, just because they're homosexual, have the need to shove it in other people's faces.

Well yeah, some straight people also brag about being married though.
#172 to #171 - redbannerman (11/19/2013) [-]
******* really? I swear, that sounds like walking into a KKK meeting and shouting "White power".

Of course depending on HOW they're bragging. "Hehe, I'm rather happy I'm married" or " **** MINORITIES FOR NOT BEING MARRIED WARHARHAR!" Kinda depends on the context, yeah?

Because I'm a common man

I suppose. But you're talking about people who are assholes, who are evenly spread through every race, gender, and sexual orientation. You need to think about all the people who aren't assholes, who have lost so much because they're denied equal rights. No wonder you don't care, I wouldn't care about a minority's rights if I just focused on their weakest links either. You need to look at the bigger picture.

Ah, but you see, I don't care about equal rights as explained by a person who NEEDS them what irks me is people who wish to flaunt and abuse those equal rights to put them in a position where no one else can touch them. I.E. A gay guy gets fired and he blames his boss for discrimination, sues, and then walks out of it much richer. Albeit if used for actual discrimination it works. I am not against the good arguments to support gay rights, I'm against all the bad arguments. Same goes for the legalization of Marijuana, by all means get as high as you want I could care less, but don't ******** me about how "You can use it to make clothes" as an argument winning topic. Please don't take it like I'm against your rights. I'm against the stupidity of others unable to argue their case.
User avatar #177 to #174 - dbrak (11/19/2013) [-]
Being against stupidity is fine, just don't let it get in the way of the fact that there's ****** discrimination. Care just a little bit. People are hurting.

*Sigh* Fine. If it's one thing I despise more than ignorant dickheads, it's innocent people being hurt. Despite being a Christian I can find no more wrong in being gay than straight with evil in our hearts. I honestly have no idea on how I'm supposed to think on this subject. It is love, yet I cannot fathom why I have this aversion to it. As I am told, I am to call it evil, but how can I morally look at two who are obviously willing to spend their lives together and possibly die for each other and tell them they are wrong. I really can't, it is not my place nor is it in my moral code. I cannot describe to you what it feels like to be caught between yourself. Part of me wishes to spit upon it, while the other cannot find anything wrong. I can't really support it, nor can I be against it. My place is neutrality, and that, is why I don't care. It is beyond my place to decide what is right and wrong for others.

You are not obligated to think ANYTHING. I don't mean that anti-religiously, I'm a Christian too. But a few things have brought me to believe that the whole gay-is-a-sin thing is faulty. First of all, the only mentions of gay being a sin are in the Old Testament. Among that writing lies several other nonsensical laws. Why is being gay a sin but wearing two fabrics at once not? They're both in the same writing.

Also, God is just, right? Would he do such a cruel thing as to give two humans a deep love for each other and tell them that it cannot be fulfilled? That's torment. God would never twist His gift of love into a weapon in such a way. Homosexuality isn't just about sex. It's about love. People don't realize that.

I DO realize this though, and that is why it bothers me so. I suppose I'll grind my teeth in frustration while I wait for inspiration. I understand that it IS indeed love, given different interpretations of the scripture, different viewpoints on biology and even inner questioning part of me still wonders if it is correct. So I will continue on as I have, but know you have given me some insight and you better damn well be proud of it.

No problem If you have any questions about any of that stuff, let me know. I'm quite (nonaggressively) open about it!
