I want to prank someone now but I don't exactly understand what this does.
Plz explain before I try it and accidentally bluescreen a computer because that actually deletes system 32.
User avatar #10 to #8 - ragingspacepanda (02/23/2014) [-]
it causes the dvd tray to open and close in a endless loop
the one with the message will wait till the message is closes to loop again
the one without will just keep going with a small delay between loops
copy pasta the one you want into notepad and and save with a .bmp at the end of the name
you can later make a shortcut with can be disguised as anything (I usually pick IE to punish people
User avatar #20 to #10 - ryapr (02/23/2014) [-]
ummmm are you certain with .bmp?
User avatar #96 to #20 - lordzak (02/23/2014) [-]
Yes, by default Windows hides extensions it knows how to handle. so "filename.bat" will appear as "filename" and "filename.jpg.bat" would appear as "filename.jpg", you can then change the icon to that of a jpeg.
User avatar #13 to #10 - lolerbot (02/23/2014) [-]
ty last question, how do i run it?
User avatar #15 to #13 - ragingspacepanda (02/23/2014) [-]
you can change the message by right clicking the file and clicking edit to open it in notepad again
User avatar #14 to #13 - ragingspacepanda (02/23/2014) [-]
open the file after you save it
such as when you open a file
to end the cycle open Task Manager and end the process called "wscript.exe"
you may check the processes before you start it as to verify it is not something else
User avatar #9 to #8 - mylazy (02/23/2014) [-]
Yes, I would love to know this as well.

From what the code says : Blast error sound, repeat the opening and closing of your CD tray Bug : With this code, it wont work if your CD tray is already open ;) and display an error message
User avatar #71 to #69 - ragingspacepanda (02/23/2014) [-]
the code in the picture is actually already broken... won't loop properly... I posted the two versions of the fixed code in another comment

But they're shell commands, not executed by notepad.
User avatar #89 to #88 - ragingspacepanda (02/23/2014) [-]
im just saying that you can use notepad to make it
User avatar #90 to #89 - lordzak (02/23/2014) [-]
Righto, but you did say notepad could destroy your computer which isn't true.
#94 to #90 - Rascal (02/23/2014) [-]
Actually it is true as you would be using notpad to create it, destroying a computer. Thus notepad is destroying the computer. It's like saying that you can't be convicted of murder because the gun/bullet is what really killed them.
User avatar #95 to #94 - lordzak (02/23/2014) [-]
No, you cannot destroying a computer using notepad. notepad has nothing to do with the execution of that file other than it saved it. You, the person who write it and cmd are responsible. Another analogy, newspaper publishes slander or something, would it make sense to involve the companies in between e.g. guys who made printer, guys who deliver the mail?

hammers are simple too
User avatar #51 to #1 - bighairyfart (02/23/2014) [-]
Well, assuming you save it as an exe, it's actually called batch, notepad is just the most common way of typing it up, any basic text editor will do.
User avatar #75 to #51 - ragingspacepanda (02/23/2014) [-]
.bmp will save as a script file which is what makes it run right
User avatar #76 to #75 - bighairyfart (02/23/2014) [-]
Well, there's several different ways you can save it. There's exe, bmp, vbs, html, and so on. Their all basically the same, the file extension just changes how the text is interpreted.

C# is a TERRIBLE language compared to C++
and Java? It is so unstable
User avatar #80 to #46 - snood (02/23/2014) [-]
hate garbage collection languages. C and C++ is the way to go.
User avatar #48 to #46 - wheteverlol (02/23/2014) [-]
But it takes for ever to create an array list in C++, C# and java are a lot easier, and C++ cannot deal with objects.
User avatar #49 to #48 - trolljunkusa (02/23/2014) [-]
Easier != good

Assembly will blow all languages out of the ******* water. yet it's hard as ****
User avatar #53 to #49 - wheteverlol (02/23/2014) [-]
In the end it all comes down to which one is faster and better for the device you want to create your program on. That is why I said C# is the best, however you cannot use it in many devices.
User avatar #54 to #53 - trolljunkusa (02/23/2014) [-]
C++ is currently the fastest and used in the most devices, and applications

>Most video games are written in C++
>Most top applications are written in C++
User avatar #57 to #54 - wheteverlol (02/23/2014) [-]
If you are talking about PC sure. Android apps however are written with java. Also TVs and projectors and even refrigirators work with java.
User avatar #60 to #57 - zdawg (02/23/2014) [-]
Aren't C++ and Java really similar?
User avatar #62 to #60 - wheteverlol (02/23/2014) [-]
If you are talking about the commands, yes. Many commands look alike and some others are the same.
User avatar #63 to #62 - zdawg (02/23/2014) [-]
I'm legit curious, what's the main differences then? I know that Java is automatically Object Oriented, and in C++ it can but doesn't have to be
User avatar #67 to #63 - wheteverlol (02/23/2014) [-]
The biggest difference is that java can work with everything. Cellphones, PCs even consoles. Because every device has a translator of some sort in it, that translates java to what the device understands. That however makes java applications on PCs slower than most languages.

Object, in proggraming language is something that has specific values or functions. If you create a car in a proggram, you can "tag" it with how much fuel it has, the speed it is running on, and if you want you can then create an image for this car (or an animation).
After you have a certain object you can then have a similar one with different values. I'm going off-topic I think.

How you create and deal with an object in C++ and jave is different but I cannot realy talk about that since I have not enough experience with it on C++.

Also C++ has no garbage collector. If you create an object or variable, and don't use it, you will never know (unless you find it yourself).

C++ and java can have pointers. Pointers bassicaly tell you which variable is after or before the one you are looking at, but in C++ you have to do this manually, whereas in Java you don't have to.

For more info check wikipedia.

User avatar #26 to #24 - wiwaaaa (02/23/2014) [-]
Latex is basically a tool for writing maths into PDFs and stuff. It might have other uses too, I haven't used it much.
User avatar #27 to #26 - joeker (02/23/2014) [-]
It is used to write pretty much any math-heavy text book also, so physics, engineering, oh and just math like Calculus and Proofs and stuff. It makes submitting math hw significantly easier and awesome looking too (I have a friend who uses it regularly).
#35 to #27 - Rascal (02/23/2014) [-]
I started using Latex recently after writing math in Word and OpenOffice and once you know the commands it's a ton faster, and documents are a lot more beautiful and well organized without having to do anything. Latex is just great.

*note that it doesn't adress people stupidity. A crappy essay will still be crappy written in Latex, just less ugly.
