as long as Darth Mickey doesn't make an appearance, we should be ok.

Knowing them, they would make a Easter eggs for Disney stuff, but I hope not.

if you can kill the lil rodent, it might be worth it.

That, I can agree with.

Think of it as a way that EA might be able to redeem thenselves a little if this dosnt suck.
But if it sucks, jimmies WILL be rustled.

That sums it up for most of us I can imagine. I really, really dislike origin. Have had so much hell using it, so it will be sad seeing these new ones be put there. Hoping Steam gets them.

The only thing EA has to do is take Battlefront 2, power it up with the frostbyte engine and let DICE handle the singleplayer.

If they just keep all the stuff from BF2, but make it prettier, I'll be satisfied. If they keep it the same, at least they don't **** up the core gameplay I loved. They could add stuff, like customisation options for your character and some new maps, but they don't need to change alot, because BF2 worked just fine.

I hope they add the Space Land battle hybrids. But yeah pretty much the truth.

To be honest, I always was sceptic about that idea, even when when it was just anounced. It would be a massive change, and it could be difficult to make it a good one. If DICE handles the multiplayer, even they need to be careful. Battlefield has a lot of vehicles on the maps, yes, but not on the scale it would be in SWB3. People would expect to really fight in space, not just the air above the normal battlefield. You'd just be fighting two different battles that aren't really connected. They should make it really one battle.
For example, every team has two to three space craft uo in space, capable of firing "airstrike"-like attacks from space. Three shots fired from every ship, after which they have to recharge for like a few minutes or so. This way people actually have a reason to go into space and take down the enemy ships that are bombarding their ground troops. I Battlefield 3, I never felt the need to jump into a jet to help my team gain the upperhand in battle. The air battles didn't affect the ground batlle at all, aside from simple score points. Really connecting the space and ground battle would really stimulate teamwork. You need someone to fight in space to defend the ground troops, but you also need ground troops to protect and capture command posts. And COD like scorestreaks can be added, like a defensive shield for your command posts, or extra shields for your starships. This way people can use bonuses not only for their own benefit, but for the whole team.

My point is, the game must really promote teamwork and give you the feeling you're fighting one battle with your whole team, and not two seperate battles on your own. If they can do this, the game will be perfect.

From what I saw they made them part of each other. It should be a game mode to have a Hybrid battle. Planetside two pretty much is setting the pace with larger battles.

And games like EVE now made another game where you have to work with the guys in space to fight on the planets. In EVE (if you have not played it) it is a ship simulator, but now this new game is linked to it, and are played at the same time to complete missions. Something like that would be good in BF3

I have not played games like EVE, but I'm glad to know there is far more experience on the subject of massive space battles than I knew of.

I'm going to buy the game anyway, I just hope EA doesn't rush it or fuk it up just to make quick money. If they do this right, and I mean really right, it could be a major opponent for COD.

I hope they do it right. It's all we an do.

If they can **** this up the deserve to fall apart. Knowing they have to be "perfect" for Disney, hopefully helps.

Here is my current best case scenario for this:

EA takes the work on BF3 and gives it to a group to work on and forget about it. They just want it finished so they can make easy cash. This group, since they're largely ignored, take what they have and make it into an awesome game and it sells really well (and isn't Origin only, maybe even available on steam).

EA sees this and pressures the group to make another, this time with some DLC. This one does ok because the third one was good and they hoped for more. They do it again, but this time with even more DLC.

Basically, I'm hoping it goes the route of Dead Space, because then we have at least one good new BF game.

Battlefront 3 made by DICE with the Frostbyte engine would be amazing
User avatar #22 - CaptalnPlanet (05/10/2013) [-]
this could be ******* amazing or terrible

Come on EA, you can do it! Redeem yourselves!
User avatar #10 - theknikker (05/09/2013) [-]
I don't care for EA, but that is ******* awesome news. Thanks!

I am sure that it will get a massive overhaul. This was from back in 2009 or so afterall.

EA bought out Pandemic just to close them. They're the reason Battlefront 3 never came out.
User avatar #18 - naitsabesh ONLINE (05/09/2013) [-]
and then you can kiss a fun online experience and all your money goodbye.

Money yes, but I actually like the battlefield series quite a bit.

The footage from BF3 was an old Alpha phase test. It's not new.
User avatar #29 to #17 - exarzero (05/10/2013) [-]
Well yes, but it is still new footage to us, since it was just released. (What I meant anyways)

battlefront 3, you dense ****
User avatar #11 - phantomi (05/09/2013) [-]
They only gave them licence to make new games but no-one knows for sure about the old ones that were still in production
User avatar #12 to #11 - exarzero (05/09/2013) [-]
Indeed. I have a feeling that the fan uproar will push them toward it.
User avatar #13 to #12 - phantomi (05/09/2013) [-]
as if EA cared for its fans and not money
User avatar #14 to #13 - exarzero (05/09/2013) [-]
I would say the fans are pretty much equal to profit, due to that is where the money comes from right?
User avatar #15 to #14 - phantomi (05/09/2013) [-]
No I mean EA will not care about isolating battlefronts hard-core fanbase as long as it brings them new customers
User avatar #26 to #15 - exarzero (05/10/2013) [-]
Could be so. But, with the ability to make it, I wonder if they will or not.
