I'd love to play if someone will teach me how. I've always wanted to, but never found anyone around here that did or that could explain it to me
User avatar #11 to #6 - elf (04/27/2013) [-]
So are you in? I don't think that there would be a problem with anyone teaching you and such man...and I mean it's just a beta so having some people that are interested is aways nice man
#13 to #11 - rimjobmcgee (04/27/2013) [-]
As long as someone will help me learn, I'm completely in. I think its a fantastic idea
User avatar #14 to #13 - elf (04/27/2013) [-]
Thanks man I'm glad you think it's a good idea and you can definetly be in the beta test for the play...I already have to potentiall DM's and a few other people down to play so it's all good man...thanks again It means alot

Bro, don't thank me. You had a great idea, us supporters have to thank you for having it. Besides, I know there are a lot of people in situations like mine, where we want to do things like play D&D but don't get a chance because of our location.
User avatar #1 - rugmaster (04/26/2013) [-]
I'd do this, maybe even DM, but I only have the 4e books.

Also, we could use roll n the comments as dice. Since there's a set number of possibilities, you can just divide it up into whatever dice you needed.

For a d20, if you roll a 00-04 it's a 1, 05-09 is a 2, 10-14 is a 3, and so on.
For a d10, if you roll a 00-09, it's a 1, 10-19 is a 2, and so on.
For a d4, 00-24 is a 1, 25-49 is a 2, 50-74 is a 3, and 75-99 is a 4

It'd be harder for d8's, but doable.
You'd have to roll 3 for d8's. 000-124 is 1, 125-249 is a 2, 250-374 is a 3...

d6s would be much trickier. You'd have to roll 2, but reroll on 99s, 98s, 97s, and 96s. 00-15 would be a 1, 16-31 would be a 2, 32-47 would be a 3, 48-63 would be a 4, 64-79 would be a 6, and 80-95 would be a 6.

This is a perfect way to do dice...I was thinking similar to that but yours is much simpler and much less re-rolling
User avatar #33 - olimpa (01/04/2014) [-]
I am interested but in experienced (I know how to play I just can't play alot because my friends aren't up for it that much, played about 2 encounters worth -.-)

I've been playing D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder, and love those versions, but I would be willing to try different types as well.
User avatar #27 to #26 - pdvamp (04/29/2013) [-]
i've only played 3.5 myself kinda looked at the 4.0 books to help my step father learn(he's only played the original) looks very different but not much harder to learn
User avatar #22 - gnorfell (04/27/2013) [-]
Definately interested!

I'm up for D&D 4e (only played 4e so). Not really experienced as a DM, so I'd prefer to be PC. Let's hope this works out!

Thumbed up in the hope that more FJ'ers see this post!
User avatar #12 to #8 - elf (04/27/2013) [-]
Thanks man...I really appreciate it and you can definetly be in the beta game to see how it works out if you want and you know the books you can get pdf for free so you don't have to stick to 4e right?
User avatar #21 to #12 - ganondork (04/27/2013) [-]
True dat.
User avatar #5 - silverzepher (04/26/2013) [-]
i have never played because i could never find enough people to play with, or to explain the general rules. so if you can get it set up, i'd play.
User avatar #10 to #5 - elf (04/27/2013) [-]
Thats awesome man, You can be in, it's great to have some people that haven't played but are interested in it
User avatar #16 to #10 - silverzepher (04/27/2013) [-]
just send me a message, or a link if you get it started, and show me the ropes.
User avatar #17 to #16 - elf (04/27/2013) [-]
no problem man, who ever DM is I will tell to explain the rules for new comers such as you, so you can learn how to create Characters and how rolling dice will work and how to play an stuff
User avatar #18 to #17 - silverzepher (04/27/2013) [-]
kinky
User avatar #19 to #18 - elf (04/27/2013) [-]
haha you know it

Im game but i dont think a d20 system will work properly. What about a d10 system like deathwatch or rogue trader?
Either way i enjoy the idea and volunteer to dm.
User avatar #9 to #4 - elf (04/27/2013) [-]
lol well actually I really like the dice system rugmaster had bro..but if you wanna DM that'd be cool...I think Rug said he might so I don't think he'll mind playing instead though..
#25 to #9 - zombieconsultant (04/27/2013) [-]
paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/
Here. Take this. I cant Dm 4th edition and i dont want to. This is the D&D system i use. Its pretty compatible with both 4th and 3.5. Its 3.75
#24 to #9 - zombieconsultant (04/27/2013) [-]
Im up for both, so if he wants to do it more than i do let him, otherwise i DM regularly and i write fiction aswell so this format works pretty well for me
User avatar #28 to #24 - elf (04/29/2013) [-]
Ight, man that seems cool...we can run a 3.75 if you wanna DM plus it'd be cool to have a campaing made by the dm rather than a pre made one lol
#29 to #28 - zombieconsultant (05/01/2013) [-]
Any suggestions? I always try to incorporate the players
User avatar #30 to #29 - elf (05/02/2013) [-]
Ahhh, story wise...I don't really know..but it'd be cool if it was made up in a more modern setting..you know?
#31 to #30 - zombieconsultant (05/04/2013) [-]
Yeah, story wise. Modern setting? Like a crossover between classical D&D and our own world? Or du you have a specific reference in mind?
User avatar #32 to #31 - elf (05/06/2013) [-]
No, actually you described it perfectly, like a classic D&D game but crossed over to our world
#23 - rety (04/27/2013) [-]
Used to play, but my group disbanded, definitely interested, I don't have any Dm experience though, but used to be a pc.
User avatar #20 - NinjaHermit (04/27/2013) [-]
Could use this to play: http://www.rptools.net/index.php?page=tools

People wanting to DM can use dungeontime or somethin' to make a post, sharing a little about what kind of campaign/adventure he's looking to run. Interested players can comment and be recruited that way.
User avatar #7 - deathbylucy (04/26/2013) [-]
ive always wanted to learn how to play
User avatar #3 - wazapminecraft ONLINE (04/26/2013) [-]
