#48 to #47 - arandomanon ONLINE (04/01/2013) [-]
No, I tended to cut the thingy I wanted to shop and paste it. I know there's a way to make a .png like in this picture so I can resize and paste it wherever I want but I don't know how to do it.
#49 to #48 - felixjarl ONLINE (04/01/2013) [-]
I also don't know how to make a png. But this is where google comes in. You can google pretty much anything with the word png after it and find what you desire.

Now take this png and paste it on top of something and make me proud!

And for some weird reason the third thing that pooped up when i googled starecat png was furry porn.
#57 to #49 - arandomanon ONLINE (04/01/2013) [-]
Yeah, I guess I can try to google whatever I need.

This is something I did quickly because I'm not in the mood to do it better although I think I can.

Furry porn? Funny.

Just because he says my face when and doesn't add an image doesn't mean the point doesn't get conveyed.

Philosophers*

speaking of which i've always wondered, why does the American version have a wrong different name?
User avatar #82 to #81 - tigersstripes (04/01/2013) [-]
i have no clue, but they did it very diligently, they changed the book cover, every mention in the movie and book was dubbed or changed. I think it was to catch Ameritards attention because philosopher just wasn't cool enough isn't as magical to us.

Well that is rather uncivilised, but since you went there:

I will run you over on my horse, splash boiling tea into your face, smack you with some fish and CHIPS and have my pet bulldog eat your bollocks off while is scream god save the queen at the top of my longs, because this my good friend IS ************* ENGLAND.

but, the real question is, did you ever ask to go to the loo so you could have a chat by the bin with your mate in primary school. If not, you are a fraud

User avatar #110 to #109 - tigersstripes (04/01/2013) [-]
that, that is the very most British thing. I have a question though, what is a Jumper, in America it's a little girls dress with shorts attached, and its not a common item of clothing or name for it. I just thought this may be my only chance to ask...
#113 to #110 - mattkingg **User deleted account** (04/01/2013) [-]

yea i went crazy yesterday about that. Needed to stream it because my sister still has my copy. when i herd Emma Watson say Sorcerers Stone i flipped my **** .
Americans ruin everything. they dumb everything down rather than actually educate people.
If they dont know what a Philosopher is, why not try something outlandish and ******* tell them.
#92 to #81 - corundum (04/01/2013) [-]
It's because in Britain people still understand the older definition of "philosopher." In America, "philosopher" is not understood to mean "alchemist" by a good portion of the public and the title would be misleading.
User avatar #97 to #92 - tigersstripes (04/01/2013) [-]
i had forgotten that philosopher is an alchemist, in America it is someone like, say, Confusious (is that how you spell it?) who sits around thinking all day. someone who is philosophical.
#103 to #97 - mattkingg **User deleted account** (04/01/2013) [-]
Philosopher is still the same as in america, but a philosophers stone is something which a)grants immortal life, b) turns lead to gold or c) turns people into bad asses (see fullmetal alchemist)
User avatar #105 to #103 - tigersstripes (04/01/2013) [-]
so, if anything it should have been switched to Alchemists stone not Sorcerers stone?
#107 to #105 - mattkingg **User deleted account** (04/01/2013) [-]
It's called a philosopher stone in the show?, but if you have to change it to something i guess that would be more appropriate, since it is essentially the top tear of alchemy.

Philosopher doesn't have the same meaning here as in the UK meaning it wouldn't make sense.

America doesn't have the same history, really.
We don't really have a history of alchemy, and so many don't even know what a philosopher is. They might think it meant like Socrates or something.

User avatar #68 to #45 - Shadow Guardian (04/01/2013) [-]
And a sorcerer.
User avatar #71 to #45 - mylazy (04/01/2013) [-]
Actually, Nicholas Flammel was a manuscript seller. He copied and sold manuscripts. He was a real person, who died in the 1400's. Their is no evidence that he was actually an alchemist, but around the 17th century, legends surrounding the man being an ALCHEMIST (not philosopher and not sorcerer) came into existence. There isn't really any evidence supporting that he was one, but that is how it goes. So, while in JK Rowlings' world he was either a philosopher or sorcerer, what he actually was was a scrivener and manuscript seller.
User avatar #118 to #71 - ajperry (04/01/2013) [-]
Yes and if you listen to his description in the book and film.

"Nicholas Flamel, the noted Alchemist, and only known holder of the Philosopher's Stone"
