Did he wack Masterchief over the head with the crowbar and steal his armor? It does look cool regardless.
User avatar #43 to #1 - EpicAnon (07/31/2014) [-]
Because any bulky armor is now HALO property.

Looks more like bulky Dead Space armor.

should fit your wall of accomplishments...

jk but why IS it called a wallpaper?
User avatar #58 to #57 - latadam (07/31/2014) [-]
wow rude man. Dunno, maybe because early designs were just repetitive patterns and looked vague enough to be considered as wallpaper designs.

Lets us all just accept that no matter how good half life 3 will be we will all be disappointed because it will never live up to all the hype.
User avatar #99 to #91 - nickotak (08/01/2014) [-]
idk man. They had to set the bar pretty high for HL2 in order to rival the amazing gameplay of HL1. They performed that task well and i doubt they'll do a bad job with HL3 considering they have redefined FPS games... twice....

Its not going to happen, his voice actor died
#93 to #60 - edwardurahara (08/01/2014) [-]
They could hire me, I do a REALLY good Fordon Freeman impression.
#70 to #60 - John Cena (07/31/2014) [-]
You think he's the first voice actor to ever die? A guy who worked for Valve already said it's in the works and he has seen concept art for it. All else fails they'll just find someone else to voice him. It's not reason enough to not make an HL3 when it's one of the most awaited titles in existence.

Then Black Mesa sold the HEV suit to the UNSC and then Halo happened.
#79 to #53 - John Cena (08/01/2014) [-]
It looks as if it was vice versa.
User avatar #81 to #79 - leonhardt (08/01/2014) [-]
Halo happened after Black Mesa
They didn't have interstellar travel in the Half Life universe, unless you count the resonance cascade.
#83 to #81 - John Cena (08/01/2014) [-]
I mean the suit itself looks influenced by the Mjolnir power armor, as if the artist was going to draw a spartan and changed his mind.
#97 to #53 - thefates ONLINE (08/01/2014) [-]
I wish I could except this at face value as head-cannon but the voice in my head that had me obsessed with Halo for the better part of 4 years has forced me to say no to it simply because of the fact that it took the scientists in Halo years to construct a functioning Mjolnir armor and even longer to construct one that didn't crush the bones of any non-spartan users.

Should I try playing the Half-Life series?
User avatar #46 to #21 - ninjapieguy (07/31/2014) [-]
Yes, but don't bother buying the original Half-Life.
Just get the Black Mesa mod for Half Life 2.
It's free, and has graphics that aren't from the late 90's.
#122 to #21 - nonanonnon (08/01/2014) [-]
Definitely. They've got some really great admin's minions you should check out too, like They Hunger for half life 1 and Black Mesa for half life 2.

Black Mesa: Source - Trailer (Game Trailer HD)
User avatar #22 to #21 - desecrater (07/31/2014) [-]
I suggest just playing Half Life 2. While the first one was fun when it came out, with so much hype in the series, the original will just disappoint you. HL2 was pretty good though for being an older game.
#23 to #22 - baconsparklez (07/31/2014) [-]
With or without episode 1 and 2?
User avatar #25 to #23 - desecrater (07/31/2014) [-]
Go ahead and play episode 1 and 2. All pretty fun

Alright, thanks.
User avatar #48 to #27 - insanemanoo (07/31/2014) [-]
I'm sorry. I generally don't go against other people's opinions very adamantly. But you need to play Half-Life 1 in order to have any idea of what is going on in Half-Life 2. And don't let this guy tell you its not a fun game. It's so fun and immersive that even to this day (16 years after its release) it transcends its terribly dated graphics.
User avatar #24 to #21 - danster (07/31/2014) [-]
If you want to play the original try Black Mesa. It wont disappoint you. Also, yes.

Yes. Play Half-Life, Half-Life 2, both HL2 episodes, and then play the free mod Black Mesa: Source, which is a total recreation of Half-Life 1 with modern graphics and physics.
User avatar #32 to #28 - arziben (07/31/2014) [-]
Not total actually...
It goes up to when you take the Xen portal and stops there.
User avatar #37 to #32 - insanemanoo (07/31/2014) [-]
True, but i figured it would be easier to just say total rather than trying to explain that to someone who's never played Half-Life

makes sense
User avatar #39 to #37 - CrowbarNinja (07/31/2014) [-]

User avatar #44 to #39 - insanemanoo (07/31/2014) [-]
Its a bit more than half....I'd say it's at least 3/4....I generally consider Apprehension to be about the half way point of the game

Absolutely. Although Half-Life 1, Blue Shift, and Opposing Force can be frustratingly difficult at times.

#121 - WitchKingTroll (08/01/2014) [-]
I'm not gonna lie, the suit seems way too bulky and inconvenient for it to be as versatile and aesthetically pleasing as the original HEV suit. This suit seems like it was designed mostly for prolonged combat, rather than the swift and seamless integration of fast-thinking shooting and unhindered movement that I know and love from the Half Life series. Idk, that's just me. If I'm being given a Half Life game, I want it to feel like one and not just another monotonous shooter, you know?
User avatar #100 - priestoftheoldones (08/01/2014) [-]
The H.E.V suit is used for protection against hazardous environments. It's not combat armor.
User avatar #51 - nyangiraffe (07/31/2014) [-]
Boy I can't wait for this game to come out and people to be disappointed, because it will never live up to the hype you people build up for this.
User avatar #77 to #51 - iphoneguy (08/01/2014) [-]
i think the most hype is only about the game actually coming out, not the content
User avatar #88 to #77 - nyangiraffe (08/01/2014) [-]
Yes because people like when **** games ruin their image of a series. Remember how happy Duke Nukem fans were when they finally got Forever?
