Holy **** she is so stupid. Why not give that DJ his own mixer and put him in the other room so at least you can somewhat fake it out.
User avatar #151 - Pacboy (01/02/2014) [-]
this entire time after every number i would look up at the guy and then at the end i realized the lady who i though was just singing next to him is actually the dj

"No Headphones"

you don't need headphones if you are doing it at home alone and have a stereo set, you'd need it in a party where you cant hear the pitches
User avatar #147 to #141 - nicolajibsen (01/02/2014) [-]
the difference here is, that juicy m knows what she's doing, and is kinda good at it...
User avatar #194 to #147 - trolljunkusa (01/02/2014) [-]
She's using sync in all of her **** though
User avatar #205 to #194 - nicolajibsen (01/02/2014) [-]
no... she's not - do you even know how the sync functions works on the cdj 2000 nxs? It doesn't work the same way as it does in VDJ
the only time i've seen her use sync was when she did a tempo transition

but why so much hate on the sync button though?
it only saves you a couple of seconds, to me it doesn't matter if you use sync, or look at the bpm count ant correct yourself
When the CDJ tells you the bpm of the song, why does it then matter?

The first real DJ booth I ever touched was some old denon cd player and a rodec mixer, therefore I've learned to beatmatch by ear
User avatar #206 to #205 - trolljunkusa (01/02/2014) [-]
Sync is basically letting the Mixer do all the work for you. The biggest part of mixing is the beat matching, and when you use a tool to sync up your tracks, you are missing on the most important part of mixing. Sync was designed to be a mistake corrector for newer DJs, not a helping hand for every track
User avatar #208 to #206 - nicolajibsen (01/02/2014) [-]
but there's hardly any difference between moving the pitch corrector yourself and pressing the sync button, as the player tells you the bpm of the song anyways - it's only a matter of seconds...
User avatar #209 to #208 - trolljunkusa (01/02/2014) [-]
You need to login to view this link

This article has both sides of our arguments, but it's main point is

sync is not mixing
User avatar #210 to #209 - nicolajibsen (01/02/2014) [-]
i know it isn't
I do get, that people are against the button, as it eases the process of mixing, and therefore making it easier for anybody who doesn't know what they are doing - but as the article says, there's much more to it than just matching to songs bpm. and due to it being a fact, any proper party hoster would never book a dj that doesn't know what to do

just to prove to you, that i ain't no ******** that knows nothing, i'll just leave these 2 links here

Post is about military
- everyone is in the military
Post is about the hobbit
- everyone is either a blacksmith or a midget or hasn't seen sunlight before or all of the above.
Post is about music
- everyone is a musician
User avatar #187 to #139 - alphagex (01/02/2014) [-]
So what you are saying is that fj is a bunch of midgets who went to the military and are musicians? yeah sounds about right.

In reality we're all neckbeards with as much experience as wearing a wrong fedora with the wrong clothing

I used to play guitar until I took an arrow in the knee I stopped going to lessons and eventually just fell out of it.
User avatar #161 to #139 - thenewgizmobox (01/02/2014) [-]
maybe because there are a lot of people on this site with different experiences and they either look for or happen to come across posts with their interests.
User avatar #153 to #139 - gearshift (01/02/2014) [-]
Or, uh, maybe people who actually work in that area take the chance to comment on the subject since they have experiance with it?

I mean, it's not exactly something you can do just for thumbs or relevance since if you post something that contradicts it somewhere else you'd look like a huge **** .
User avatar #140 to #139 - lasmamoe (01/02/2014) [-]
The reason is that the people who usually comments are the people who are interested in the subject.

I don't give a **** about military for example, so i usually just skip those posts without commenting.

1. You are a DJ

daft punk
and others of course
User avatar #190 to #174 - misticalz (01/02/2014) [-]
Why does Daft Punk come to mind?
Really their whole career was just sampling off of others.
