The beatdowns in American History X had a buildup and meaning to them. They were the product of a lifetime of ingrained bigotry and disillusionment. In the Avenger's, it was an abrupt " **** you, I'm the Hulk, I'm going to repeatedly slam you into the ground" beatdown

Beat down, not ass beating.

were talking about the movie not the comic. the comic is obviously not the same as the movie

The Avengers earned a gross total of $623,357,910 and received enough praise to warrant a sequel for Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America.

They definitely did a poor job.
#56 to #30 - creepyunclebob (02/15/2014) [-]
they already had contracts for all the hero's sequels and Avengers 2 before the first Avengers came out. Also, money made is not a measure of quality. I loved Avengers, but your argument was a bit off.
#28 to #25 - amuzen (02/14/2014) [-]
Actually if you look closely you'll notice they are completely different mediums and what can be an interesting story in a comic series you read over the course of the year is actually absolute ******* **** in a movie you watch in an hour and a half.
User avatar #26 to #25 - littleliz (02/14/2014) [-]
they didnt say it was accurate to the comic. you want accuracy you cant have it because accuracy would be rated r+ for loki and his shenanigans.
#3 - John Cena (02/14/2014) [-]
Does anyone else think they're reading WAY too much into this? I mean these are people. They're actors. They're not ACTUALLY Loki and Thor and whoever else from the Marvel universe.
User avatar #80 to #3 - theuncreativekid ONLINE (02/15/2014) [-]
as an actor I can say that good actors don't just play their characters. Good actors become their characters.
User avatar #4 to #3 - charredenay (02/14/2014) [-]
You're such a hypocrite. You're asking fans to separate fact from fiction while you struggle to come even close to that goal. They are using a scene from a piece of fiction to prove a point concerning that very same piece of fiction.
User avatar #6 to #3 - knightbrolaire (02/14/2014) [-]
But Thor and Loki are supposed to ACTUALLY be Thor and Loki, not actors.
User avatar #17 to #6 - snakephallus (02/14/2014) [-]

User avatar #19 to #17 - chenn (02/14/2014) [-]
Oh my god, really? Never, even in my wildest nightmares, I would imagine Wincest, never ever. There were some fangirls who were into Destiel, and that's okay and even kinda cute, but Wincest? *cringes*
I honestly thought they were exaggerating when they talked about it in one of the episodes, but apparently not. *cringes again*
User avatar #21 to #19 - snakephallus (02/14/2014) [-]
You don't understand the extent to which they love Wincest, and most include pregnancy. Those two are also just above Lucifer and Sam.
#23 to #6 - John Cena (02/14/2014) [-]
Marvel universe Thor and Loki are nothing like the, uh, real deal.
User avatar #27 to #23 - knightbrolaire (02/14/2014) [-]
I wasn't referring to the mythological Norse figures, I meant that the characters aren't supposed to be the actors but their own beings. In the Marvel universe, and nearly every single fictitious one is supposed to show the life of the characters they made which make their emotions real to them. Then there's exceptions like Deadpool, where they're aware they're part of a comic book. But I haven't seen this movie though I would like to, so it is possible OP read too much into it. The community however, doesn't seem to think so.
