Hello everyone! I just need to get this out there because it has been rustling around in my head for awhile. I hate christians that take the bible for a historical reference on everything holy for the christian faith. The bible shouldnt be taken literally, it's more like Wikipedia for christians. Anyone can throw something into the mix to put pain on others. Use it more as a reference on how to be a good person, not just a sword and shield to justify your stupid actions. The biggest thing that bothers me a lot is that there are christians out there that believe that if you do not follow under the belief system of christianity, you are going to hell. That logically makes no sense at all. For an all powerful god that made every signel human in his image and to then spread them all around the world. But, only start the christian belief system in one remote part of the earth then to have anyone that isnt near that place to be forever screwed. So, Ling Bing Ding in a remote part of Nepal is the perfect Renaissance man, but because he isn't labeled a christian he is going to hell. Sounds like the mentality of a 7 year old. With many christians bashing gays saying its against religion and blah blah blah, God supposedly made us in his image. Which logic suggest that he doesn't give two shits if you are gay or not. To end this long rant on all randomness that is religion. I believe that as long as you are a good person at heart and don't do anything extremely bad, you live your life peacefully without conflict, and you live your life with happiness in mind you will go to a happy place after death. If not, well thats on you to find out and believe in.

Thank you for allowing me to vent this to you FunnyJunk. I apologize to anyone for the long post. If this too long to read... CHRISTIANS, SETTLE THE FUCK DOWN!

I don't take everything in the Bible literally but some of it I do. Please understand that we don't believe all sinners go to hell, because the whole point of Jesus' crucifixion was to redeem the sinners so that anyone who believes in Him could go to heaven. Living a good life is recommended, because it will make your life on Earth good. But without faith, it won't matter when we move on to the next life. Believers go to heaven and nonbelievers do not, and this is true regardless of how well they lived their lives. As for your comment about the global distribution of humanity, remember that originally all of humanity was to remain in one place, but because we became to full of ourselves God scattered us across the planet. That's why we have missions that travel around the world teaching the Gospel. So that those who have never heard it can have a chance to enter heaven with us. Our goal is not to condemn each other but save each other.

I agree with you on most of the things you say. But clear this up for me... So when Christianity started, there were people spread far around the globe, along with millions of people that lived and died before Jesus came along. They were all basically screwed to eternal damnation? For the people that dont have the privilege to grow up in a house of Christians or not to have people come preach to them are eternally screwed? Or people who grew up in a household with an Islamic upbringing are screwed even though they believe in a god just a different prophet? With that logic, it means that god created us all in his image he just had a few mistakes along the way that he just wish to burn forever... Why can't you just have faith in god, forget the labels because we created them and just go about your life being good, then go to heaven after death?

They were only screwed because no one who knew the Gospel made the effort to travel to them and witness to them. Because of the bad choices we made, we've taken it upon ourselves to save people by sharing the Good News with them. So when people go to hell simply from not knowing Christ, it's on our heads because we didn't get the message to them. And don't say God made any mistakes. He is perfect and does nothing unintentionally. As for your last question, the reason we have to focus on Jesus Christ alone is because the only reason humans even have access to heaven is because of Christ. Without Him we'd all go to hell, so the only way we can be accepted into heaven is if we accept His invitation.

By someone not knowing about Christianity, or not accepting Jesus as their prophet, but prays to god, and is the picture perfect "Christian"... Is going to hell? That logically makes no sense, considering god loves all his children and he created us all in his image. Which means, he loves everyone that carries the label that we created, everyone else can suck it. Please clear this up for me, I just don't understand why this train of thinking is accepted.

If they don't know about Christ how can they possibly be Christian? Even if they know about Him, they would have to accept Him as well. If they know about Him but reject Him, then they're not real Christians. Also, there's not such thing as a "picture-perfect Christian" since no one can be perfect except Jesus, and He was Jewish.

And as I just explained, Jesus gave us a gift, and we have a choice to accept it or reject it. If we accept it, we're in, if we reject it, we're not. How is that so difficult to grasp?

Ok I'm sorry if what I'm saying isn't clearly said. I really appreciate the insight here Sir Jokeface. So, God created us in his image and loves us all dearly and accepts us all as his children, right? So why would he punish the people that have not heard of the christian religion or embrace it, even though they pray to a god? I kind of understand what you mean by us having to travel and teach all about christianity but that just seems like the it can be taken to so many different ways, many evil and perverted ways. Also, if god loves us all, why would he refuse entrance into heaven for those who lived happy perfect lives that would considered that perfect "christian." Just because they live under a different label. Or the people that were born way before Jesus came along. Just because they didn't label themselves Christian they are screwed? Just a personal question geared towards you, just to see if you agree or not. My wifes parents are Luthern and they believe that because I'm not luthern that I am going to hell... Do you agree with that notion or not? Anyway, thank you for the responses.

We don't view hell as God actively punishing nonbelievers. Rather, God is welcoming us into heaven and those who refuse to go there are just lost, and hell is the spiritual manifestation of a world without God. It's complete separation from Him. It's not God torturing people, it's people being tortured by the sins that they chose to commit to instead of God.

The reason decent people can't go to heaven without accepting Christ is because righteousness is no based on how well we obey the law and be nice to people and all that. Romans 3:20 says: "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law; Rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin." What this means is that the law was not implemented for the purpose of separating the sinners from the righteous, but rather to make us realize that no one is able to be righteous, and that the only way to be forgiven by God is to accept the blood of Christ. If you don't do that, then you're basically saying "I know Jesus died for my sins so that I could have eternal life in heaven, but I want to pay for my sins myself." And God hears that and He's like, "Okay, you may do that. You don't have to, but if you insist, then you don't have to enter heaven."

As for those who died before Christ came along, I'm not completely sure. Honestly I now feel very foolish, because until today I had recalled being taught that everyone went to hell before Christ. But now I'm checking new Christian sources and they interpret the Bible to be saying that those who lived before Christ were able to be saved as well. However, not all of these sources are saying the exact same thing. Some are saying they were saved through faith in God, others say they were saved through faith in the Christ that was foretold in prophecy. But just the other day I read a source saying everyone went to Sheol, a place for both the righteous and the sinners. Prior to that, I was told everyone went to hell. So I honestly don't know.

And don't worry about your denomination. Eternal life will be given to all who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, regardless of their label, their ceremonies, their rituals, or their leaders.

It still all goes against my logic and reasoning, but what the hell nothing is anyway. I know all of this makes sense to you and i applaud you for your knowledge. For me, none of it makes sense, it all sounds just off. Like the actions of a 12 year old. But anyway, have a good one and thank you again for explaining stuff for me.
