Completely idiotic.
Who would want state or church interfere in their relationship with their loved one?

actually marriage has much more value than that, (not talking about feelings here just marriage advantage)
-shared health care
-less tax

And for church, well obviously uoi won't see any gay weddings to church.

In democratic countries, groups of people should be able to come together to oppose specific subjects just like people can come together to support a subject.

The only people I hate are the single issue voters who vote only because someone is pro/against gay marriage. There are actually far more important things to worry about, but it should not be something that is forgotten.

As time goes on, the baby boomers in congress will retire and more socially liberal politicians will take their place. It just takes time.

This shouldn't have to be an issue.

Deciding who marries based on fundamental religious beliefs is just flat out barbaric and tyrannical.

I once heard a rep. of (I think) New York say "If men can marry men, should we let people marry Ice-cream?". I nearly broke my TV with all the rage.

But because of their religious beliefs, shouldn't the church be able to refuse to marry people? Until they re-write the Bible so it isn't as antiquated.
