I'm really sorry for the delays. Let's get right down to business.

Artist: The Mars Volta
Album: Noctourniquet
Genre(s): Progressive rock, Electronic rock, Experimental rock
Number of Songs: 13
Total Length: (approx.) 65 minutes
Other Editions: Japanese version has a live version of the song The Malkin Jewel

Let me just start off by saying this is one of my favorite albums of all time. The beats are incredibly awesome. I don't know if some of them are in another time signature (I'm usually only good at figuring out if it's 4/4 time, which is standard), but whatever these guys are doing, they're doing it right. This album has catchy songs like albums usually do, but whenever I find myself humming a song off the album, I actually want to listen to the entire album. I usually just want to keep humming the same part of the song in my head. Songs like The Whip Hand, Zed And Two Naughts, and Dyslexicon are only a handful of songs that you'll find yourself enjoying. If you aren't able to pick up on the lyrics the first couple of times (I usually miss the lyrics the first couple times I listen to an album), I can almost guarantee that you won't even care. The music almost puts you into a trance. I can listen to this album so many times and in a day (I'm allowed to listen to music in between classes in school, and there have been days when I've played this album several times between when I walk to and from school) and not get bored of it. I have not doubt that this is a solid 10/10. Definitely pick this up.

Tomorrow I'll be going over a CD I got today, which is the album King of the Beach by the band Wavves. For some special information, see my comment below.

*Side Note* - I'm going to be doing some traveling and not being able to listen to music right away for the next couple days, so chances are that the reviews will come later than normal. I might not even be able to do one on Saturday. I promise you that I'll try to have them to you as soon as I possibly can.

Just in case he/she doesn't get a chance to repost it here, aerialz requested the album Fables From A Mayfly: What I Tell You Three Times Is True by the band Fair To Midland.

Now for that special information. Because I'm going to be away for a little over a week and won't have my CD collection at hand to see what I'm going to be doing next (I won't actually be able to use the collection for a couple weeks, but for unrelated reasons), so that means I can start taking your requests! The first genre I'll be taking requests for is alternative metal. Here are some rules/guidelines:

1. You request can't be of a band/artist I've already talked about.
2. You can request an band/artist and let me choose the album, or you can choose both a band/artist and an album and hope it gets picked.
3. Alternative metal does not have to be the sole genre of the band/artist. It simply has to be one of the genres of the band/artist or of the album.
4. The deadline will (possibly) be different each time. I'm making it based off of when I post the genre to be requested. I'll try to give it around 24 hours.

All the request will be put into a randomized program, so if your's isn't picked, please don't think that I personally didn't pick you. I feel that a program can make it more random than I can with eenie-meenie-miney-mo.

I'll be posting the genre for the requests the day before the previous request (for example, I'll do a review on Thursday and post the genre, on Friday I'll do the review for that day and then the next genre to be requested, and on Saturday I'll be reviewing the chosen request from Thursday. It sounds complicated, and just writing it down is making me second guess my logic. It should work out well though).

Because this is the first time I'm doing this, you have until 12 A.M. on Saturday to request an alternative metal band/artist (and an album, if you would like). This gives you nearly 24 hours from now. In the event that there are no requests, I'll just choose a random album from a mega-list of bands I have been creating. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a reply here or send me a message.

So yeah, alternative metal.

You should review Mr. Bungle's debut album.

I like how you gave a number of albums to choose from. If your name gets chosen in the randomized generator, I'll put the albums into the generator and see which one gets picked.

Also, Filter, A Perfect Circle, and 10 Years are awesome. I don't believe I've heard Porcupine Tree or Taproot, but I'm sure they're awesome.

I do enjoy me some Deftones. And actually, I suggested alt metal because of the huge-ass list of bands I'm making. I've been looking through Wikipedia lists of bands by sub-genre, and alt metal was the first one I went through. I have a bunch of alt metal bands on said list, but in case I missed any, I can add these to the list. I still plan on listening to all the suggested bands, even if they weren't picked in the thingy.

I might take you up on that offer one day. And the same to you. So far my list has over 400 bands/artists, and I'm not even close to halfway done yet.

Oh, and I'm writing the Wavves review right now.
