Doing slashpile burning in British Columbia. We weren't supposed to burn on windy days, but we lit this up, thinking it'd be okay, and then had to sit and watch it for two hours until it burned down, putting out spot fires in the treeline.
B.C. having millions of hectares of pine beetle infested trees, half the pines in the province are dead. I saw trees candling one after another when we ****** up and the fires jumped to the treeline. We got lucky those days.
Our small company had to pay $10,000 insurance just to get the contract because if you start a forest fire, and they have to call in equipment, you pay for it.
