It's a basilisk. which raises another question, why do movies and books often call giant snakes of death Basilisks?

It's a mythical creature that had likely came of being from many sources. Since the core idea is still reptile..the image of lizards and snakes could both be used as a Basilisk..(wikipedia..it's awesome) haha
