What's with crap like this? These people are professional murderers who don't deserve the respect.

arguing on the internet is like competing in the special olympics. even if you win, you're still retarded. but i might as well tell you my take on this- it's disgusting to call these people "professional murderers" as they risk everything to fight for a cause and serve the nation in a horrible area of the world. but i have to point out that the war in Iraq is totally corrupt and unnecessary, we could have done without the war in Afghanistan, innocent civilians will indeed always get killed by troops from both sides, and it's unrealistic to say that the army is "defending our freedom" -- an extremist terrorist group won't exactly invade the world's most powerful ******* nation, except of course for the one time freak event of 9/11.

The London Bombings? and several other attacks elsewhere in the world..this was not a "one time freak event"
User avatar #654 to #406 - lukelbd (09/25/2010) [-]
yea, you're right. we should totally invade a ******* nation because a few guys strap a bomb to his chest. **** off, retard. and i'm talking about OUR nation, not ******* britain. this is a national security issue, not a MILITARY issue.

#239 to #234 - John Cena (09/24/2010) [-]
Dude, the American people ASKED Bush to start the war. We WANTED it to happen. 9/11 upset the public more than you can imagine. More money was donated in the aftermath of 9/11 than any other period of the United States' existence. People enlist in the military of their own free will. THEY SIGNED UP FOR IT ON THEIR OWN. They know the risks, and yet they fight. Don't even question why they are there.

Well because, Al Qaeda is like a disease, you have to stop terrorists before they become too strong. Same thing with Pearl Harbor, they destroy our biggest naval base in the Pacific, and if we didnt fight back, we would have had to fight WWII in America. Basically, we are sending our brave soldiers over so we dont have to worry about terrorists. Plus because we are over there, Baghdad is the safest airport in the world right now, and people can finally send their kids outside.
User avatar #244 to #237 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
*sigh* with World War 2 The Japanese destroyed pearl harbor so we drop 2 atom bombs and killed thousands of thousands of innocent civilians.
User avatar #262 to #244 - getmeacookie (09/24/2010) [-]
Alright now i know that many people dont have the stomach for civilian casualties but in reality its how we won the war, now im not saying that its appropriate for this war, but it was appropriate for world war 2, it was a full out war, they were fanatics who would jump off cliffs rather than be captured by the americans, so if we wanted to win the war we had to bring them down to their knees by nuking them, it was either them or us and i was glad it was them
User avatar #260 to #244 - Hippiekiller (09/24/2010) [-]
its called ending a ******* war that THEY started dumbass. Dont blame america blame the dirty jap government that bombed us in the first place.
#251 to #244 - John Cena (09/24/2010) [-]
The loss of innocent lives is always sad, but better them than us. If we invaded Japan, then we would have lost as many men as they did with our bombs. It's their own fault for not surrendering in the first place. If anything, you should be mad at politicians, and sorry for the soldiers.
User avatar #255 to #251 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
The difference is that we dropped 2 bombs on Japan and they gave up, but if Japan would've dropped 2 bombs we would've just sacrifice more people.
User avatar #247 to #244 - Jaredwho (09/24/2010) [-]
Yes the atomic bomb was severe. But the projected Death Toll of a full land invasion of Japan tops 1 million. In no way am I justifying the bombing, but those two cities are now booming with industry, and America basically rebuilt Japan afterwards
User avatar #250 to #247 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
And I'm pretty sure the rest of the world wants america to mind their own business D:
User avatar #374 to #250 - guymandude (09/25/2010) [-]
People say that, but they really have no idea how deeply invested we are with every country in the world. Do you know what the first thing that would have happened had we "minded our own business?" First, Israel would fall and be taken over by a hostile country, since Israel is probably our best ally that we constantly need to protect, since it is a country literally filled with oil and religious sacred grounds. The danger is intensified by the fact that they are SURROUNDED by enemy territories. The warfare that would come from us leaving would be far worse for the entire planet then what is happening now. It's not like I have enough room to completely explain the chain of events, but short version: NOT GOOD.

Apparently you don't know the meaning of Curiosity. You tell me my country is wrong for defending itself, you tell me we are wrong for a retaliation of 9/11. User avatar #279 to #272 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
I have not said that there is anything wrong for defense, I didn't even mention 9/11. I know not of your commander in chief, and I would appreciate if you wouldn't use profound words so we can talk.

User avatar #295 to #279 - PTTN (09/25/2010) [-]
Really, you don't know the President of the United States. War is all around us, you can not stop people from being the people they are. I became a Marine to make a difference. I protect my family and friends. This whole thread makes me sick.

Thats where you're wrong. I've seen people change other people completely
User avatar #314 to #299 - PTTN (09/25/2010) [-]
I reiterate, this thread makes me sick. You make me sick. Without us, where would you be? Would you want to be in a place like Uganda, where the military kills their own? Or would you want people to fight for the freedom of a country. I know people who have died, but they died protecting what they love. Obviously, you would not want to give your life for the sake of your own country. Killing happens, death happens. **** happens.
User avatar #317 to #314 - KAPkiba (09/25/2010) [-]
As i stated before I never said anything about soldiers they fight for my life, I would die for my country if I was given the chance. I know killing happens and death happens but does it justify itself?
User avatar #331 to #317 - PTTN (09/25/2010) [-]
Yes, everything happens for a reason. If you ever, with the smallest chance, find yourself in the military, (best quote ever) "Once you accept the fact, that you are already dead, you will function like a soldier. No mercy, no compassion." Maybe then you will understand the justification of killing. Picking of these towel heads one by one means there is less of a chance that we will be attacked. What's one life for hundreds?
User avatar #338 to #331 - KAPkiba (09/25/2010) [-]
No matter what killing will never be justified, you know only your thoughts you don't know who will kill whom in the future.

We are a world power. People in Afghanistan asked us to help them. We didn't ask to be bombed. People in England didn't asked to be bombed. People all over the world aren't asking for these terrorists. If we could, we wouldn't even have gone there in the first place. Terrorists don't understand "compromise". They understand "STRENGTH".
User avatar #259 to #256 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
America needs not worry about other countries and worry about their own society
User avatar #269 to #259 - Petroleum ONLINE (09/24/2010) [-]
Our society is a brilliant one, we have free thinking minds bringing you new technologies and new renovations day after day, the troops we send out to keep peace are the same men and women that help keep these brilliant minds safe at work, if you make an injustifable argument about black people, you are a racist, but really, show some goddamn respect, these people risk every second of time they spend outside with about twenty pounds of equipment stuck on them, and they do it so you can sit in front of your computer, right now, to try to think of a witty response, which will inevitably come
User avatar #271 to #269 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
And no, how can I be racist against black people? I know none, I cannot speak against that which I not know.
User avatar #270 to #269 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
That may be a part of this society but not of the entirety of it.
User avatar #273 to #270 - Petroleum ONLINE (09/24/2010) [-]
Perfection is a hard objective, maybe you should spend your time working towards that, instead of sitting in front of your computer typing
User avatar #275 to #273 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
Why would I? I have tried throughout my life with no plausible results.
User avatar #278 to #275 - Petroleum ONLINE (09/24/2010) [-]
Therefore perfection cannot be achieved, instead of asking for the perfect government and society, perhaps you should try to make your own society better.
User avatar #283 to #278 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
Why cannot perfection be achieved? I ask not for the perfect government but rather non hostility
User avatar #297 to #283 - junkboy (09/25/2010) [-]
non hostility is an impossible objective. As long as any difference separates two thoughts a compromise is impossible unless one of the groups is yielding.
Humanity is not perfect and never shall be. All thought does not point towards one goal. One man may dream of peace but another may dream of power and you cannot control what somebody may think. You may however change what he thinks. And on a greater thought, what is perfection and how would you justify it?
User avatar #287 to #283 - Petroleum ONLINE (09/24/2010) [-]
That is part of perfection, and I quote "As long as there is emotion, there shall always be hatred, as long as there is hatred, there is war, as long as there is war, there is no peace"
If you wanted no hostility, ask all the people in the world to drop religion, drop science, drop all their opinions and become similar minded sheep and follow someone
User avatar #290 to #287 - KAPkiba (09/24/2010) [-]
I'm sorry I didn't clarify what i mean't. I mean hostility with no good reason.
And I am glad that I can talk to someone without them using insulting words.
#420 to #290 - John Cena (09/25/2010) [-]
just answer me this one question,

say you were arguing with some guy and all of the sudden he punches you square in the face, knocking you to the ground. Your friend (pretending, of course, that you actually have one) steps in and starts beating his ass. His friends join in and so do more of yours. next thing you know both of your friends are going at it.

Would you be angry at your friends for fighting? Would you disagree with the reasoning and say that it was hostility without cause?

Just because the attack wasn't on you directly and just because you can't see the threat as clearly as in the example above doesn't mean that it isn't there and that the soldiers fighting aren't defending and protecting you just as much.
User avatar #294 to #290 - Petroleum ONLINE (09/25/2010) [-]
We attacked Afghanistan for a reason, the thousands of lives America lost on that day angered too many, their emotions tore through their simple clothing of flesh, and they gnashed their teeth and roared at the government to strike back, the wars were caused by one feud or another, one religion disagreement or another, look at the Crusades, they were caused by ignorant knights who thought the Jews were uncivilized, hell, look at WWII, Hitler started killing people because he hated just one race, and his dreams of "perfection"
User avatar #302 to #294 - KAPkiba (09/25/2010) [-]
Perfection can be defined in many thoughts
User avatar #312 to #302 - junkboy (09/25/2010) [-]
Perfection is not realistic. Ask 100 people what they think the meaning of life is and I promise you will get a different answer from every person no matter how much they sound alike they picture it differently than any other. The human mind is unique to every person and nothing could truly unify a justifiable belief. This goes for religion, scientific and equivalent belief.

I apologize for my english if i made any grammatical errors
