the old Metallica was fucking epic. "And Justice for All" and "Master of Puppets" are still two of my favorite albums of all time. People bash the new Metallica, but its just a different sound. Same epicness, just in a different style.

i think that its bullshit that anyone would say that you arent a fan if you like the new stuff. I like everything. Metallica has changed alot but they arent like this new pussy cockbiting music where the opening riffs are heavy and then they just go to a top 40 style talking about thier girlfriend. James voice is still godly. and if u wanna talk shit about kirks playing, well then lets see you do a triple set solo. Lars is still a badass, robert isnt the same as jason newstead or cliff, but he's still an amazing bassist. I love everything Metallica has ever done, from 1983 to today. i have yet to hear a song that i do not like. I even love st.anger. if you say that im not a real fan b/c of that, then u sir, are a douche

I dont mind a little change but Metallica changed a lot , the lyrics suck, James voice is shot, nothing special guitar playing, they even did a rap song. Its easy to weed out the fake fans, once they tell you they like the newer Metallica you know.

we all miss the good old metallica but they dont suck now. they still play their good old stuff. they just release worse stuff now. load and reload had more mature songwriting and people said MORE METAL MORE METAL. so then metallica said "you want metal? here you go. St Anger. you like this sound? this is what most bands sound like nowadays. empty songs with awful sounding music. oh you dont like it do ya? stfu then" st anger is proof metalica have a sense of humour. death magnetic...meh not too awful.
