God, where has the youth generation gone? Not saying everyone's like this, but just around 70% I know 70% of my class is like this (girls that is) Even some of the guys don't mind Beiber music. All these younger kids, I'm talking 3rd-7th, swearing, saying they watch porn, drink, done drugs, watch "edgy stuff" YOUR NOT COOL. YOU'RE JUST A TOOL BEING BRAINWASHED BY THE BIG CORPORATIONS, WHO TELL YOU WHAT'S COOL AND WHAT TV SHOWS TO WATCH, WHAT MUSIC TO LISTEN TO, AND WHAT YOU SHOULD BUY FROM THEM TO MAKE A PROFIT. Goddamnit! When are these morns gonna learn. You're not stricken from the path. Even 4chan, by being in a massive group who obey the same rules YOU'RE ******* CONFORMIST. Rant over.

I agree with you, all the 7th graders who think they're cool are actually faggots and douchebags who should die in a pit a fire.

I saw what looked like a first grader at Target yesterday with an Iphone listening to Hannah Montana, and something else along those lines. I pulled out my tracfone and began to cry.

Back in my days, young squid girls used to do stuff and stuff and now look at those young squid girls today...drowning in oil. I tell ya, this youth generation has really changed.

When i was growing up i was listening to pink floyd/stones, ******* anything that moved just because it was easy sex (fat chicks mostly), getting completely wasted at parties. Not shaving or cuttin my hair for weeks on end, goin on insane road trips and generally not giving a **** about what i looked lik or anyone else. Now i have 16 kids and front one of the best rock bands that ever was.

My little brothers friend is like that. He's a little black kid that curses all the time. And whenever there is reports of gang related violence on TV, he like, cheers outloud. He's EIGHT.

Continuation of rant:
**** ALL MUSIC TODAY. I'd say only about 15% is actually good, rest is CRAP. I HATE, DESPISE people who said The Beatles, The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ELO, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Elton John, Madonna, ect. were overated. No, numb nuts, you're opinion is overrated.

Then you walk out of your house and cant do anything about it.

The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ELO, Queen, Fleetwood Mac (Fleetwood PC, lol), Billy Joel, Elton John, Madonna, etc. weren't overrated... I just don't like their music...

And if you want to be technical, since almost anything you do has been or is being done by someone else, you will always in some way be "conformist" to something...

It takes balls to admit that music is good but not to your tastekudos to you good sir
User avatar #49 to #47 - satanisthesavior (06/07/2010) [-]
I don't really think there is good and bad music, there is only music you do and do not like...
#51 to #49 - Filby **User deleted account** (06/07/2010) [-]
I'd probably disagree there. There is DEFINITELY bad music out there. The only reason it's successful is the so-called "tween" demographic. Those little ***** influence the charts more than anyone else. How else can you explain Bieber, Cyrus (the young whore, not her mullet-toting dad), and other **** like that?
User avatar #58 to #51 - satanisthesavior (06/07/2010) [-]
They aren't bad... I don't like to listen to them, but that doesn't make it bad music...

And since tweens are the majority of music listeners, why shouldn't they have the most influence?
#60 to #58 - Filby **User deleted account** (06/07/2010) [-]
But they're not the majority, they only make up 12 per-cent of the public, at least over here
User avatar #103 to #60 - satanisthesavior (06/07/2010) [-]
While tweens might only make up 12% of the PUBLIC, they listen to more music than any other age group, so they have a much bigger influence with regards to MUSIC.

Think about it this way: In a room, you have 4 tweens, 5 young adults and 6 old(er) adults. (this means the room is 27% tween)
Each tween buys, on average, 20 CD's a year. Each young adult, 15 CD's a year. Each old(er) adult, 10 CD's a year.
So, the tweens would buy 80 CD's a year, the young adults 75 CD's a year and the old(er) adults 60 CD's a year. (this means tweens hold 37% of the market)
Which group would you market to? Exactly...

Correct, "bad" in itself mean disliked by the majority. Bot, in this case, majority LIKES it. It boggles the mind, but, when you really break it down, there's: Production Value, how hard they worked on making their creation; Lasting Power, how it will be continuously bought and remember; Lyrics, how creative and inspirational the songs words are; and Musical Composition, basically, how "good it sounds" how well the harmonies and melodies blend together to for them final product. Music today basically fails on all those account, doesn't give a **** about quality, and are all about quantity, setting an image, and making sales.
User avatar #91 to #56 - satanisthesavior (06/07/2010) [-]
I disagree. Actually listened to a few songs by "bad" (by your standards) artists, and even though I didn't like it, it sounded well put together, and all the different things that go into it (instruments, second and lead vocals, etc.) sounded well-chosen and well-done. And about the lyrics: they all sounded pretty good to me. I honestly think you are judging the music more harshly because it just doesn't sound "good" to you... However, you are right about one thing: They don't have a lot of staying power...

And since when has making music NOT been (at least in part) about making sales?
