I recently started watching TNG. My dad was a huge fan back in the day and had most of the episodes on VHS.

I don't like how movies make ST out to be a nerd thing.. This show is tight.

The show improves. It starts out good and becomes great, I watched all 7 seasons last year on Netflix

Worf getting a cameo in "Into Darkness" is total ********. I was at DS9 con this year and met Michael Dorn (picture of him left during con). He definitely was not offered a role in the new films. There was also a rumor they wanted him to play a regular klingon (NOT Worf) in the film. Neither of those rumors are true.

However, Dorn did want to make a TV show about Worf explicitly called "Captain Worf" or something where it was primarily his character ruling the show. Parmount shot it down, stating they didn't want to mess with his character/background. He said if fans want Paramount to do Captain Worf they need to write in to the studio and get support. It will probably never happen.

Also Jake Sisko wasn't in many episodes because of child labor laws, Cirroc Lofton wasn't even 18 for most of the series yet. His pal Nog (played by Aron Eisenberg who by random luck I got to have dinner with) was older than him during the show, he's actually a dwarf and played the role of a child on the show along with young Jake.

Live long and prosper.

"Although Data loves Spot, Brent Spiner hates cats with a passion"
Well then he's not the man I thought he was..

Yes, absolutely. I wrote a review of "Star Trek Generations" a few months ago. I watched it in HD after intentionally hating on it for a a long time.

Generations isn't that bad of a film. It does give the TNG cast their time in the spotlight. Brent Spiner also gave epic comedy relief in the film with his emotional chip for Data. It's the rest of the movie that was crap. It had a pretty weak story line. Most of the movie felt really forced in an effort to make the captains meet face to face.

I seen Bill Shatner in person a year ago and he basically said it was just another job at the time and the "pay was good". But I think looking back, he probably regrets doing it. There is no hope now of him ever returning as Captain Kirk.
