Oblivion is better anyways
User avatar #67 to #31 - platypusemperor (09/23/2013) [-]
Oblivion had way better storylines in my opinion and Skyrim's main quest was horrible really. Just run around kill this dragon kill this dragon.
User avatar #55 to #31 - scowler (09/23/2013) [-]
Yeah, Skyrim got old pretty quick. It's not good when a game gets old before you complete it.
User avatar #56 to #55 - heroofkvatch (09/23/2013) [-]
I just feel it lacks the RPG elements that i loved about morrowind and oblivion.

Idk, guess i'm alone in my opinion, but to each their own.
User avatar #59 to #56 - scowler (09/23/2013) [-]
You're right. It was more visual flair than anything, not exactly a bad thing since the weapons and armor in oblivion could look a tad too ornamental at times. They toned that down in Skyrim. I hope they keep the practical looks, but up the RPG quality with their next game.
User avatar #63 to #59 - heroofkvatch (09/23/2013) [-]
i do enjoy dual weilding and the viking/celtic feeling the nords give off (i love nords so very, very much)

the armor and weaponry was pretty sweet in skyrim as well, but i don't like the mechanics of leveling up, the menu, or how dangerous it was to go alone and try to adventure.

Skyrim is for hardcore gamers? i guess i'll go back to that casual suck fest that is Morrowind
User avatar #35 to #1 - McFuckUp (09/23/2013) [-]
In all honesty, you aren't missing much in my opinion. Game was kind of overrated. They sell you on this beautiful landscape, and every mission is in a ******* cave or dungeon. Dragon fights weren't all that exciting either.
User avatar #66 to #35 - platypusemperor (09/23/2013) [-]
I played and liked Skyrim and he's right anyway. I guess its the ol' opinion on fj deal

well i think you should it is a cool game and is even cooler with mods
User avatar #60 to #25 - scowler (09/23/2013) [-]
That's any Bethesda RPG on PC. Hell, if I could build a PC, it'd be for their games, because mods can make up for any gripes.

Or just download it from piratebay

arent the system reqs kind of high?
User avatar #49 to #22 - alltimetens (09/23/2013) [-]
Not really. I have an i5 Inspiron laptop that is supposedly unable to run Skyrim, but on low graphics, I can run it smoothly. The only time it gets laggy is when I'm running into a forest because my computer has to process so many shadows and details at once. Other than that, just keep all your shadows, item fades, player and npc fades, and turn off your grass display. Works fine. But with some mods that enhance graphics, I can play as if I was playing on medium settings with low settings performance.
User avatar #43 to #22 - felex (09/23/2013) [-]
Tell your system performance and I will gladly tell what you need to do.

Mods thread?
User avatar #74 to #29 - mitchr (09/23/2013) [-]
I was going to start it out with a picture from the Dwemer Head mod; it adds a piece of armor to the game that takes up the body slot. It is nothing more than a giant Centurion Head, leaving your hairy Nord legs in the wind, and covering your face as well.

The picture showed him playing tag with children.
User avatar #77 to #76 - mitchr (09/23/2013) [-]
I unfortunately could not find the mod or its accompanying silly mods (full-sized chest as a helmet, Elder Scroll baseball bat) on the Nexus. It may have been deleted, which would be most unfortunate.

Game felt so stale after a while since you could abuse the crap out of stealth and magic while a melee-build only got viable very late in the game.

And if you ever ran into a greater challenge just use health potions until you can't see the horizon, talk about flatting the difficulties and the RPG-element..
