Are you talking about when the Great War broke out or when people started using bottle caps? Because the war started on October 23rd, 2077, and there's no specified date as to when the merchants in the Hub who were the first ones to use BC's as currency began using them, it's only known it was somewhere during the 22nd century.

Inflation is supposed to raise by about 2% a year. $20 in 1998 is $28.70 in today's money. It's worth noting that people's income also increases as does minimum wage. I have an A level in economics

If you have an A in economics you should also be aware that the cost of living (i.e. the products above and more) has been increasing significantly faster than most wages.

This is particularly visible in real-estate, where many areas have had their value DOUBLE over the last 10-15 years leaving the average workers (not min-wage the average solid salary workers') pay behind in a pile of dust.

Yep, although it seems to raise slightly faster than the wages do. Also, what country was he living in in 1998 where 20 dollars bought all that ****? I'm not sure I could get that much stuff back in 1988 either for 20 bucks.

Since I've made more than minimum wage the last 5 years, my income has never been increased due to the minimum rising. My wage has increased maybe 1.50 due to my small raises every 6 months.

The other thing people always forget is the standard of living.
Your dollar may not be able to buy as much of the same product as it could have the year before, but you sure as hell couldn't buy a smartphone for $200 in 1998

Well, I remember a hundred bucks at the grocery store would net me and my family a nearly overflowing cart. When working at a grocery store a few years ago, a hundred bucks filled maybe half a cart.

However, if minimum wage matched inflation, it would be $10.32. However, as somebody stated already, cost of living has been rising stupidly high. When I was in Northern California (in Humboldt County which only has 100,000 people in it) a tiny studio apartment in a random part of town with no windows or views that my bedroom back home is the size of, was 900 bucks a month. Me and my roommate had a deal where is was "only" 650 a month.

In short, cost of living is a bitch these days, and minimum wage being even more retarded isn't helping.

...Inflation isn't a one-way street, princess. There's this thing we have now, called "the economy." And the minimum wage in past years, with inflation calculated to current date USD, is $21 an hour.

Minimum wage doesn't follow NEARLY as close behind inflation as it should in this country.

"Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out, and by the Eternal God, I will rout you out."

Isn't it great that Jackson's biggest goal was to keep out big federal banks that was literally his biggest goal. On his death bed he was qouted as saying i beat the banks. Kinda ironic that now his face is on one of the most widely used bills in the world.

He also was the "victim" of an assassination attempt. Both the assassin's pistols misfired then three aides had to pull Jackson off the shooter to keep him from beating the man to death with his cane. The pistols were inspected and found to be in perfect working order. Presumably, the bullets were just terrified of him.

Who said anything about losing weight I'm talking about eating healthy foods to have a healthy body of course you can work out every day of your life but for a lot of people that's not an easy life style especially when your balancing school and jobs also McDonald's makes me feel really sick whenever I've eaten there i really prefer food that's not completely processed crap of course the food you get from grocery stores will have hormones in it, that cant be avoided with todays consumption but its better than meat that's bean grinded into a paste and reformed into a paddy so I'm sorry what bull **** are you talking about?

$20 can also buy A LOT at McDonald's (from the dollar menu), but it isn't healthy and will contribute to the obesity problem if that's the only thing you can afford to eat on your budget. So I'm curious, are the 3 meals healthy at all?

Another thing the video forgot to mention is that if they rise the minimum wage, employers will eventually have to rise all the wages (since your wage would suddenly be minimum even though it wasn't before). This will eventually cause the increase in price of stuff to cover the increasing wages and then inflation happens. It would be good on the short-run but in the long run you end where you started (but with more inflation)/
