No, Canada has actual freedom, not American freedom, where you lose rights slowly but surely and keep taking it in the ass from your government with a smile on your faces.

Your freedom is limited to not being able to take my freedom. Example, you're not free to assault me because that would take away my freedom to not be brutally beaten to death.

Seeing as multiple years of ****** school years with people trying to fight other people I learned how to fight so weather or not this guy lives will be up to science.
User avatar #7 to #5 - radtroll (09/20/2013) [-]
you're not free to smoke weed although you're not affecting anyone?
y?
User avatar #8 to #7 - orkanoidz (09/20/2013) [-]
It's quite simply really. The american government is full of politicians, not scientists, doctors, normal people, educators. It's full of law people and politicians. We run our country by by being forced to elect people who only know law and not actual people to represent people.

That and overall human stupidity, or in that case, claiming land as your land, so that as the ruler of your land you have absolute control. Cause, you know, anyone who willingly came with you on that ship with you being the leader practically signed up to have you rule them with an iron fist. <- and in that perspective almost every human rights movement except for some like the blacks (Who where brought here by force.) don't get to complain because they came willingly without thinking of the consequences.

Isn't history nice?

and that is why, my friend, I got into science, because since I was 9 I hated history, .. **** that **** science have boobs.

Could that also be because it is a lot easier to catch criminals now using cameras and other technology rather than going by word of mouth? Also, laws were a lot different back then than now and I assume quite a lot easier to evade the law as well.
#18 to #6 - anon (09/20/2013) [-]
probably because there is a difference between freedom and and being barbarians. yes there are LAWS that you have to follow to maintain your freedom, also, some people go to jail for a BETTER life, i.e. homeless people, and american prisons are far from being terrible places. 3 meals a day, a roof on your head, free gym/entertainment room hell thats more than i have and i have a clean record. not to mention America is a huge drug trafficking hub, and a home to several, several different international mafia type groups due to its location
User avatar #48 to #18 - Ruspanic (09/20/2013) [-]
We still have a higher incarceration rate than any other country in the world, possibly including North Korea (though we don't have their stats). That has nothing to do with rule of law and not being barbarians. That's largely because of our "war on drugs", which puts a ******* of people in prison for nonviolent offenses.

Granted, some countries have lower incarceration rates because they prefer to execute their criminals, but those aren't countries we'd like to be compared

And live in a land where Waron Buffet pays less taxes percentually than his maid.
#28 to #20 - ragingflamingos (09/20/2013) [-]
You know what really pisses me off about Buffet? He CONSTANTLY bitches about how the rich should pay higher taxes yet he does this sort of **** . If he thinks the government should have more of his money maybe he should just cut them a check.
#57 to #28 - worried (09/20/2013) [-]
why? so he could claim it as a tax writeoff?
#40 to #28 - ipostfunny (09/20/2013) [-]
Can't hate Warren Buffet, the guy donates so much money that all the taxes you'll pay in your lifetime won't amount to 1% of it
#58 to #40 - worried (09/20/2013) [-]
too bad he gets it back as a tax writeoff
#59 to #58 - ipostfunny (09/20/2013) [-]
Do you know how tax writeoffs work?
#60 to #59 - worried (09/20/2013) [-]
not really, i just wanted in on the conversation... using warren buffet and tax writeoffs in the same thread makes me sound sophisticated

Lol, if you knew, you wouldn't have said that

And then what? Nothing.

He wants the system to change not just for him alone to have less money
User avatar #37 to #32 - ragingflamingos (09/20/2013) [-]
My point is he isn't practicing what he preaches. If you want the rich to pay higher taxes you shouldn't be hiding your money in low tax/tax free assets and then bitching about how little you pay.

well, freedom is better here than in some countries... like in japan, a cop can just walk into your house and start looking for **** ... if he finds something, you get arrested... here at least the cop needs a warrant, and if he finds something without one, its inadmissible in court... the only reason there are less people in jail in japan is because japanese people usually dont get involved in criminal activities

tl;dr: dont wanna be arrested? dont do illegal ****

Almost every time you actually see something that takes the freedom thing too far, it is a joke. Furthermore, you haven't been on the internet long enough if you are dumb enough to ask the question that you just asked.
