Take A Second To Pay Your Respects

Take A Second To Pay Your Respects. True Pioneer. Led Nintendo through the transition from Trading Card Company to Video Game Goliath right up to the Gamecube.

True Pioneer. Led Nintendo through the transition from Trading Card Company to Video Game Goliath right up to the Gamecube. Big Respect to the guy as many of the video game revolutions we now take for granted may never have happened without this guy. Take a second to show your appreciation. Regardless of what you think of Nintendo now.

All that we are, is owed to the fallen. May they rest forever knowing how they truly mattered.

I know how you feel man. My mom got me just about every console and handheld I ever owned for my birthday or Christmas, and no matter how messy I got, I always made sure to take care of them and make them last, so all of them still work to this day, even the N64 she got me in 2000. Never had any problem with me playing any games because she knew that I could differentiate reality from games, and sometimes we even played some together.

She died of a heart attack about a week ago. I still miss her so much. After a couple days I pretty much told all my friends whose parents were with them and had a good relationship with them to go and give their mom and dad a big hug and tell them that they love their mom and dad very much. It's a bond that hurts so much to lose, so make it count as much as you can.

Guys... seriously... Instead of posting a sad gif and moving on, Lets take a moment of silence for this one.

This man, this genius man, Is responsible for every single video game you see today. He formed Nintendo into greatness, Nintendo brought Sony to create the {laystation, and both brought Microsoft to create the Xbox. The games we know and love today, may not have ever existed if it weren't for him. Chunks of our childhood stem from Nintendo, or if you were a PS or Xbox guy, that's okay too. Our childhood, the fun we had, ultimately had an impact on who we are today. If we didn't have video games whose industry Yamauchi helped revitalize, Where would we be today? I know this sounds ridiculous and unrelated, But I ended up saving 2 lives last year, both people which are now very important to me. If I had not discovered video games, I would have never been put in the circumstances a year ago that caused me to save their life, I wouldn't have even met those two wonderful people.
As I was saying before, Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, Starfox, whatever your favorite game is, whatever video game you have/had emotional attachment to, thank Yamauchi for it. Thank him for the joy and fun we had. thank him for giving all of us something we may have never had without him.
God bless you, Hiroshi. Rest well, and find an extra comfy cloud for yourself in Heaven.

I don't even like Nintendo. But yeah if he didn't exist, video games be where they were today. Yeah, Miyamoto still exists but this guy made those become a reality.

RIP

how can you not like Nintendo
User avatar #16 to #13 - riddlerenigma (09/19/2013) [-]

User avatar #34 to #18 - riddlerenigma (09/19/2013) [-]
... oh boy. I wasn't expecting it to get this far. Ok.

I'm okay with most Mario games since they have quite a nice basic formula to them.
The first Zelda game I played wasn't Ocarina of Time about less then a year ago and I didn't really enjoy it that much (yes I did just say that).
I have no experience with Star Fox or Metroid
I don't like turn based RPGs so Pokemon is something I am also not a very big fan of either.

Does are my reasons.
User avatar #36 to #34 - teoferrazzi (09/19/2013) [-]
don't worry, a lot of people say OOT hasn't aged well. maybe the 3ds version is better to play in this day and age.
what are your favorite games in general? maybe I can direct you to nintendo franchises you may enjoy
User avatar #39 to #36 - riddlerenigma (09/19/2013) [-]
Mostly Platformers, Action Combat RPGs, Action Combat game in general mostly and Puzzles I guess. I don't really know. I feel like the more I get involved in the gaming industry and knowing whats going on the business the more I feel like I'm becoming less of a gamer. I use to play the **** out of games such as Kingdom hearts 2. Yet now that the HD collection is out I can't even be bothered to get to Agrabah in the first 1.
User avatar #43 to #39 - teoferrazzi (09/19/2013) [-]
you work in the business? what do you do?
and what about the industry has made you jaded you think?
User avatar #45 to #43 - riddlerenigma (09/19/2013) [-]
No. I don't work in the industry. what I'm saying is basically Growing up sucks. I use to play games for hours on end and now I feel like I'm addicted to sticking my head in front a computer screen doing research on games and WTF is happening in the industry rather then just playing the game and enjoying it.

It's depressing stuff.

i feel you brudda. before i almost didnt do anything exept playing and nowadays i hardly play a couple of hours a week, or even that. i just dont have any intrest in gaming anymore wich is kinda sad... and even sadder is sometimes when i WANT to play i just dont have any motivation or i have better things to do.

you're right about that.

I recommend The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword.
