I used to be afraid of the dark because of the monsters I couldn't see. Now that I'm older, I know why they hide.

Isn't this some fan-art for the movie How to Train your Dragon?

All men are afraid of the dark. Save those who embrace it.

would it not be more fun to embrace it, rather than to fight it? or do you disagree with me?

one should not be afraid of the monsters that hide in the night, one should be afraid of the monsters that blend in during the day

One should never be afraid of monsters, we should only be afraid of ourselves.

The best way I've found to get over a fear is to turn it into a fetish...

And damn are monsters sexy to me now! No, I'm not joking: I literally turned all my fears into fetishes...

When I was little I was scared of the dark because I thought monsters lived in my room and would feed on me if they could and kill me. I thought they couldn't get me if there was light, if I could see light, or if I imagined light, so if I closed my eyes they couldn't get me because they didn't know what I was imagining. Some times I thought that there were good monsters in my room, so I'd stare into the darkness so they could feed on me so they wouldn't starve because I thought that they'd know when to stop so I wouldn't die.

Reminds me of Monsters Inc.
My means of protection was to imagine my blanket was 'magical' so while I was under it now one was able to hurt me.
