Yes, I know Umbreon should be a painted fox not cat, but this is the closest I have.

how long do you think it would take to be available to the average person?
I mean it will obviously come in stages, much like a computer. The graphics will keep getting better, but will we ever be able to break out of the 'pixel boundary'?

For virtual dive then yea, 2070 would be earliest I'd think. Then it would only be a matter of time until virtual dive until it's released to the masses, like, 5+ years after the initial prototype.

Full-on virtual reality where it puts the data directly into your brain and make the sensations feel real (think .hack or Sword Art Online if you've heard about it)

It's a non friction surface/treadmill sort of thing that tracts your walking movements and emulates them in game, since it's non friction you can walk/run normally and be kept in place.

still, you have to think about how hard it would be programming a virtual reality, especially one where you can walk around freely. just imagine creating skyrim, even without all the fighting and people and ****, just the landscape. You would have to create the smells, the textures, the subtle things like wind and ambiance. The cold of being in places like Windhelm and the challenges of walking up a mountain. The cool feeling of standing in a river that goes up to your ankles and all of the angles of every plant there is

Well yeah we're a long way away from a full fledged perfect virtual reality but we're quickly coming to a point where we can nearly perfectly emulate movement sight and sound and we've taken some of the first steps to being able to emulate finer motor controls via computer/neurological interfaces like the neurosky mindwave. We're making some pretty big steps towards true virtual reality over the next 1-5 years and I wouldn't be surprised if we had what could be considered perfect VR within 20-30 years.

Funny, while the bug pokemon became more terrifying when I realized how big they were, the others became less. Case in point: Volcarona is moth that's 5'3" (or 1.6m if you prefer). Charizard is 5'7" (or 1.7m). A moth that comes up to my shoulder is far more terrifying than a dragon that comes up to my jaw.

Though Gengar's tendency to disguise itself as its victim's shadow would make me paranoid as ****.

If you have Black 2 or White 2, you can catch a lvl 35 Volcarona in the cave near the PWT. It's moves are crap but you should have enough red shards to teach it Signal Beam at the Driftveil move tutor. Or you can trade it to another game to teach it flamethrower.
