in storage it is very common to put stuf on top of other stuf like that, it's not like you are suposed to drive around with it like that tho
User avatar #25 to #15 - localbees (09/13/2013) [-]
In the grocery store I work at, there isn't really enough space for the amount of product we usually have in stock, so it's not uncommon to see pallets 5 high. But yeah, if you try to move that much **** , you're an idiot.

It's for storage. You're supposed to take the top pallet off before moving the bottom.
User avatar #171 to #2 - klaos (09/14/2013) [-]
What if it was the new guy who said that?
User avatar #179 to #2 - pooflinger (09/14/2013) [-]
Only 8 feet?

**** , if I kept my stacks all below 8 feet I would need a backroom twice as large as what I have.

Our entire dock is stacked to about 20 feet I would say. Its less about how tall its stacked (20 feet is definitely doable and even moveable), its more about whats stacked, how its stacked, and which ******** decides to move it.

I worked in inventory management this summer, and this just angers me.

1.) USE THE WALKIE STACKER TO TAKE OFF THE TOP PALLET
2.) WHY IS IT NOT SARAN WRAPPED??
3.) WHY ARE YOU MOVING A DOUBLE STACKED PALLET WITH THE ELECTRIC PALLET JACK.
4.) I ****************** you that the people at the distribution center put it on the truck that way, and were like "yep. that's fine. nothing bad could possibly happen."

I can't tell you how many goddamn mirrors we got that SPECIFICALLY said not to lay flat that were on the bottom of the truck (laid flat) with a **** ton of freight on top of them. for two weeks straight, we didn't get a SINGLE mirror that wasn't broken.

my jimmies are rustled

Why the **** doesn't double wrap that? Seriously, if it was the supervisor, or Bud Light, I would blame it on them instead of the new employee. And how does a new employee already have a PLE license?
#28 to #27 - bollenn ONLINE (09/13/2013) [-]
In Sweden we only need the license for insurance, if you get hurt driving them without license you won't get any moneyz.

I remember my first job in a storehouse and it was pretty much just like this. I was 16 at the time and god was I terrified. Cut the new guy some slack, he'd probably bash his head for something that's not his fault. I mean, who gives a stack this high to a newbie to handle? This **** is begging gravity to do its work.
User avatar #167 to #157 - sparkyoneonetwo (09/14/2013) [-]
who the **** makes a stack that high anyway. not only is that extremely unsafe it's braking two osha laws. anyone who let that happen should be fired.
