It's still shameful.

I think my country should stop meddling in foreign affairs until we can settle domestic affairs.

I mean, honestly. Who are we to tell the rest of the world how to live if we contain so much wealth but we still have so much work to do in the health and education sector?
#75 to #64 - myshipsailedwoutme (09/13/2013) [-]
There will ALWAYS be poverty, no matter how far society and technology advance.
Also, remember that you wouldn't be legally allowed to express that opinion if you lived in North Korea.
User avatar #100 to #75 - rieskimo (09/13/2013) [-]
I've never claimed we were the worst, and I understand that poverty is a human factor that will be forever present. However, I still think that we focus far too much effort on foreign affairs when we should focus on domestic first.

Especially when our presence has been unwelcome time and time again. Also our main policy is pretty much to find the most prevalent underdog that may agree with our ideals and throw a crapload of funding/training/weapons their way. That's worked out for us every time.
#104 to #100 - myshipsailedwoutme (09/13/2013) [-]
Yes, I agree that our government is flawed and I also agree that we should focus less on foreign affairs. I was just pointing out that we still have the right to criticize governments such as that of North Korea because while we are flawed, they are excessively corrupt and much more flawed than we are. While the U.S. government is corrupt, we still have a degree of freedom and privilege that nobody in North Korea (other than the politically elite) has access to, so we should be at least somewhat grateful for what we have.
User avatar #105 to #104 - rieskimo (09/13/2013) [-]
I'm not saying we can't criticize ridiculous governments like NK's but we oftentimes act like we're some sort of pillar of greatness. Though we are pretty awesome, we're not that great where we lead the way for the whole world.

"Not like first countries are a hair better."
You said it word-for-word. I don't see how you could've meant anything else.
Of course our government is flawed, but we can still claim that it's "superior" to the North Korean government because their government is clearly much, MUCH more flawed than ours is. We may have a minority of people in our country who are starving, but practically every person in North Korea besides the politically elite are starving. That's a dramatic difference. Therefore, we certainly have the right to criticize their government as it is excessively corrupt.

Yeah, the standard of living in NK is the exact same as the West. That's why people over there are forced to resort to cannibalism.
The NK government executes people for just saying things against Kim Jong Il, he had his ex girl friend executed because she did a "sexual" video that wouldn't even be softcore by our standards.
Some charities have high administration costs, some don't. You could post a link to one using 95% on admin costs, I could post links to ones using less than 10%. Nothing has been proven at all.

oh im sorry, the usa government is much nicer
please tell me about that senior citizen that american police recently executed and put on the report "they thought he was a threat"

americas so great some 10,000 of its own Marines have deserted rather than serve obama's government, while so many marines are committing war crimes against arab women and children....america doesnt execute its own people, it executes everone else
User avatar #102 to #71 - undeadwill (09/13/2013) [-]
And guess what.
You got to hear about it! Through even the worse mainstream media. In North Korea the Media is controlled and owned by the government and like I said they like to remain secretive.

Dude, everyone hates Obama.

And I like to see your evidence of war crimes.

And lets be honest we are at war. In war you kill. Now whether or not you like the war you have to realize this is the reality of war.
User avatar #107 to #102 - konradkurze (09/13/2013) [-]
guess what, the western media is controlled by the government too

and lets talk about the 1.6 million arabs dead and marked off as 'collateral damage" hence why some syrians have stood up and made speeches they dont want their people marked off as collateral damage from usa bombing indiscriminately as they do

but western media doesnt show that, they just show the american side of the war where 'usa is the good guy' then along comes youtube videos from independent sources saying no they arent
hell some of the marines are so hooked on killing theyre even shooting or blowing up random stray animals (or throwing puppies off cliffs)

war is about killing when justified, but some of the marines that came home have admitted they were ordered to shoot anyone, which is illegal,
User avatar #109 to #107 - undeadwill (09/13/2013) [-]
Heavily Influenced but controlled outright? No. In North Korea the government is heavily dedicated to propaganda (We do it every once and a while for political parties but flat for our government? No.

I'd love a look at those sources. But again we are talking about which is better North Korea or the US. The Korea's forces are just as blood thirsty as any marine. They mine villages without a care if they hit a child or a soldier.

Welcome to humanity. Where we do cruel things because we can.

"Ordered to shoot anyone, which is illegal" Might want to rephrase that. Or give sources to back that up.
User avatar #112 to #109 - konradkurze (09/14/2013) [-]
north korea uses open propaganda like rallies and military parades...usa uses subliminal messaging and flag waving
put the US flag on anything and sales will explode

and seriously, american marines when taking fire return by shooting everyone in the street to make sure they get the attack / punish bystanders for letting them come under fire is legit by you?

User avatar #114 to #112 - undeadwill (09/14/2013) [-]
Again how is that any better?

He was ordered by an officer just one. Don't act like the terrorists or rebels are any better.

And the soldier who committed animal abuse is nothing new nor US based. Every country on earth has done something similar in war.

hmmmmm what was that recently from america
a marine murdered a dozen arabs and was laughing over the phone to his gf about it....he should have been put to death but because he admitte doing it they just gave him life imprisonment

North Korea kills families, mines villages, executes those who even look at the picture of glorious leader funny.

User avatar #125 to #122 - konradkurze (09/14/2013) [-]
im sorry how much has usa done under 'eminent domain' that if they see a need to seize land they can and will
and how many arabs were shot by usa for looking at them funny while they occupy the middle east

if history went different and north korea was the self-appointed global police, yeah then they would be the centre of the worlds hate,
User avatar #140 to #125 - jewishcommunazi (09/16/2013) [-]
Still, the USA/west beats North Korea in many aspects. Immigration/emigration laws are much better, people are able to choose their president (even if all their choices are ****** , that's way better than having a ****** leader nobody wanted in the first place) and the western economic model might be stupid, but it's not as disastrous as the North Korean (have they even started developing industry?).
User avatar #141 to #140 - konradkurze (09/16/2013) [-]
western nations have as much choice of their leaders as NK does, they just put on a show of 'voting' as an illusion of choice

NK isnt developing industry but it is slowly improving domestic life for the people, just too slow as compared to the rapid change western nations live by

plus NK's disasters come from them wanting to keep their culture as pure as possible, free from the decadence of the west and embargoing alot of stuff from the west

Jewishcommunazi is the hippie of the group.
I sell capitalism and capitalism accessories to the masses with side markets of freedom.

If you can convince these people that your issues deserve attention you can win the political board and if so are able to spread the word of your ideas.

The stupid and ignorant won't understand your view points and will be offended by them. We won't. We listen and then pass judgement. Convince us and you can convince anyone.

Those numbers include those who were the actual terrorists we were trying to kill and "Directly or indirectly" is a very broad definition.

I agree with 9/11 has some issues I never denied r confirmed whether our government had a hand in it. I will only comment that we don't know the full story.

Don't forget that the terrorist prefer to use explosive weapons, mines, and use brutal attacks on the civilian population to keep them in line so the US isn't the only one to blame in this.

You really should join the the political board.

Again source info for us killing quote hundreds of Arabs. And yes we kill in war and sometimes we kill needlessly but war is war.

Again we are bad but not that bad compared to North Korea.

And no we aren't self appointed. The EU and UN put us there and we were more than happy to fill the part since everyone else was too weak at the time.

Again North Korea is more evil you can't deny this.
User avatar #101 to #63 - undeadwill (09/13/2013) [-]
"Stupid ***** committing crime" You know this because you live there? Because North Korea is very secretive and prone to lying.
No they just spy on them in their own homes, crush any and all protests that are not pro government enough for their liking, raid churches that don't agree with them, flat out assassinate those that disagree with them, prison camps, threaten death if you don't cry enough for glorious leaders death and brainwashing the masses in schools with laughable information (North Korea coffee lol).

I'd love to see the sauce on that. Because I am 100% sure that not EVERY charity (as you claimed) does that.

Faggot do you even political board?
User avatar #108 to #101 - konradkurze (09/13/2013) [-]
right and america is sooooo honest and doesnt lie at all............
guess what, usa spies on its people....it plants people in peaceful protests to spark up hostilities and justify police action which nearly always ends up in police 'requiring' harsh measures to contain things
usa wont touch churches becuase theyre tools of the state to control people, usa doesnt kill political dissidents they simply lock them away for decades or ones like snowden, end up with them fleeing usa...
theyve programmed people to love and adore the office of president no matter what hitler sits in the oval office, the scools are also brainwashing facilities, and ill guess korean schools still have PE classes unlike alot of usa ones....

and meh on the political board, why should politics have to be hidden away where only intelligent people go there to see them, voices of reason need to be put in the publics face so they actually notice
User avatar #110 to #108 - undeadwill (09/13/2013) [-]
Oh no we lie but we don't lie so outlandishly. Like to say that Americans all live in Tents and that it snows all the time. That we eat wild birds because we are hungry. Or that Americans buy North Korean Coffee (A country we have sanctions against and lacks the climate to grow coffee) I mean if we are going to talk who is the bigger liar look no further than your buddy North Korea.

We have at least have trials and again you know about the trials. In North Korea you get a black sack place over your head and your very name disappears from the earth.

Sauce on that info.

They won't torch churches because a large percentage of the population is Christian and or believes in the first amendment.

How is that different from North Korea?

Sauce on that info. And again. Different from NK how?

Because you need to refine your arguments and be able to learn the counter arguments that will be thrown at you and how to find solutions to the issues.

Because teaching the unintelligent is like giving them a fish. Teaching the intelligent is like teaching someone to fish. They are the ones who spread the word. The stupid and ignorant won't do **** because they are easily frightened and controlled.
User avatar #111 to #110 - konradkurze (09/14/2013) [-]

yep, black sack over the face compared to the victim in court getting punished because the defendant had more money / better lawyer
hmmm lets see, lincoln, kennedy, monroe and many more important figures have been executed for trying to use their power to fight the corruption in usa

usa has tons of people who claim to support religion then go out and do very unreligious things....please tell me where the bible says hate gays but be okay with their religion supporting incest and justifiable muder

talking about the stupid being controlled, thats EXACTLY what usa is doing, keeping people in eternal fear of terrorism that wont actually come till another false flag bombing done not by arabs on their own but sponsored by the CIA

Strong work ethic. Top lel. Americans are considered too hard working by European standards. Many of us have strong family ties but we aren't forced to have them. We have more freedom in our relationships.

either a leader executing those who complain, or a leader who sits back and giggles while his people live on starvation life or get desperate enough to steal and end up in americas huge prison system

plus take heart, after usa invades syria, that'll leave just iran cuba and north korea on the hit list for world domination
soon enough usa will be taking a steaming **** on kim jong uns grave and shoveling mcdonalds down the peoples throats till they get nice and fat

You would be hauled away in North Korea's "huge prison system" right now if you lived there, and you wouldn't even have the chance to defend yourself in court.

theres plenty of cases where americas 'justice' system has punished the victim

Those cases exist everywhere, and they have since the beginning of time. Injustice has is everywhere; like poverty, it's unavoidable. However, it is at a much higher extreme in North Korea than it is in the US.

its only 'unavoidable' because the ****** up system made it that way
there are better ways to live but people havent been taught how to live them

So what are these "better ways"? Because I cannot think of a single society that was entirely free of injustice.

well yes there have been no societies COMPLETELY free of injustice, just the further the world move forwards and ever expanding the powers of lawyers and judges who dont care about law, just money, the more injustices occur
