Where the hell do you live? Mr. Rodger's neighborhood? That's ********* . In my town I've been robbed at gunpoint, had my bike stolen in the night by ethnic children, watched multiple homes burn to the ground, and just a couple weeks ago, some mexican shot a lady at starbucks for no reason.

And this whole time, I thought that's just how the world works.

Here in the faroes nothing happens, you can walk alone in the city at night whilst holding a 100 kr bill ( 20 dollars ) and nothing happens, the only thing wrong with this country is that there are apporximately a pedo per 25 person or more

hah, i've never seen anyone be robbed, nor heard of anyone being robbed in my town
the biggest criminal thing that has happened here the last few years (as long as i can remember) is when three guys got hospitalized after a drunken brawl with some polish construction workers.

My car is a smashed piece of **** because the previous owner was a careless bitch who crashed against anything (can't afford repair it), more than 20 years old (even when it came out it wasn't that good of a car) wich can't go any faster than 70 kmph (~43mph) when there are more than 3 persons in it and still, someone tried to steal it.

You should have let them steal it, just to see them trying to get away.

I was coming out of class in my college last year and it was at like 10PM because I take night classes. It was raining hard that day so I parked in the first floor garage. Well, when I went in, it was pretty ******* empty except for this one black dude in a car across the lot from mine. I notice he had his key in his door and the strap thing was just dangling there. He didn't even know. So I started walking up to his car. I'm a short white kid, so I don't think much of it. But when this guy saw me, the loom on his face came to sheer horror. I slowly walked up to his car as he frantically searched for his key's desperate to get away. When I got within five feet of the car, he knew it was too late, and just stared at me through the window, scares ******** . I walked right up to his door, bent down, grabbed the keys in his door..... and took them out. In my most polite voice, I said "Excuse me sir, you left your keys in your door." And handed them to him through the crack in the window. I smiled and said "Have a nice day" and walked back to my car. When I drove past him to leave, he was still holding the keys, not having moved an inch.

Thats quite strange.

The other day I awoke to my mothers car being covered in grass, wet newspaper, and an approx. 10" pine branch.

It had stormed the night before, so we shrugged it off. Until we noticed that the only place the debris was located was on the car.

The first time my key hole froze, I thought the lock was broken. I wasn't even aware of the existence of defrost. It was horrible; but not nearly as bad as when I couldn't get my key out of my ignition, and for about two hours (time I needed for studying) me and a college security guard tried wiggling it free, but low and behold, the problem was that I was still in drive.

I know, right, same where I live (in Germany).
It must be strange to have to be afraid that somebody is goung to rob you or your house, or that you could get shot by the police (they only shoot about 6people/year at 81,8 million citizens) or by criminals, or that you have to e afraid to go outside at night in certain areas.

I live in Mt. Pleasant, SC. I regularly leave my car unlocked or sometimes have left the keys in the center console. I rarely lock my house doors, usually leaving the back door open for my dogs and let fresh air filter through. I've never had a problem here ever with crime. I grew up on Isle of Palms and the cops there would call for back up on a speeding ticket.
User avatar #71 - Lambda (09/11/2013) [-]
Where I live, I hardly ever take the keys out of the ignition when my car is parked at my home or my place of work.
It never got stolen except one time when my co-workers pranked me by moving it and then telling me it was towed.

A neighbour from my floor walked in, poked me while I was sleeping, gave me my keys and left
