half the things on this list you could make yourself.
User avatar #6 to #5 - brobathehutt ONLINE (09/09/2013) [-]
Yeah, the worthless crap I didn't want in the first place. For instance the bookshelf stairs, like really why the hell would anyone want? All I see coming out of that is someone accidentally falling on my books. I mean the built in dry racks all right, but realistically there are only six things here I can make myself.
User avatar #7 to #6 - sparkyoneonetwo (09/09/2013) [-]
the last two and first one and the glass fire place one are the only ones I dont' think i could make on my own. If I owned my own home all the others would just be simple renovations.

Building a house over a creek is expensive as hell, especially because of the fact that buying part of a creak is pretty goddamn expensive. A loft hammock is hard as **** to make, a sleepover room takes a spare room on the initial construction of the house, and wine cellars are already expensive, making a special wine cellar that winds down is ******* expensive.
User avatar #9 to #8 - sparkyoneonetwo (09/09/2013) [-]
A loft hammock wouldn't be hard to make. A sleepover room would need a spare room but not hard to make, a wine cellar would be that hard or expensive if your home already has a basement, that doesn't say anything about the house being made over a creek it say a creek that runs though you hallway get some rock a ****** little pound pump and the right glass and you can make and room in your home have a creek in it.
User avatar #10 to #9 - brobathehutt ONLINE (09/09/2013) [-]
A loft hammock would be a pain in the ass to make. A spare room is already costly, and the point of the creak is that it's an actual creak, if it's man made than it's not a creak. Even if you had a basement, you would still have to make a separate room for a wine cellar, seeing as you don't want your wine next to all the crap you keep in your basement, not to mention the pipes. Also that wine cellar the post talks about isn't part of a basement, and it's got a pretty elaborate design. At the very least you would have to completely wall off part of your basement and make a new entrance.
User avatar #11 to #10 - sparkyoneonetwo (09/09/2013) [-]
a man made creak is still called a creak, there ea plenty of homes with them and none that I've ever seen where real creaks. This kinda stuff posted here is the sorta stuff I do with my life. Done all kinds of contract work helping build things similar to this(nothing 100% exact ) but nothing here is that hard. it's all gonna be kinda costly but it's nothing you can't do your self. (except maybe that door knob thing that sound a bit more complex)
User avatar #12 to #11 - brobathehutt ONLINE (09/09/2013) [-]
Allow me to assure you that the door knob is not complex, it's far easier than the "homemade creak" thing you were talking about. By the way, there was a house built over a river / creak by a very famous architect, so it has been done before.
User avatar #13 to #12 - sparkyoneonetwo (09/09/2013) [-]
I"m not saying it hasn't been done. I"m saying the creak thing gets done a lot by people. I've seen then in bed rooms that light up, I"ve seen them in bathroom, I've seen them in hall ways, if I had my own home I'd make some of my own cuz I think there pretty cool.

That door knob seems much more complex than anything else up there but, that my just be fore the fact that it deals with the gas pies and stuff and I don't really know much about that (reasons I didn't say anything about he fire stuff) but just about anything else up there any one with some simple carpentry knowledge could do that the most complex thing is the stair case for that wine-cellar but there really not that difficult to make.
User avatar #14 to #13 - brobathehutt ONLINE (09/09/2013) [-]
No, it's simple for you. It's not simple for the average man. If I was a doctor and told people surgery was simple I would receive so many incredulous looks. Now it may be basic stuff, and maybe you could learn to do all of this in a years work with an artisan, but most people aren't carpenters.
User avatar #15 to #14 - sparkyoneonetwo (09/09/2013) [-]
No this is all simple but that stair case. If you can use a measuring tape and fall simple directions anyone could this stuff.

I feel like the ping pong table would suck, since its no the right size and the doorway would block some shots

I cant be the only one who sees an issue with that ping pong door. The walls would get in the way of returns on angled shots.

A glass encased fireplace. For those who enjoy seeing a floating column of soot in the middle of their living room.
