I enjoyed the first season, but the second just kept getting worse and worse until it ended in a trainwreck that set in a twenty mile radius on fire and happened to occur in the "orphanage and puppy shelter" district.

I like and respect Ruri, because she is a very strong character, but for some reason, I can't help but be partial to Ayase. For some strange reason.

Well, at least it brought a bit more levity into the series, albeit in a very roundabout way.

Like, really really roundabout.

Honestly, the show had enough levity to begin with in my opinion. I was just dreading that day when it was going to become a harem rather than Kyou patching things up with his sister, her sister coming to terms with her guilty pleasures and accepting who she is totally. Now, we just watch as each girl falls for Kyou and gets shot down one-by-one until he makes his decision on the girl he likes. I just hope now they do it in a nice and believable fashion.

Unfortunately, that doesn't really seem to happen in S2. It just kind of... stops. After not really going that far. I also feel like them reintroducing Kirino's roommate from america was a little unnecessary.

Gotta love filler... = w =;

I believe 3 OVAs came out and I have yet to watch them. IDK, I just love this anime and I have no idea why...

Maybe it's relatable? I found her situation very similar to mine when I was first introduced to anime. I didn't really grow up with it (other than pokemon and Yugioh) and actually DISPISED it and thought it was weird. I only got started when I was 11 when I first watched "Spirited Away". I was sick and thought "This is gonna be so dumb". I didn't change the channel and I was hooked and to this day it is probably my favorite movie of all time...so far. Then I started watching Naruto and Bleach but whenever a family member would walk in, I quickly change the channel because I thought they think it was weird as well. So I would kinda watch anime in secret until I entered Highschool. There, I joined a anime club and was...disappointed to say the least. The people who made up the club were nothing but weeabos saying "kawaii" and "baka" and who collected pocky and hablauh habluh habluh bluh. I just didn't wanted to grouped with people who admired anime in that fashion. What made it worse was that ignorant ***** would automatically affiliate anime with hentai/ecchi. So I would just watch anime via online or on demand and kept the hobby to myself since I had no one to relate my hobbies I made some friends, but no one who I could personally get in a conversation revolving my interests. Eventually I got a job and started racking in some dough and was really tempted in investing it in merchandise so...I did. I stopped caring and bought figurines, plushies, manga, etc. My parents gave this "You're into this stuff?" look and I'm proud of it.

Or it could be the design, very simple and nice to me. Makes me want to buy a VAIO.

Filler is only good as long as it's still interesting, but I'll have to look into the OVAs.

Sometimes I wish that I could elocute my thoughts as clearly as you, and others, can. But then I realize that I could easily make an ass of myself because I don't know when to stop talking.

I liked it too for the most part. However, I found an anime with a similar premise except better in almost every way: Nogizaki Haruka no Himitsu. The titular character, Haruka Nogizaki (pictured on the left), is very likable and not the spoiled little princess you would assume her to be; and the male lead, Yuuto Ayase, is actually worthy of having his balls! When it comes down to the crucial moments, he won't take any crap from anyone.

Agreed, the moment Kirino said yes to Kyousuke **** hit the fan so hard, if I were any closer to the screen I would be blasted with **** so hard I'd have stains on the back of my retina for weeks. All my anger for the ending to this show can be summed, not entirely, but still satisfactorily in this quote from Fakku

"Anything would have been better than the real ending.

Anything.

Remember that one doujin where Kyosuke sucked a fart outta Kuroneko's asshole, and then she shat a whole ******* chain of sausage links all over the floor?

Still a better ending than Oreimo."

The better question is; why not? If the idea of animation is either childish or abhorrent to you, then anime isn't for you, but if you're open minded, maybe you'd even enjoy something in that vein. Theirs every kind of anime you can imagine, from childish robots punching each-other to heavy-handed dramas to coming-of-age tales and everything in between. Anime is definitely not for everyone, and even though I enjoy a lot of it, some of it is almost embarrassing because people see some of the more niche animes with gratuitious fan-service, and assume all anime is something stranger and more inaccessible than it really is.

Long answer short - Don't ask why, because you don't need a reason to enjoy something, some people are sexually attracted to automobiles, weird, yes, but as long as it's not hurting anyone, who cares. If you have a reason why not, then i'm all ears. A guy I went to college with told me that all anime is made by the japanese to turn the american people into pedophiles, so we can't mate and they can best us in open combat, so I've heard pretty much all the reasons people don't like it, logical and otherwise.

It's another form of entertainment, there's so many different concepts/scenarios in anime that pretty much anyone could find something they'd enjoy. From lighthearted comedy, to brutal gory action, to psychological ***********, and pretty much everything in between.

It's just that the anime that almost always tends to get the most attention is stuff with Lolis, tits, and fanservice, so a lot of people judge anime as a whole based on what they see, which leads to people thinking anime as a whole is weird as **** (there's a lot of weird stuff, true, but it really isn't that bad) . Anime directed towards an older audience tends to be more serious, so in the end watching anime is no different than watching television like The Walking Dead or Breaking Bad. The main difference is the fact that anime is animated, and the other stuff isn't.
