Weathermen are asked to predict the future and when they're wrong everyone gets pissed.

see i get pissed when they are wrong 98% of the time like in my area and still have a job, or even worse those weather men that never actually go out side and say "a 20% chance of rain" and it's a hurricane outside.... i'm only angry at the lazy weather people (lol pc terms). also i agree with you mother nature is pretty tricky but a 98% failure to do your job does kind of demand das boot

That's just it though, weathermen are almost never "wrong".

The predictions are never "it WILL rain at this time", or, "we WILL have EXACTLY 2cm of downfall." They are always approximations and probabilities based on conditions that have previously existed, and what happened as a result of those conditions. They are also time based, like the temperature changes across a couple of days when graphed closely resemble a sinusoidal function.

they dont even predict stuff, they just communicate the predictions; I dont believe that every weather man has a PhD in meteorology and chaos theory

I thought your picture was really fitting because Nicolas Cage was the main character in Weatherman, and everyone called him a liar, and threw junk food at him.

Weathermen don't lie, they state probabilities based on statistical data recorded over years. As in "when conditions were like this in the past, they were followed by conditions like that x percent of the time"

Weathermen just tell us the chances of things happening based off of radars and **** .
They give ranges and chances. Not lying.

Weather predictions aren't really predictions as much as they are Assumptions.
User avatar #28 to #17 - iridium (09/07/2013) [-]
A prediction is essentially an assumption about what will happen in the future.

And it's not like they make blind forecasts. Yes, they will be wrong a fair amount of time because weather can change, but they do follow a lot of data in order to make such forecasts, so they stand a good chance of coming true.

It seems like a small chance of justice for Mr. Green
