Yes. He is to bring a friend, as is the custom of dueling, as to witness the event on his friends behalf so should he die ( chances are 50/50) someone can tell testify that he entered the duel willingly, and was not murdered.

Actually chances are about 25% either of them actually gets hit. 50% one of them shoots another. 50% the bullet simply misses. the chances are even lower that they are mortally wounded right then and there, but there was always a chance for infection.

Duels weren't so much to kill the opponent as to gain "satisfaction", and to restore one's honor by risking their life for it.

I dunno, his hand writing in itself is poetry, and then the wording is a piece of art,
and the letter is challenge in which one may die,
I wouldn't mess with someone who can perfectly juxtapose like that.

I don't think you're an idiot.

Everyone is an idiot in their own regard, but you have one thing a lot of people don't.
A great sense of humor and a distinct understanding of right vs. wrong.

How will you get a job if your employer thinks you're too weird?

Whether you think so or care, appearance is important.

I am actually already in a co-op position with an employer.

The university I am attending has a phenomenal program, businesses literally can't get enough students employed. GM, Chrysler, Ford, just to name a few that come to the school every year in search of fresh students. There are so many employers, in fact, that we actually have to be careful which position we accept, in case we get into one we would dislike.

And you seriously have so many dickwads running around calling people autistic that it's hard to get any form of serious recognition from.. well.. anyone.

We all know it's just jokes man.
But you have to admit there's a correlation, and that's ok.
I'm white and I can't dance or play sports.
Black people love chicken and waffles and basketball.
and Autists just love them some fedoras.

Maybe here, perhaps. But when I can't do something because of my autism and try to explain that to the people around me I am immediately discounted because autism has become synonymous with idiot or douchebag. Instead of someone who has real mental blocks that prevents me from doing things I'm viewed as lazy, stupid, or making up excuses to get out of work.

I know it probably won't change your mind at all, but what you say does have an impact. Up until 'Autistic' became an insult people were pretty willing to work with me and my disability. Since it's became a major thing life in general is much harder. Being Autistic doesn't equate being shy/socially awkward/weird like people think it does.

I won't say that I don't love Fedoras though, but I don't wear them.

Fair enough. I can see how that'd be detrimental.
I bet you had it real easy a couple years back when all the celebrities and tv shows were throwing autism a grand old pity party.

Not 'easy' per say, but yeah somewhat. People were a LOT more willing to work with me and accept that there are some things I just can't do. They'd still judge me for it, but I'd still benefit. Now I'm about to be fired from my job for not being able to handle a certain piece of equipment.

It's like saying 'I'm sorry, I can't do this because I'm a bitch.' It's the same response.

The more I hear about these, the more I imagine them being just petty little facebook posts calling other people out.

"WHAT! DON'T WANNA FITE ME! YOU A BITCH! HEY THIS GUY'S A BITCH!"

Did they not have anything better to do than get in petty squabbles over offensive language? I mean, I'm sure there was some sort of declaration that had to be signed, or a witch to burn or SOMETHING...
