I hate this - mainly because it just sucks all kinds of sense out of a gaming world you are meant to take serious.

Here, have a list of Fictional worlds with proper clothing for all genders:

Elder Scrolls (Female Plate Armor is the **** ).
Warhammer Fantasy/40000.
Fallout.
D&D Main (To some extend).

Also applies to Eldar, Tau, Imperial Guard (If there actually were any female models) and Necron.

User avatar #265 to #264 - theshadowed (09/05/2013) [-]
Its so ******* annoying when you try to abbreviate Dragon Age: Origins.

Yeh, they said they learned their lesson. DA2 was just ridiculous at times, especially the area recycling and the combat
#266 to #265 - fdgdv (09/05/2013) [-]
Yep that was absolutly not intended

If they learned their lesson, i hope they make it better this time.
But what I missed most was, Origins was less action-oriented and more tactical.
And, of course, there was no Arcane Warrior in DA2.

User avatar #233 to #169 - hideyowives (09/04/2013) [-]
actually still no
the fact fem shep's armor is fit for her boobs would literally killer her, the idea of armoru si to deflect and stop attacks, even space Armour, so the fact you can make out her tits means one shot or stab tothe chest would likely kill her
but it almost got it right
but thats not common knowledge
User avatar #256 to #233 - thisotherdude (09/04/2013) [-]
Actually it does since in lore armor actually protects against very little, the modern day weapon system pierces through it like nothing. Almost all the protection comes from a mass effect field or biotic barriers, armor is designed to generate these, so rather than making bulky, heavy armor that doesn't do much armor is better of being light weight and form fitting.
#96 - thechosentroll (09/04/2013) [-]
Kind of makes you wish they'd make a Warhammer 40k RPG. No one ever says sisters of battle are skimpily clothed. They always have at least two layers of clothing, one layer of armor and one layer of the blood of their enemies.
User avatar #101 to #96 - grapefruity (09/04/2013) [-]
I would buy that so fast, be it a RPG or MMORPG, if you could pick chapters...

For me, Iron Hands. Or, if people can grasp some lore ******* , let guilds be chapters (inb4 angry/lazy marines become canon). But I would much prefer canon chapters...

It's a shame so many MMO's tend to give females such skimpy gear. I like playing as a female character, but more often than not I sink a couple hundred hours to get to the max level and then feel upset because the endgame armor looks like a useless armor plated swimsuit (I want to actually LIKE looking at my character, not feel dirty knowing my high-level character looks like some sort of adventurer-prostitute. Not to mention it completely kills the immersion), It's also a reason I love Monster Hunter so much. Female armor definitely has feminine qualities to it, but you look like you'd actually survive a direct hit while wearing it compared to the **** they wear in WoW or Tera.
User avatar #151 to #100 - bonlino (09/04/2013) [-]
which monster is this? if it even IS monster hunter that is
#257 to #151 - thundagawd (09/04/2013) [-]
I'm not sure what the one on the left is, but the set on the right comes from the Goa Magara (pictured), which is the Flagship Monster for Monster Hunter 4, which releases next Saturday in Japan (I REALLY hope MH4 releases worldwide, from what little info is available, it looks like it'll be even better than MH3U)

From what I've read/seen, environments are much bigger (with more emphasis on climbing and scaling walls, which works more smoothly) , hunters can attack in midair (similar to plunging attacks in Dark Souls, useful considering climbing/scaling is much more involved in combat now) , Hunters can now grapple onto certain monsters (Some monsters will climb walls and crawl along the ceiling in cave-like environments much like the Gigginox in MH3U, now you can grab onto their fur/ridges and beat on them as they try to run away) , the 3DS version will support actual online play (The biggest downside to the 3DS version of MH3U was the lack of online play) , there will be several villages (compared to just Moga and Tanzia in MH3U) , and there's 2 new weapon types: the Insect Staff (A quarterstaff that handles in a manner similar to the longsword, and that can summon insects and then spray monsters with pheromones that attract the insects which then drain energy from monsters and give it back to the hunter ("energy" being health, speed, defense, etc. depending on the phial used in the weapon)) , and the Charge Axe (Similar to the Switch axe, but rather than changing between an axe and a Greatsword, it changes between an Axe and a Sword & Shield). The only downside I can see is that there won't be underwater combat in this one, which is a shame because I really did enjoy hunting Lagiacrus and Plesioth, but considering the fact the 3DS only has 1 joystick, I guess it's for the best =/
User avatar #150 to #100 - daentraya (09/04/2013) [-]
That purple gear looks awesome. Based on those two versions, i can tell that Monster Hunter knows how to make stylish and awesome gear both looking protective and elegant. I like female characters since they have this light and more slender frame which makes it nicer to look at when they run around and such Fatrolling in Dark Souls looks silly, so lighter frames makes it look more sensible , and this type of armor would be perfect for that
#159 to #100 - John Cena (09/04/2013) [-]
Wow? Wow may have the comecially biggest and most overuse of plate.
There are like 3-6 slutty female armor sets, compared to the thousands to choose from.

well, she could at least wear pants, I was a female rogue (because I don't like staring at a dudes butts) and was fully clothed the entire time
Granted, they made up for it making her have much less health to play with than, say, The Warden
Still, it's distracting having her around
#220 to #219 - matrixone (09/04/2013) [-]
Dragon Age: Origins had the most beautiful female face generator ever. In DO2, every girl I made looked fat for some reason, and this was the final outcome.

This is the exact reason why I primarily use male avatars.
The skimpy plated bikinis bother me 'cause I feel that would never actually protect anyone in battle and it's ludicrous.
I don't mind the armor, they're just not something I'd have my character wear personally. I generally like to cover my guy up.
