I made this and it was delicious... All credit to trimageryan, as he posted this a long while ago, and I thought that those of you who didn't see this should get a chance to bask in it's glory.

A friend of mine saw a post like this, it might have even been this one. Anyway, he thought it looked "awesome" and so decided to make one himself. He did everything that the instructions said, but he didn't have anything heavy enough to press down on it to compress it so he just pushed down as hard as he could on a cutting board for about 2-3 minutes. However, when he made it it used far too much juice from the bacon, the steak and everything else and since the sandwich hadn't been compressed enough the juices just lingered, and when he went to take a bite almost immediately after making it, the juices weakened the bread and everything just spewed out over his lino, kitchen floor, and you might thing well that was lucky that it wasn't carpet, but no, it was worse, he got out a mop and was trying mop it up but instead he was just smearing various meats and their juices around his kitchen it took him almost a day to clean it.
MFW watching him smear meats.

I have made no less than three of these so far and they lasted most of the weekend between four of us. Network PC's in the front room, stock the fridge, make these the night before ultimate gaming time.

**** yeah.

(Picture is proof)

I would thing that since the thing is so ******* jam packed with the meat, that when u put weights on it, wouldn't the meat just explode out of the sides of the bread due to the pressure and no where to go, that seems like what would happen instead of it just becoming flat??
User avatar #161 to #131 - kevlar (09/01/2013) [-]
thats why you wrap int in the paper and foil
User avatar #189 to #131 - sjd (09/02/2013) [-]
Other guy has it right, you wrap it entirely in butchers paper and foil and slam the weights down onto the wooden chopping board (which is ontop of the mega-wich). It keeps it all nice and compressed, 4 hours later and viola, tasty **** .
User avatar #155 to #19 - tittentei (09/01/2013) [-]
How heavy would you say one is? And if you know, how many calories?
#185 to #155 - anon (09/01/2013) [-]
Surely you know better than to ask that question, my good man. Ribeye steaks and a **** ton of bacon and cheese.

what
#157 to #19 - Yakosaki (09/01/2013) [-]
No Gordon Ramsay **** intended but one piece of the meat looks kinda raw.
User avatar #190 to #157 - sjd (09/02/2013) [-]
I like my steaks rare, plus we had some gammon in there too.
#192 to #190 - Yakosaki (09/02/2013) [-]
Yeah most of them are rare. But theres one tiny kinda raw part. Just saying though.
User avatar #195 to #192 - sjd (09/02/2013) [-]
Well it didn't kill me! Was damn tasty regardless.

So I don't like mushrooms. Is there anything you would recommend in its place?
(I ask since you've had it before and would know how it tastes)
User avatar #187 to #104 - sjd (09/02/2013) [-]
Onions are a decent substitute to the mushrooms dude. Slap in some sweet onions and clove of garlic for even more taste-explosion.

Many thanks

If you're suggesting adding avocado to this sandwich, then I agree, it would be amazing.

I would need to find something other than mushrooms and onions... I hate that **** ...
User avatar #55 to #51 - roflnaut (09/01/2013) [-]
Maybe try some sweet bell peppers?
Grill them up and they should taste good in the sandwich.
User avatar #58 to #55 - peggscott (09/01/2013) [-]
That could work... a wee bit of jalapenos maybe?
User avatar #60 to #58 - roflnaut (09/01/2013) [-]
Jalapenos are good, but if you live in a region where Hatch peppers are sold, I would recommend those.
They have a fuller flavor, and are great when grilled. Jalapenos mix with other flavors better, though. It is all on preference.

I honestly have no reason for not liking them, I have tried plenty of times to eat them in different things but I just never enjoy them not even just the taste (its not like its that strong) but the texture as well.
User avatar #165 to #57 - darmenias (09/01/2013) [-]
I must say that I like mushrooms quite a bit, though it took me 17 years to finally be able to eat them, but onions... **** onions. Especially when people who like onions cut them into large leafy chunks so you can't ignore them for all you try.
