Girls love confidence
User avatar #42 to #5 - hawaiianhappysauce (08/31/2013) [-]
It's more than that. It requires money (6 figures), confidence, intelligence (IQ over 140), strength (bench 300 lbs), common sense (sex experience), social skills (know how to work with people), and last but not least a decent penis size.

Thumb me down idc, I'm just telling you how it is.
User avatar #62 to #42 - swimmingprodigy (09/02/2013) [-]
I said 'girls', not Victoria Secret fashion models
User avatar #63 to #62 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/02/2013) [-]
No, I don't think so. When you get older you will understand. The Victoria Secret models only look for 1 night stands, and have the same standards. But if you want a girlfriend who is willing to be with you, you pretty much need more than just confidence.
User avatar #64 to #63 - swimmingprodigy (09/02/2013) [-]
if your girlfriend needs your 6 figure salary for you to keep her happy then you're with the wrong type of person.
User avatar #65 to #64 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/02/2013) [-]
I don't have a six figure salary, hence no gf
User avatar #66 to #65 - swimmingprodigy (09/03/2013) [-]
I think your laws of logic may be a bit off.

I dont have a 6 figure salary, strength, nor social skills, yet I've had a few gfs
User avatar #68 to #66 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/04/2013) [-]
Or perhaps you have natural attractive look. Being naturally attractive eliminates the strength aspect. Also, social skills and a few gf? That seems like a contradiction, and I think you haven't seen antisocial people before. As for the 6 figure salary, that mainly applies to people after college. If you are still in HS then no **** you aren't making 6 figures, BUT it helps to have rich parents. Rich families are a good sign for rich future investments (why do you think children of poor people typically end up poor).
User avatar #69 to #68 - swimmingprodigy (09/04/2013) [-]
well when I said "social skills" It's sort of I do and dont; I have excellent public speaking skills because I'm a tour guide at my college, and when on dates with girls I have the ability to be very charming and witty. I say I have few social skills because I have few friends and I don't find parties/gatherings to my liking. I much prefer to be alone (or with just 2 of my best friends) than at a party. I guess 'no social skills' was the wrong thing to say, I should've said I'm an introvert.
As for looks, I would say that I guess I'm pretty good; I'd give myself an 8/10; 2 girls whom I've asked have also said 8, 1 girl said 8.5, 1 girl said 7.5 So I'd say I'm pretty good. However, this doesn't make girls come up and talk to me, I guess it just gives me an advantage when I start talking to them.
I don't have a 6 figure salary, but when I graduate college I'll be pretty close (civil engineering major).
But these things aren't really all that necessary; I think the most important thing girls like is confidence. As long as you don't look like a complete wreck, and if you have confidence (not to be confused with cockiness because then you'll be lumped with the douchebags) you can get a pretty good looking girl.
User avatar #70 to #69 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/04/2013) [-]
I'm guessing you are also really tall too. That helps a ton, that actually counters a higher need for strength because females naturally want to be with someone who is strong to protect them. Here is my reasons on why all these skills are important: Strength to physically protect her, intelligence to have the talent to obtain a high paying job to financially feel secure. Confidence is important because it's better to socialize with a confident person. Common sense sort of goes with socializing. The rest is pretty much good intimacy.

But even if you have all this, it doesn't guarantee that you will be together forever. You see humans still have the primitive instinct to be polygamist. The male wants as many partners as possible, and the female wants the optimal offspring. Therefore if a female sees a man who makes more than you, is stronger, is more charismatic than you, and has a bigger dick, then there is about a 30% chance that she will prefer to be with him and leave your ass. I've seen it happen to many many people.
User avatar #71 to #70 - swimmingprodigy (09/04/2013) [-]
not really that tall, im 5'10". It's tall enough, but sometimes I wish I was taller.

But ya I know what you're saying. Luckily, at my age, I have enough material possessions and skills to make it hard for a girl to leave me for someone better. In fact it's never happened before; I've broken off every relationship except for one whic was broken of mutually because she was going away for college to another state.
But for example; I go to college full time, work 2 days a week as a lifeguard, have a car, have a motorcycle, have been playing piano for 13 years, guitar for 5 years, been swimming since I was 5 and have gotten good enough to the point that I was captain of my high school swim team, am pretty intelligent (I have boatloads of common sense), decently funny, very witty, very knowledgeable and that makes me pretty interesting to talk to because of the multitude of information I know (my friends say that I'm like a walking encyclopedia).
Not trying to brag, just giving examples as to why girls tend to want to be with me once they discover these things about me.
User avatar #72 to #71 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/04/2013) [-]
So you basically proved my point. Why argue with me? So you can lose?
User avatar #73 to #72 - swimmingprodigy (09/04/2013) [-]
I didn't think you were arguing.

Also Im not proving your point because I don't have the things that YOU listed, yet the things I listed still prevent a girl from leaving me, and since those aren't the same things, I would say that YOU, sir, lose
User avatar #74 to #73 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/04/2013) [-]
"I dont have a 6 figure salary, strength, nor social skills, yet I've had a few gfs"

I can explain how this works out for you (even though I already explained it, I'll try again):

Civil engineering is a promising career path, therefore a woman may consider the idea you make 6 figures (this is including benefits like health and life insurance, the rest of the benefits are basically mandatory. Since most civil engineering jobs include that, you are in the money.

You don't have a lot of weight lifting strength, but you do have athleticism, a different kind of strength, same thing.

You have social skills, you just wont admit it. You have plenty of life experiences to use enthrall a woman's attention, since it's interesting things like guitar, piano, swimming, etc.

You are a "walking encyclopedia" according to your friends. So you are one of the more intelligent people in a crowd, engineering gives this away too.

Having all these positive attributes probably give good self esteem, so I'm willing to gamble you have enough confidence in yourself, I mean, you said it yourself how important confidence is in comment #5. So I have my doubts that you don't have confidence.

You told me you have common sense so I will end that one there.

Your dick size I don't want to know about, but considering how you keep your relationships I highly doubt you are having trouble down there.

So, going through the checklist of things you need:
Smarts: Check Common sense: Check Strength: Check social skills: check
Confidence: check

The last two are up in the air. But who in college has 6 figure salary? You have money potential and I guarantee you, if you don't cash in on your degree you are going to lose the women. So you do have the qualities and you are wrong.

have you considered a career in litigation?
User avatar #76 to #75 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/04/2013) [-]
No, too many lawyers, not enough open positions, not a growing field. Also my ideal job would have to involve using very advanced mathematics.
User avatar #77 to #76 - swimmingprodigy (09/04/2013) [-]
what do you think of engineering then?
User avatar #78 to #77 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/05/2013) [-]
Great major for getting a job after college. Though... the Mathematicians and Physicists despise engineers and this will require a rant. I want you this may insult you so you might be better off not reading it.

/* Rant:
Engineers think they are the smartest people alive when the reality is that they are far from it. I can't count how many times I had to tutor engineers in linear algebra and differential equations and explain to them simple **** like linear combinations or vector spaces. I was learning Stochastic Differential equations, Partial differential equations, and Fourier analysis during Jr. and senior year of HS. If they are so smart, how the hell are they struggling with **** that I would consider child's play. The physicists hate how engineers boast about being "useful physicists." Even though I bet 95% the Engineers don't even know Quantum mechanics. Chemists despise Chem Engineering majors for the same reason. It's not like Chem Engineers need to take organic chemistry. As for civil engineering, I had an internship in civil engineering (connections is why), and I was not challenged at all, though the pay was really good so w/e, oh you should take this advice and get as many internships as possible, 1 summer basically pays for a huge chunk of expenses. And what annoys me more than anything is having the word engineer on a resume means so much. Despite the fact that my engineering internships were not relevant to my jobs, it gets their attention. So basically employers get a huge hard on when they know someone did some **** in engineering, whereas I have friends who are physicists and significantly smarter than any engineer I know, yet struggle more with finding work. I think the only respectable engineering major is Software, those people may not know math too well, but they can at least program.
end rant */

No offense thaken; you didn't offend me personally, just what my profession is going to be. Which doesn't offend me at all because that's comparable to the stereotype that all BMW drivers are douchebags, and if I had a BMW I wouldn't be offended because I know I'm not a douchebag.

Similarly here; I know that I am fairly intelligent yet I also have the "self discipline" to understand that I'm not hot **** and that there are plenty of people smarter than me which keeps me humble. I am confident where I can be but try to never be cocky.

That being said; the main 2 reasons I chose my major (which I feel are pretty good reasons) is because the pay is good (so I can support a family and my hobbies)and because I am and have always been interested in the field (particularly buildings, which is why I think I'll go for structural once I have to choose a specialization). Though it may not challenge me, I think I'll like the satisfaction in knowing that I did some pretty important planning/analytical work to make sure that a building will stay up and I think that'll give me enough satisfaction to appreciate my job and be fairly proud of my occupation.

That's not irony. Irony is for opposite to occur. It would be ironic if someone said "I wish I was dead", then gets hit by the immortality bus, giving him immortality.
