What really pisses me off isn't tacking on the footnote. It's when they put that asterisk in there, and the asterisk doesn't correspond to anything! It's just THERE for no reason!

lol, if you really think that's the reason we hate bankers, you should look into the not so federal bank, to who they have to report (no one) and how they crush any competitive means of coin that's released (bitcoin for instance)

I ******* hate Australia, we have the caps as well and not only that we have the slowest internet in the world. ******* most of Africa probably has faster internet my god it's terrible. Another FANTASTIC thing going on here is the NBN (National Broadband Network) scheduled to have been finished in 2021, by that time the rest of the world would be faster than what that will provide, also with the NBN there is an election going on and the opposition wants to change the plan so that it finishes in 2019 and costs less but instead of 100mbps it will be 25mbps. Like what the **** is wrong with this country.

7Mb/s Is good here considering it is only ADSL and not ADSL 2+. One of my friends only gets 200kilobytes/second.

i currently have a bundle( i used to only have them for internet but got tired of directTV). and i can only say good things about Charter. i am actually paying for a 30Mb/s connection but every time i speedtest it never goes under 45Mb/s . also connection is solid i never have to worry about throttling or slowdowns. and the modem is included (no rental fees). when i got the bundle they also threw in an extra free HD DVR just because i asked nicely. honestly never had service from anywhere that even got close to the Quality service i get from Charter

In Canada, the two biggest internet providers have finally started offering unlimited bandwidth (starting in the last year) for the additional cost of $30 with any eligible in market internet package.
So you have to buy a package, (mine is $67* for 35dl, 3ul, 120gb) then add $30 every month to change that 120 to some other number that isn't infinity/

I get unlimited gigs for like 17 euros a month (22.6185 dollars), but my download speed is usually 600KB/s. I only get 1.5MB or rarely 2 when I'm downloading from steam or origin :<
Damn you Greece and your third-grade speeds.

I have a 120 Mbit (15 MBps) connection at home, but since the router is one story higher, I must use Wi-Fi and can only get about 5 MBps speed. Feels bad man.

Why would it be one story higher?
Also, don't complain because 5MBps is still awesome as **** .
I once got 4.3 and I had a seizure.

Because that's where the phone line comes into our house and thats where the ISP conveniently put the router and all that jazz. My computer is in the basement. (Living room, to be more precise)

I'm raging so hard right now.
At least, do you have a laptop so you can let it download the stuff or only a PC?
User avatar #133 to #124 - AnonsForSure (08/29/2013) [-]
I don't have a laptop, I never liked them, too expensive for a given performance, so I only have a desktop.

Alienware m18x master race.
Also, you could use an ethernet cable to have more stable and faster internets.

I didn't realyl feel like drilling through the ceiling, I'm sure you would understand. Also, like I said, it's about half a foot thick.

What about getting a really really long ethernet cable?

Switch your ISP provided router to an n or ac rated router. Unless they provided you with an n or ac rated router when you signed up (which they probably didn't, ISP's usually jew out and only give g rated routers, which transfer a max of 56 Mb/7MBps at most) you should be able to max out your connection speed.
User avatar #140 to #138 - AnonsForSure (08/29/2013) [-]
Actually the router they gave me apparantly does a mixed mode of b/g/n, but it is so bad that there's no option for, say, N-mode only. Since it is **** like that, I seriously doubt it actually does know n-mode. (My wifi-stick does know it, I did check that.)
Half a foot of steel conrete does do its job, it seems.

Oh yeah? Welcome to India where you gotta pay about 75$ for a meagre 64kbps connection..

Why would primitive monkeypeople like the Indians need fast internet?
You have other pastimes - go gang-rape some women.

You may say because of the slow internet, some people love gangraping women instead of watching porn or other **** ..

Hey you weeds, spare a thought for those who still use a dial-up, 14k modem!
User avatar #105 to #89 - alhemicar (08/29/2013) [-]
You know dial-up probably costs you far more than dsl or cable, maybe even adsl.

Who the hell would use a dial up modem these days? You must be joking right?
