The UK is no longer going to help on this one, because they actually listened to their people and they are no longer going to strike, Russia is saying that what we are about to do is a challenge to the UN charter and a violation of international law, and they are 100% right, the Vatican is pissed at us for this, China is calling for restraint... Obama needs to make the right choice, don't attack Syria, it's not our problem and we shouldn't make it ours and make thousands more at the same time, and he should actually listen to the american people and the Congress, this is wrong and we should not do it

it's still considered a combat mission. it'd be retarded to think none of them could possibly die.

How will they start ww3 just because some sailors died in an attack they planned on a nation to stop a war. good logic there I know, but sometimes retards need to be put down with a boom

Russia isnt exactly led by pure genius either. but that's beside the point, nobody will be dumb enough to start a ww3 over any ******** in the middle east. if russia or america invaded somewhere that mattered, then yeah, **** would hit the fan. Yeah I said it, inb4 butthurt.

Funny, I hope Russia doesn't decide to fight against Syria's enemies. I don't want to be at war with Russia.

there is haky proof that Bashar al assad used chemical weapons in the syrian civil war, which is a big no-no, obama wants to launch a few tomahawks at syria, syria says they will fight back if we do, iran will likely help syria, NATO wants to help us, the UN doesnt want this, worst case scenario, much bigger middle east conflict than what we have now , and some people think its going to turn into WW3

I don't understand the relation between these 2 presidents, can someone please explain?
#42 to #41 - nchubz (08/29/2013) [-]
i don't kknow a lot but i think because america (and most of NATO) are preparing to invade syria, the president is looking for allies, like russia
#53 to #41 - innos (08/29/2013) [-]
nchubz is correct but they kinde are alied allready

pretty much all of the UN wanted to take actions against syria but the russians stoped them as they have the idiology of leaving a gouverment and their people on its own (mostly because they want to be left alone too as they are very corupt)

there is a United Nations Security Council with 5 countries with (constant) veto power and as soon as a country with veto power speaks against an action it will not happen... russia has been protecting assad for month now....
User avatar #39 - ruebezahl (08/29/2013) [-]
This whole thing reminds me of the first Gulf War where fake testimony by a "nurse" (who later turned out to be the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador) was used to sway public opinion and the Congress towards approving a military intervention by the US. The woman testified that she had seen Iraqi soldiers taking babies in a Kuwaiti hospital out of their incubators to leave them to die. This later turned out to be a lie.

Now, "conveniently" a supposed chemical attack occured in Syria, after the US has said over and over that they would retaliate against such an attack.

It really is a shame that the Western countries think that only their opinion counts in these matters and that they can just ignore the UN when they feel like it. If they keep doing that, they'll undermine the authority of the UN until there's nothing left and every country is going to start claiming the right to mandate themselves to go to war, just like we are doing.
#29 to #26 - notyaoming (08/29/2013) [-]
News Flash! Most of the world ignores the UN any way...not like it matters, when ever the UN tries to do something they all end up fighting any way.
User avatar #35 to #26 - commontroll (08/29/2013) [-]
Implying the UN actually is effective and has power and isn't corrupt in any way nor is it at all trying to take control of everything ever...
User avatar #17 - gigglesthegreat (08/29/2013) [-]
But... Assad isn't afraid.. Putin already said he's advising against an attack against Syria from any of the U.S. and her allies and would respond to them in kind.
#18 to #17 - innos (08/29/2013) [-]
putin's gonna be smart enough not to go to war over this incident...

Mahmud Amadinetschat or how ever you spell that mofo on the other Hand is just waiting for an excuse + he's got a nuke or two...

it's not the syrian conflict that woriies me I'm worried it's gonna affect the whole area...
User avatar #19 to #18 - gigglesthegreat (08/29/2013) [-]
I'm more worried that he DID say there would be catastrophic consequences for attacking Syria. Keep in mind that Syria is a big trade zone for Russia's arms dealing. China has vowed to back Russia in this, and North Korea is an ally of both along with Iran and the rest of their allies. The U.S. and her allies think that mobilization is a good option in this, and they are wrong. As a citizen of the states, I can say that my government would be making a HUGE mistake if it really strikes.
User avatar #33 to #19 - joethebeast (08/29/2013) [-]
116 members of congress have told obama not to do it, i hope to god we don't
#21 to #19 - innos (08/29/2013) [-]
I agree that it is going to be a mistake then again one that is extremly hard to avoid...
Putin is a politician though therefor you cannot believe anything what so ever that Comes out of his damn mouth...

set case you were right that'd mean world war III

Swiss fag here so not to worry too much about war here we avoided that rather well in the past...
User avatar #23 to #21 - gigglesthegreat (08/29/2013) [-]
You guys avoid war because nobody wants to **** with you lol It's usually the quiet and sophisticated power that comes out kicking someone's ass if they're not left alone.

I agree that it's a hard mistake not to make. On one hand: They may have used chemical weapons; and, if they did, cannot be allowed to get away with it else other powers think that they can do it too. On the other hand: It could bring about a much larger war and a higher deathtoll, as well as possible talk of nuclear war (We all know how good key countries are at NOT bringing that up.) It's a pretty sharp double edged sword, and I guess we can just hope for the best.
User avatar #20 to #19 - gigglesthegreat (08/29/2013) [-]
I would suppose that the better option would be sitting down with them in the U.N. AFTER finding out without a doubt that these weapons were used rather than trying to jump the gun on due process; and organizing a response to the ones responsible on a more percise scale, rather than trying to use a full on strike as a slap on the hand.
#22 to #20 - innos (08/29/2013) [-]
media here say your secret Services recorded phone calls that prove those weapans were used and were used by the gouverment aka assad...

You need to login to view this link

the ones from 26th 27th and 28th

I guess the said phonecalls recorded was yesterday so 28th

Sauce is worthless because german and the vids not accesable for you unless you use a swiss vpn or proxy
User avatar #28 to #25 - gigglesthegreat (08/29/2013) [-]
I would have to guess that people are making speculation in this case, as the recording of phonecalls isn't a job for which the secret service is either charged with, or equipped for. That would be more likely NSA or CIA territory, and I can hardly believe that if that had happened and there was proof of it, we wouldn't have heard about it here too. Our government is pretty bad at keeping secrets.
#30 to #28 - innos (08/29/2013) [-]
I didn't meant "the secret Service" specific I could not remember which one it was so I refered to all the Services like FBI CIA NSA and so on... I don't know which one is doing what anymore... they kinda Play each others games... for example I thought the NSA was responsible for the security of your Country therefor operates in your Country and I learned this summer they are all over europe (snowden was in geneva switzerland for quite some time ... he wrote something like we'd be the most racist People he ever saw... c'mon -.- and the BND (Bundes Nachritendienst) from Germany is supporting the NSA big time so do the brits...

tl;dr gotta go to work

Now if Putin and Obama and the rest of the world had gotten together and Sat on him a year ago we might not be in the midst of making another Iraq/Iran. Now Lebanon is on Fire, Syria is three countries and Israel is so paranoid there shooting anything remotely military coming on their borders. Fantastic
