This is actually a really good chart for someone who wants to start smoking cigars. I used to smoke cigarettes because the nicotene helped me keep calm when things got stressed. Then i smoked a cigar one of my buddies got me for my 18th birthday. Dont remember what it was as i wasnt very knowledgable at the time and still am even if not as much. It started out really smooth and light then about past the second third it got to heavy for me and gave me a headache. I went to a cigar shop the next day and asked the guy if he had something that would stay smooth thru the whole smoke, he refereed me to Gurka Royal Challenge. It has a nice start of vanilla and nutty hints and then gets more of a medium body past the first third, and the last third is rather sweet and full bodied without being heavy. Its not the fanciest or best reviewed cigar ive smoked but its deffinatly my favorite and its rather cheap for its quality. Goes fine with a rum and coke after a long day IF the chart made you think about trying a cigar, Gurka Royal Challenge is easily what i would suggest. My prefered size is one thats not on this chart, Churchill.

I'd suggest a alcarzar maduro, its a very dark cigar and around 5 bucks at its most expensive. But be wary this is not for first time smokers this will kick your ass if you haven't smoked cigars before even after smoking my personal favorite a H.Upman this thing kicked my ass, made me light headed as hell couldn't walk straight to save my life. Oh a black n milds are not cigars they are trash.

For anyone who enjoys a lighter cigar, I highly recommend the 10th Anniversary Champagne. $6-$10 and my favorite by far.

I find that the only thing missing in this chart is the importance of ring gauge to smoke time. My only thing I find wrong with this is the price range. Sure there are plenty of cigars worth 15-20 that are just fine. But there are many more that are worth 8-12 that are amazing smokes that wont kill your wallet. But over all this isn't that bad and will give you enough information to show you are actually interested and have a general idea for what you think you would want to lean Though if you are just starting. I would implore you in all sense of the word to seek out a local cigar shop and talk to the tobacconist. They will be able to give you a decent cigar for the price, and will be able to make sure that a person starting out doesn't get killed by picking one that is too potent for them!

They aren't really missing that one since that is the equivalent of the unwanted deformed bastard child from the slut wife's college days on one of those nights she partied too hard with her friends before graduation. Generally these ones are reserved for a person with very select taste as many many stores will not have them as they are a terrible terrible thing that should never have been wrapped around any tobacco!
User avatar #22 - kittyporn (08/26/2013) [-]

Please explain why you shouldn't use a zippo.
User avatar #33 to #30 - ironsliver ONLINE (08/27/2013) [-]
The reason for not using a zippo is about the chemicals that make up regular lighter fluid. See if you use a a normal lighter (LIke the iconic Zippo) you will actually ruin a good part of the flavors and characters of the cigar from the fact that a residue will be left in the tobacco itself. Now when you use a butane/torch lighter. There is no 'flavor' that is imparted from the flame. Not to mention its allot more accurate and well suited for these situations. Also! When using a match one should make sure that all the head is burned and the flame is onto the wood. As the sulfur can do similar things to the cigar as well. Unless you are using cigar/pipe specific matches.
