iv been smoking cigars for a year now, and this chart is a huge help. Also you should stone them in a room of about 70 degrees and 70% humidity. great content, id give thumbs if i could but im still lvl 1....so i faved

Please explain why you shouldn't use a zippo.
User avatar #33 to #30 - ironsliver (08/27/2013) [-]
The reason for not using a zippo is about the chemicals that make up regular lighter fluid. See if you use a a normal lighter (LIke the iconic Zippo) you will actually ruin a good part of the flavors and characters of the cigar from the fact that a residue will be left in the tobacco itself. Now when you use a butane/torch lighter. There is no 'flavor' that is imparted from the flame. Not to mention its allot more accurate and well suited for these situations. Also! When using a match one should make sure that all the head is burned and the flame is onto the wood. As the sulfur can do similar things to the cigar as well. Unless you are using cigar/pipe specific matches.

SAVED xD Up till now i've been only smoking swishers.. yes I'm a broke ass bitch.

For anyone who enjoys a lighter cigar, I highly recommend the 10th Anniversary Champagne. $6-$10 and my favorite by far.

I don't smoke, but now I wanna try a cigar
#21 to #19 - Rascal (08/26/2013) [-]
I'm sure you know this, but if you don't, cigars don't contain nicotine.
So really it will not hurt you to just try it.
Unless you're some kind of idiot with no self-control
User avatar #48 to #21 - sanguinesolitude (08/27/2013) [-]
cigars most definitely do contain nicotine. But you are unlikely to get addicted to cigar smoking. It takes regularly and frequently smoking cigars to get to that point.
User avatar #39 to #19 - ironsliver (08/27/2013) [-]
Honestly its nowhere near as bad as smoking cigarettes! First off there is none of the chemicals added to the tobacco to make it more potent. Such as amonia, extra nicotine, things that make it burn hotter and faster. And what ever else there is. Also unlike cigarettes you don't inhale the smoke from Cigars. Unless you are a smoker and wish But even by cigar aficionados they never inhale more than one puff every four puffs. But cigars are smoked for the enjoyment and relaxation and flavors they provide. There is some Nicotine in them but just enough to provide a decent light buzz. Mind you its a natural level. My suggestion is go to a locally owned Cigar store and talk to the tobacconist. Get a cutter a decent lighter and have them show you how to properly light the cigar. ((As it will take practice to get it done right.))
User avatar #43 to #39 - atomschlumpf (08/27/2013) [-]
But how do you get the flavour if you don't inhale? I'd probably just cough it all up anyway...
Also my girlfriend would never allow that, she absolutely can't stand the smell of any smoking
User avatar #45 to #43 - ironsliver (08/27/2013) [-]
See you don't inhale it into the lungs I should say. You take the smoke into your mouth and let it set and move around then release it back out. That is how. And to get around the gf issue. This is why they have cigar bar's and cigar shops. Or your back porch. No need to do it in the house! Also if you do do it in the house they have smoke eater candles that make the smoke in the air go away in a heartbeat and gives her an excuse to get more of those scented candles females are always so crazy over!

even pipe tobacco? that stuff smells good, also smoking a pipe is classy as ****

most of them listed are cheap gas station and low rack cigars. the higher priced cigars insure you that the proper ageing and curing has been done. have you ever had that ammonia taste. If you experience a bit in the back of your throat while smoking a cigar this most often is a sign of a cigar that lacks aging and or lacks quality tobaccos. now all i can say is if you go to a smoke shop just ask someone working their. they will bring you into the humidor room and offer some very nice choices.

They aren't really missing that one since that is the equivalent of the unwanted deformed bastard child from the slut wife's college days on one of those nights she partied too hard with her friends before graduation. Generally these ones are reserved for a person with very select taste as many many stores will not have them as they are a terrible terrible thing that should never have been wrapped around any tobacco!

This is actually a really good chart for someone who wants to start smoking cigars. I used to smoke cigarettes because the nicotene helped me keep calm when things got stressed. Then i smoked a cigar one of my buddies got me for my 18th birthday. Dont remember what it was as i wasnt very knowledgable at the time and still am even if not as much. It started out really smooth and light then about past the second third it got to heavy for me and gave me a headache. I went to a cigar shop the next day and asked the guy if he had something that would stay smooth thru the whole smoke, he refereed me to Gurka Royal Challenge. It has a nice start of vanilla and nutty hints and then gets more of a medium body past the first third, and the last third is rather sweet and full bodied without being heavy. Its not the fanciest or best reviewed cigar ive smoked but its deffinatly my favorite and its rather cheap for its quality. Goes fine with a rum and coke after a long day IF the chart made you think about trying a cigar, Gurka Royal Challenge is easily what i would suggest. My prefered size is one thats not on this chart, Churchill.
