That's not true at all. Actually, ever since FPS exist, the designers use a complex algortihm, first discovered by eduard aug, who, for the game Doom, programmed a function which makes your character blink at the exact same moment you blink, so it wouldn't produce an inconvenience, by blacking out the screen shortly.

But how would a program know when to blink exactly when I blink?
I have never seen this, I've even tried this out by staring at the screen for a prolonged amount of time without blinking.

The characters don't blink, and I haven't found a game where they do unless for cutscene purposes.

They install an asian on the video game so it reads your mind.

Whenever I go through my daily life, I never see a "black screen", it just happens too fast. Or maybe your body just ignores it? (Like your eyes ignore your nose)

just because you use the words "complex algorithm" does not make your point believable, if your not a troll i will loose so much faith in humanity.

there is a huge difference between making a joke and being a troll.
Look it up some time.

you seem to be upset?

There is also a line between a legitimate comment pointing out something you said wrong. and being upset.

Please read the manual you got when you first started the internet, that will explain everything.

That's because YOU blink on your own, dumbass.

Would you really want it to blink in addition to your own blinking?
#4 - Mutador (08/25/2013) [-]
Wrong, the game is programmed so that the character blinks whenever you are blinking, there's a special algorithm developed it called "character blinking algorithm 2", the first one sometimes didn't turn the screen black when the player blinked so they had to develop a new one...
User avatar #11 - lionxroar (08/26/2013) [-]
Well, somehow makes sense, that they don't you... if you are playing a game, you ARE the character for that time. So it should be enough if your real-life part blinks, eh?

What if every time you blink, the player blinks almost as if you are in that situation in real life
#28 - anon (08/26/2013) [-]
Actually, they could be blinking. If you think about it, you never really lose your sight when you blink normally. Your brain actually fills in the blanks with information, so you never feel like you're missing something. (Now you're testing this out by looking around and blinking LOOOOOOL)
#27 - stefhalv (08/26/2013) [-]
they dont need to blink, we do it for them
