That is a kinesin. It's a protein that "walks" along the microtubules in the cells. They do this by hydrolyzing ATP and converting that energy into mechanical movement. It is the protein, along with the dynein, responsible for the movement and transportation of vesicles and organelles inside your cells. And that is pretty ******* amazing.

Molecular Motor Kinesin Walks Like a Drunk Man
Well, this is a simulation of how the protein takes a "step". Just bear in mind that this process ocurrs incredibly fast (about hundreds of times per second, with velocities that range between 0.4 µm/s and 0.9 µm/s)

here's a fun thing to do.
you will need 40 spiders, a marker, and several hundred paper cups.
get your victim to fall asleep.
put cups face down.
randomly place spiders in cups.
use the marker to write the distance (in cups) of a spider inside the cups nearest to it.
set video camera in room.
enjoy as friend plays spider minesweeper.

You also have to remember that they're 1/2 filled with water. That adds pressure on the sides at the bottom of the cups, causing them to be able to support rather than crumple.
