Some of the Black Eyed Peas songs are alright.
They are not for listening deeply and interpreting the meaning of life, they are meant to play at a party so that you can dance the **** out of them.

The Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love? I'd totally agree if it wasn't for the existence of this song.
#36 to #20 - notafunnyguy (08/25/2013) [-]
they have party songs, and they have some lovey songs. personally i like them. im not a fan of the rolling stones, bohemian rhapsody, or really any songs from that era. i've given them a shot, and listened to a lot of them and i personally just dont like them. i mean i wont rage online about how bad i think they are and how **** i think all music was. its just not my style i guess.
#3 - anon (08/25/2013) [-]
But then you miss out on the beautiful, meaningful lyrics! Like-
Imma be
Imma be
Imma be
Imma be
and
Boom boom pow

A song doesn't need meaningful lyrics to be good, man. BEP is about beats, not lyrics. It's dance music.
Also it's "gotta get that boom boom boom, gotta get that boom boom boom"

Both metal and electronic music have good beats (when produced well), but it's all opinion based when it comes to which is better. Personally, metal is too noisy for me.

What anime is that? I've seen this gif a couple of times but i still don't know from where it comes.
User avatar #42 to #32 - peaceloveandponies (08/25/2013) [-]
higurashi, first season, cotton drifting arc, or it could be the eye opening arc. Hard to remember sometimes.
User avatar #81 to #42 - linktheherooftime (08/25/2013) [-]
From the gifs I've seen about this anime, it seems like it revolves around a bunch of yandere chicks.
#106 to #81 - thundagawd (08/25/2013) [-]
Yes and no. The anime revolves around the curse of "Oyashiro-Sama". Basically, every year during the "Watanagashi festival", a tragedy takes place where one person dies, and another one goes missing (and then they are found dead several days later). The anime starts on the 4th year (or so) of this series of disasters with the arrival of a new exchange student. Basically, the story progresses in 4-6 episode arcs, each arc plays through the same period in time, but the scenario is different every time. So one arc has one character's sanity slowly deteriorate due to the "curse", leading to them killing their friends with a baseball bat, and then full-on losing their **** and tearing their throat out in a phone booth while calling 911, and then the next arc will start/reset, everyone will be alive again prior to the festival, and then the night of the festival, a different scenario plays out. And each time you can see minor differences between the scenarios which leads to big differences in the results as though the characters are unknowingly learning from their previous mistakes, and the goal of the story is to find a way out of the loophole of death centered around the "Watanagashi Festival" and the "Curse of Oyashiro-Sama" (I.E. everyone must survive the festival, but no one knows what's about to happen).

Personally, it's my favorite psychological anime ever, mainly because it keeps you guessing until they finally reveal exactly what the curse "IS", and despite the fact they leave you in the dark for a solid 30-ish episodes, there's just a certain allure to seeing how each scenario differs from the previous one that makes it such an entertaining series to watch.

Thanks for the explanation. It sounds really good, and I'm downloading it as we speak.
#111 to #109 - thundagawd (08/26/2013) [-]
Yeah, it's a great series. The only "flaw" (if you consider it to be a flaw, personally I thought it was a cool idea) is their decision to hold off on explanations until more than halfway into the story. Everything gets explained in perfect detail by the start of the Massacre arc (around episode 30), so you'll understand everything you need to for the grand finale(s).

Crazy Frog and now Black Eyed Peas, we got a theme going for music that was really popular for a brief period and now makes me want to rip my ears off, I see Blurred Lines doing the same thing.

I used to love the Black Eyed Peas as a kid, their older songs were catchy and in the area of decent pop songs, I liked Don't Phunk With my Heart, Don't Lie, Pump It was really good too, and My Humps was probably my guilty pleasure, even tho it now sounds like money, however after they tried to be modern and have nothing but party songs, they got tiring, really tiring, all the imagination was gone. Prob the only party song I can still listen to from BEP is Lets Get Retarded, it's damn good.

And Meet Me Halfway is also a good song if we're talking about their more recent work. I get nostalgic whenever I listen to their older songs, so I guess that's why I still like them, no shame in that.
#90 to #88 - notaboss (08/25/2013) [-]
I used to love them, too. I went to their concerts and even collected different memorabilia. But ever since they turned into this electronic/hip-hop stuff, I can't stand it.

tl;dr bring back Monkey Business/Elephunk style BEP.

Old Black Eyed Peas were pretty damn good back then, but I still enjoy their songs now. I don't ALWAYS have to listen to meaningful lyrics. If you do, that doesn't make you superior at all. There are moments for seriousness and there are moments when you have fun. Black Eyed Peas have been fun for me and their song "I have a feeling" give me nostalgia lol. I don't personally listen to BEP daily or normally, it's just fun to go back and listen to them once in a while.
