I've been told by several gay guys I look like Chris Martin from Coldplay, I like Coldplay, but I know a lot of people make fun of Coldplay, so when being told I often end up more conflicted than flattered

If I ever turn out to be gay, I'll do this to people that seem alone walking down the street. Compliment them, and make men everywhere feel better about themselves.
Hell, I'll do it now. brb in a few hours.
User avatar #57 to #6 - jajathezombie (08/23/2013) [-]
I do that to women but usually they just call me a dyke.

and, how did it work?
User avatar #129 to #26 - sekretsauce **User deleted account** (08/24/2013) [-]
I did it on my way to work. Deliberately stared at peoples' asses. Three people looked at me funny, a good deal of them shook their rear (Playfully or otherwise), and most others just didn't notice. I also whistled. Nobody jumped me.
#134 to #129 - kanedam (08/24/2013) [-]
but you didnt say anything...?
come on, compliment them!

a gay guy once stared hitting on me in the subway, it made me feel beautiful in the manliest of ways
#40 - gayandhappyaboutit (08/23/2013) [-]
Okay, honest question I've had:
Assuming the gay man isn't being creepy about it, do straight men really care when a gay guy hits on (knowing that it's just for kicks) or compliments them?
#42 to #40 - angelusprimus (08/23/2013) [-]
In my experience it depends on how secure man is in his sexuality.
People who are very secure will act flattered or a little embaressed but be fine with it.
Guys who have homosexual tendencies and are ashamed of them can react badly.
User avatar #51 to #40 - demandsgayversion (08/23/2013) [-]
Some don't mind and take it as a compliment, others get really really angry.
User avatar #77 to #40 - xdeathspawnx (08/23/2013) [-]
I'd just say, "I'm flattered but I don't swing that way." if they hit on me or asked me out. I would react to a compliment the same way I would react if a women complimented my looks.
User avatar #89 to #40 - coolcalx (08/23/2013) [-]
a guy once said to me "that jacket looks damn good on you."

Gay men tend to have fairly high standards, so I take it as a compliment when one flirts with me. I don't reciprocate the flirting, but I'm by no means rude or mean to them for it. Compliments are always a good thing.
User avatar #72 to #40 - GnRNoD ONLINE (08/23/2013) [-]
I take it as a compliment, but sometimes they do get creepy about it... Like at clubs they'll throw themselves at you and won't take a hint when you push them so you have to get in their face and tell them to stop (usually it has to be done in a mean way in order to get their attention)
Like if I hit on a chick and she clearly rejects me I just step aside, and I wouldn't mind if a guy hits on me as long as he stops when I hint him I'm not interested...
I've had problems with chicks that are ultra high and start dancing pressing against me and when I try to make a move they look at me funny or with a mean look of "stop" I just stop and move away a little if they do it again I just start saying (out loud) stuff like " get away from me... Don't touch me... etc..." But I do this because I know it plays wtih womens basic emotion of wanting what they can't have and I enjoy being wanted by bitches like that and rejecting them after they made me go after them and rejected me.
Also I go out a lot (at night) and I should write a tesis or something about this **** there's a lot of psychology in the subtle night life.

Homophobic guys will react with disgust but anyone who is tolerant of gays or any bit bisexual are usually a bit flattered. Speaking from firsthand experience.

Story Time!
About a year ago I went to a party with my mom for one of her friends. This friend was gay and he was throwing a type of auction/charity party because he is rich and owns a super fabulous house. A lot of people were there. Like, a lot. Like, so many people were there the guy hired two bartenders (and made them go shirtless) and a DJ for this party. Well, I got myself a drink and went inside to grab some food. I couldn't hold my drink and tongs and plate and etc so I placed my drink down on a counter. When I went to go pick it up I noticed the exact same drink was next to mine. This doppelganger belonged to a big burly gay man who picked it up and slyly winked at me after asking, "You didn't put anything in here, did you?" Never in my life did I feel so complimented on my appearance.
