bogus, look up the Cambrian explosion. a period of time where the fossil record, in a relatively short amount of time, becomes incredibly diverse. it occurs far too quickly for the current theory of evolution to be correct.

By current theory of evolution do you mean the method by which evolution happens (ie natural selection) or the idea of evolution itself?

Those millions of years really fly by don't they?

I believe what he is saying, if you study evolutionary history and you take evolution to be true, that there is such a rapid expansion of species that the current model of evolution cannot explain. It took billions of years for multicellular organisms to evolve, and then within a 5 million year span an exponential rate of species were created. You should look it up instead of criticizing. Best thing about science is that the facts don't lie, we just may misunderstand them.

What we believe triggered the Cambrian Explosion was the evolution of sight. Once that evolved, other organisms had to evolve ways of avoiding predators that could see/compete with seeing species for the same resources, causing the other species to also evolve sight. Once organisms had sight, even slight advantages became more effective, causing an increase in selection for said advantages. Ever heard of the evolutionary arms race, or The Red Queen Hypothesis?

Tl;dr I'm going into the 3rd year of my honours degree in genetics, and nobody has ever suggested that the relative speed of evolution during the Cambrian doesn't fit with Darwinism

The Cambrian Explosion happened with relative speed, not ludicrous speed.

Ever heard of adaptive radiation?
